Excellent. Welcoming, friendly, efficient staff. Great food. Good value. Relaxed ambience. We'll definitely return. Covid-19 procedures in place made us feel very comfortable. Thank you.

Had the 3 course set meal, really good food, enjoyed it. The different flavours on the plate complimented each other. Good value too.

We all had the Lunch Menu (3 courses for £23) which we thought was good value for the high quality of food presented. Delicious food and beautifully presented.

The menu of the day had plenty of choice, good food at a fair price. My gluten free needs were well looked after.

Fantastic dishes using interesting ingredients in wonderful combinations. An emphasis on lesser known herbs and spices. Scallop ceviche with Planck pudding brandy snap a stunning standout.

The food generally was good however the dessert had been ''sitting around'' waiting to reach the table.
The front of house were nice people but poorly trained and slow with little knowledge on how a table should be served and I think they left my dessert sitting in the kitchen ; see above.

I also think they may have got our bill wrong, owner beware ; poor billing system.

I never left a tip, I always leave a tip, I feel bad, perhaps next time, the owner is a great chef, I will return.

We all really enjoyed our lunch, the smoked trout for a starter was wonderful and the main courses were good. The puddings were all eaten with gusto! The service was excellent.

Was visiting the area for the weekend and booked the restaurant after reading good reviews. It didn’t disappoint! First weekend for us since COVID lockdown and they were set up really well. No problem with social distancing, staff wearing masks & lots of anti bac available.
Really enjoyed our meal. The food was really high quality, locally sourced and tasted delicious.
Really good choice for a celebration or special treat

A great evening out for my mother- her first since lockdown. The safety measures put in place made her relaxed and they were very accommodating and changed our table to the ground floor when we explained she couldn’t manage the stairs. Great food and service. We’d happily return.

Excellent fresh tasting food, very pleasant evening. I had the duck salad followed by the fish, my husband had the smoked salmon followed by beef. We both had the cheeses to finish. We shared a bottle of very good red wine. Very enjoyable meal. We were visiting Sherborne and so glad we came here.

Visiting The Green is always a joy as the food is well thought out, good quality and well cooked and served by pleasant staff. We have enjoyed many excellent meals at this restaurant and look forward to visiting again. Our only niggle is the size of the portions seems to be increasing. Many visitors would regard this as a plus but in this health conscious age we prefer "less is more".

Nice and friendly restaurant for the first catch-up meal/reunion with my daughter and boyfriend since Christmas. Lovely also to have vegan options as three out of the four of us are vegan. Definitely will be visiting again very soon.

A lovely room where the emphasis is on style and quality. We were delighted with the large choice of dishes from the menu. The 3 courses were all excellent and delicious, and the helpings generous. Service was excellent too. All in all, a most satisfying experience.

Excellent service and superb food - and at £27 for three courses it was excellent value. We hope that The Green manages its way through the COVID crisis. We recommend booking a table for a very “normal and safe” dining experience.

The staff was very pleasant and efficient. There was only one person due to there not being many people - two table of 4 and thee tables of two, including us.

We were offered a small glass of warm apple and tumeric as a taster which we could have taken home by the gallon! I chose the guinea fowl and my husband had the fillet steak. His was done medium rare and just how he likes it and my fowl was superb. We have lovely bread to start with warmed butter. We ordered Barolo, expensive but worth it as it was beautiful. For dessert we picked creme brulee which a scoop of mango sorbet at the side which tempered the sweetness of the brulee, super. The coffee (decaff) was nice and I had a local Estate brandy which was excellent.

All-in-all the evening was very enjoyable and the food and drink par excellence. Well worth paying a little more for.

Have been to The Green many times because it is consistently good. We went for my birthday lunch on Weds and all four of us agreed every course was exceptional as was the champers and the wine. Restaurant has stepped up yet another level - definitely the go-to place in Dorset and outstrips other local Michelin establishments. Amazing standard - will be back soon!

Food choice and quality was as good as ever. My guests really appreciated the fact the vegan choice was more than the token one or two dishes. We also felt that the atmosphere was a little more relaxed than past visits, some staff changes maybe?

We travel 140 miles down to Sherborne each year to the Green to celebrate my birthday in this small but charming restaurant. Jack (new manager since our last visit in December) lived up to our expectations and was very knowledgeable regarding the red wines. There was a party of three and we all enjoyed each course.
Will be back again late spring early summer.

Wonderful food and service. Gpod choice of nteresting dishes that were presented well and tasted even better. Jack was knowledgable and informative. Always there when we needed him but discretely in the background otherwise. Only slight negative was the lighting was too bright could have done with going down a shade or two. Thank you a very enjoyable evening.
