We were thrilled with our experience all around! What a fantastic dinner our first evening in London! The best Beef Wellington!
A delightful pub in beautiful surroundings. Set in a delightfully beautiful mews its a tad difficult to find.
It's full of character and original features but would benefit from a lick of paint and a slight upgrade.
The menu is small but a crowd pleaser and the food was very good. Their 'famous' beef wellington is rightly heralded.
As the pub is very small it's quite hot and crowded. Not a lot one can do about that. But the dining chairs were very uncomfortable (cushions would help) and tables for two people are very small. Wait staff were very attentive to begin with but no so much once food was finished.
I highly recommend going here. Thanks again! Food is terrific.
We were recommended to go to this Pub in London and it was a great decision. Food was delicious, the atmosphere is great. It’s a small place but very cozy and warm. We tried the potato and leek soup and the beef Wellington, they were both outstanding!
Would go again if I ever go back to London.
Amazing dishes! The Beef Wellington and the fish and chips were superb!
One of the best pub in London. Excellent English food and recipes!!
Best chicken and beef Wellington I’ve ever had
Fish and chips is a huge portion.
The beef Wellington was the best I’ve ever had and the local bitter was a perfect compliment! The desserts were delicious as well. Service impeccable and staff very friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend!!!
Great food and atmosphere in an authentic old pub / restaurant hidden away down a mews. We went on our anniversary and were very happy with our experience.
A wonderful gastroopub. Recommended.
Incredible Food! We ordered Beef Wellington and Bone In Ribeye with Bernaisse Sauce. Both were divine. Ambiance is unique and comfortable. Highly recommend this restaurant.
The food and service was excellent. Beef Wellington was fantastic. Really nice pub, bit of a hidden gem, would highly recommend :)
Cute place, hidden off the main roads from tourists. Great food and service. Definitely going back when in London again.
Lovely hidden away little pub, food was excellent, great wine selection and very friendly staff.
Great food and beer and an old fashioned pub welcome from the Landlord. Great way to spend a Friday lunchtime!
Excellent food. We had both the cod and Beef Wellington. Both were outstanding. It is very difficult to find so start out early.
Amazing food and all round experience. We chose this on a recommendation and were not disappointed. We are from Cornwall and had initially booked another venue, but had excellent feedback about The Grenadier and decided to make the switch. All food was exceptional, great wine list and vibe about the place. It's tucked away at the end of a mews close, so you need to hunt this place out, but it is well worth it on all fronts.
We had a nice lunch here, the food was very good and the manager came to check on us during our visit which was nice. Little slow on service at times
Great find... very British and very quaint spot. Good solid food and nicely presented. Go early for a drink.
Small family-owned pub that is very busy for many reasons. Great bar, lively crowd, very good food (Beef Wellington and fish & chips). Nice wine list.
Beef Wellington is not to be missed!!
Great birthday dinner with friends! As a vegetarian I had the mushroom toast, then the veggie curry and finished with sticky toffee pudding! All the dishes were full of flavor and delicious!!
We all loved the food, the ambiance, and the choices for drinks!
The Grenadier fulfilled all our expectations of a great English pub: great beers, good food and old English atmosphere. When we arrived, the steps outside swarmed with young professionals, having their pints and conversations. Inside, the bar is the first thing you see, with a number of beers on tap, including their own brew, which I tried and loved. We were seated in a small room in the back, that had just three tables (there were more rooms for dining) — very cozy! We had the fish and chips and beef Wellington. Both were very good. I would highly recommend putting this pub on your list when visiting London.
We have been to London several
Times beginning in 1981. Always start our trip at the Grenadier. Good food and super atmosphere
Had the traditional Sunday roast. The pork melted off the fork, the beef was delicious. The vegetables were delicious. Interesting building tho rather surly server at the beginning.
We loved this place! Small selection but British through and through!
Historical and charming. Good food and brew. Worth a visit for a pint!
Tiny space and pretty hot, but the food, ambiance, and service were spectacular. I would've gone back during our stay if we'd had the time.
Best beef Wellington ever.
Went on a recommendation and did not disappoint. Friendly staff, very good pub food, good beer selection. Tiny, so make reservations to be safe. And sign a dollar bill and staple to ceiling!
The only beef Wellington which can be eaten under the portrait of the Duke of Wellington
First time eating here after being a favourite spot for a few pints. The service was slow and the wait for drinks was 25 minutes so that was disappointing. Food good not great. Probably better as a drink spot and grab some food spontaneously if hungry.
Great food, ales, staff and ambiance; staple your dollar bill to the ceiling with personal message!
This was our first visit to the Grenadier and the food was very good. The dining area is quite small- the pub itself is not huge, so it is worth booking if you want to eat there or you may be disappointed.
Beef Wellington is always excellent. One of us had the whole fish dish. it was just perfect. even ate all the crispy skin. we have been coming to The Grenadier on each of our trips to London. It never fails to deliver. how well they maintain their long=lasting reputation.
Overall this was an amazing place to dine and have a pint. My family and I reserved a table well in advance on OpenTable for 6pm. Let me tell you that this was the right time to come for our Monday visit as the place was just starting to get patrons. We decided to have the Wellington, which was perfectly cooked. Great starters and desert on the menu as well which we thoroughly enjoyed. We will be visiting this place again on future visits to London!!! Great food and service all around!
We went to this gorgeous little pub for Sunday roast. Tucked away on a quiet mews, it was the perfect spot to escape the crowds. The food was stunning - great portions, amazing Yorkshire puds, chicken & pork roasts were perfect, and the best beef wellington! The veggie wellington was also delicious! Desserts were fabulous! Service was great with a real personal touch. This place is a gem, and we’ll definitely be back again soon!
Friendly atmospheric lovely clientele
I measure the value of a Pub menu based on Fish and Chips price, and it was nice to know that the price of your Fish and Chips, is very similar to that in the South west of England where I live, and the portion was huge, loved having the pea mash. Extremely good value, for an area that would charge you a fortune for air to breathe, if they could.
Great authentic English pub. Good Fish&Chips and Scallop appetizer.
