Really good food. Relaxed and good atmosphere in restaurant.
Really enjoyed food good and service excellent.
The food was very nice and the wait staff were quite friendly but a couple of the staff could do with instructions on how to wear a face mask
Myself and my 2 friends booked dinner for 7 . It was my friends birthday . We predinner cocktails and we'd a beautiful meal with wine and more cocktails . Food is exceptional . We'd a great night . Staff were lovely . Great place for dinner.
Food was okay - not particularly hot
Seated near door and was open.
Mussels and cocktails are great quality. Overall a very nice experience.
We love it so much
Return visit to this great Dublin restaurant. As always, the food was excellent. Lovely presentation and quite tasty.
Lovely service, decent food, music odd and too loud.
Food was delicious and filling, staff lovely and attentive. Had a great time with my 2 friends.
Superb cooking and service. The chicken and black pudding terrine is worth a visit alone.
Superb. Great drinks and atmosphere. Staff very motivated and very much enjoying their jobs and it showed. My husband had pea and mint soup and the best tasting streak of his life! And that’s saying something as he eats steak a lot. I had gambas starter and the prawns were super and chicken dish was excellent. A Panacotta, Margarita, Whiskey Sour, an Irish coffee and chilled bottle of Picpoul and made for a lovely night. We‘d both highly recommend Green Hen 🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
The food was delicious but was disappointed that the menu posted on Open Table as 35€ for 3 courses was not available. Would appreciate if information on menu was updated.
Enjoyed the food and the service
Great food very friendly helpful staff great atmosphere
We recently went to dinner in the Green Hen - our first trip into Dublin City since restrictions due to the pandemic were eased. And what an experience ! Everything about the Green Hen was great - from the warm reception at the door, seamless covid checks, well spaced tables inside and a wonderful ambiance complimented by a real fire in the corner. The food was excellent - as was the service. We would highly recommend !
We were very well looked after by good attentive staff. Food was excellent , very well prepared and presented. Thoroughly recommended
Limited lunch menu with few choices.
Nice food and attentive service.
Amazing staff! Super available and caring for customer wow
Lovely evening. Great staff. I really like your new menu. Many thanks.
Food is OK, but considering the limited menu I would have expected better. Service friendly enough, but lacked experience
Very limited menu , possibly due to covid restrictions. Unruly children inside drove us outdoors but the service and food was great.
Stripped back menu but lovely service and atmosphere.
Only three main course choices.
Peri peri chicken was considered too spicy for my wife.
The fish (cod) my wife doesn't eat out because of the possibility of bones (which was the case).
My wife ordered the steak, which was under done, we asked for it to be cooked some more, it was returned still undercooked (we requested it well done, so the evidence of blood wasn't acceptable).
To save any embarassment my wife tried to eat my cod and I her steak.
My wife found two bones in her first mouthful and ate no more - it waseft on the side of the plate.
When the staff cleared we were not asked if we enjoyed our meal.
We paid the 109euro and left - we have visited the restaurant a number of times in the past when visiting Dublin, but will never return - very very poor!
Big fan of the Green Hen but their current menu is very limited. Looking forward to them getting back towards their pre-Covid offering in the coming months. A choice of sauce with the steak beyond peppercorn would be great also. Attentive services as always and lovely drinks.
A really nice restaurant and dinner was very tasty. Service wasn't great. After our mains were cleared no one came near us to offer dessert, more wine or anything. We were only asked if we wanted anything else when we asked for the bill. Other than that it was a really nice evening
Menu wasn't great very limited dishes for the price. Coffee was way too strong.
ALWAYS serve the lady or ladies at the table first and don't drowned the steak in sauce.
Fantastic first visit I’ll be back food staff everything was amazing great wine recommendations really enjoyed it and our clients were delighted
A good chef ! The meals were very tasty, well prepared & not overly fussy but interesting !
Slightly limited menu at the moment most likely due to only recently opening up,.. we have been before many times & have never been disappointed… that’s a rarity.
Service really couldn’t have been better !
Nice restaurant. Staff were great and food was very tasty. However it was a bit overpriced for the portion size and a bit loud on the background music. For example Gambas starter was lovely but 14euro for a few prawns?. Understand that with COVID, table numbers are lower so costs higher but it won’t encourage frequent visits. Which is a shame because the food was really nice.
Great night. Chicken dish was amazing as was the pate starter.
The food was lovely and we knew it would be, having eaten there before. However, the service was appalling. The waiters were unfriendly and abrupt. They were dropping meals on tables as if in a Formula One race!! No one greeted us with a welcome smile or a Happy Christmas !! No one asked, at any stage, how any part of our meal was! I was waiting 10 mins for bread.
More importantly, the only hand sanitiser on the wall downstairs at the toilets, was broken. The tables were too close together and while all restaurants were due to be closed at 3pm, they were still welcoming new guests at 3pm when we were leaving. Not following COVID restrictions is just not acceptable and unfair to those who are doing so !!
Excellent food and service. The Green Hen is a favourite of mine and never disappoints.
Booked a table in the Green Hen to meet up with family to celebrate Christmas as hadn’t seen them for months. It was our first visit to the Green Hen and despite all the current restrictions and safety measures it didn’t disappoint. Or arrivals we were welcomed with a warm greeting and shown to our table. The Christmas menu was good value and had good choices. We had the duck Parfait and haddock fish cakes both of which were delicious. For main the duck leg literally fell of the bone was seriously good. The staff and service was warm friendly and attentive, we would definitely return to the restaurant. Thank you team Green Hen best of luck over the coming weeks and hopefully we can return in the not too distant future.
The Green Hen was by far one of best dining experiences in Dublin I have had to date. The atmosphere was fantastic, the food was second to none and the staff were the cherry on top. Jenny, in particular made us feel very welcome and was such a wonderful host. We will definitely be back and would highly recommend! Very central location and reasonably priced.
Beautiful cosy chic restaurant, would highly recommend
This was my first visit to this restaurant and I was very impressed. Its a nice, well located restaurant with surprisingly good food and friendly service. We had a nice table at the back well spread out from other diners and really enjoyed the meal. I will most defiantly be back to this restaurant.
Brilliant, would recommend anyone to go. Food was very nice!
Gem of a restaurant. Everything I could have hoped for and more from with a beautiful dinner to tasty cocktails in bespoke surroundings. Most of all the staff were so nice - Jennifer who greeted us to the waiter upstairs and the barman who made us cocktails. Each was so friendly. 20/10 experience for a young couple.
