Very clean , good device with a smile . Some tables can feel a little dark but that’s being picky . Lovely garden for sitting outside if the weather is right . Portions could be a bit more manly on some dishes but a firm favourite for me
Lovely pub in a great setting serving well above your standard pub food. The kitchen staff clearly make an effort with nicely presented dishes and an interesting and varied menu. Waiting staff were friendly and attentive.
You can’t fault the food here. The choice is great and it’s all lovely. We were lucky enough to be able to sit outside in the sunshine so the setting was perfect too. There was a big back log in the kitchen hence the slight mark down for service but we stuck with it and felt it was worth the wait.
We enjoyed our Sunday lunch at the Green Man. It was well cooked and nicely presented and the waitress was extremely pleasant and helpful. We will definitely go again in the near future.
No Guinness, unable to have our choice of started (parfait), unable to have set menu as our choice of started was unavailable and the steaks were tough. We have been here many times and always had a lovely meal but this was very poor and it’s not as though they were even busy. Most of the restaurant was empty, wondered whether it was a reflection of the recent service.
Been here a number of times and have also had a pleasurable experience
Lovely food, friendly staff and great value
Not impressed service very poor and food not as it used to be
The food wasn’t that great and for what it was, was over priced.
The waiter wasn’t very friendly.
Shame they don’t make the most of a lovely country pub.
Unfortunately the table I booked on line was not forwarded to the green man . We happened to go prior just to check where we wld be seated and staff at greenman had no knowledge of our bookings. They did find us a table.
Excellent service and great food. Very attentive and focused on great customer service
Nice cosy setting. Usually book through open table successfully. On this occasion after confirmed time we received call from pub to say we could not be accommodated at booked time!! However they did offer us s table at 12 rather than 1.45 as booked.
Made to feel welcome by staff.
Food as always within this chain( we eat often at Whittington arms) is good although today it wasn’t served as hot as it should have been.
Meal was very good. The overall experience was let down by slow service and inexperienced waitresses. Also, very annoying waitress chewing gum when serving. It’s difficult to beat the quality of the food, just need to get service sorted and properly trained.
I’ve alwsys liked this restaurant. It’s in a lovely village setting and nice and cosy for winter evenings.
I ordered a starter and had to wait at least 40 minutes for it which I thought was a bit much. Our mains took another 20 minutes but they were worth waiting for. Absolutely gorgeous food as always
Came across this place while staying locally and took a punt on it due to other reviews.
We really enjoyed it. Good service and good food without feeling ripped off; excellent.
Nice atmosphere with very good and friendly service. Food is fantastic and would definitely recommend.
We went for Sunday lunch and found a lively, informal, bustling pub, with several welly-wearing gentlemen at the bar and families and couples of all ages obviously enjoying their meals. We opted for traditional roasts. Portions were large, with the biggest Yorkshire puddings ever seen and lots of gravy. Everything was tasty and well-presented. After, we appreciated ' the taster-dessert with hot drink' offer! Service was cheerful and brisk. Good value. We will return happily....
