The beef wellington was awesome!
It's a cool old pub in a posh neighborhood. My partner thought his food was great but it was my birthday dinner and I was excited for the beef Wellington. It was really rare and just ok. Good thing is you don't have to pay extra for sides since it comes with potato and spinach. Overall, a bit disappointing.
The Grenadier is a great place to have a drink and eat. A cozy, historic pub we go to every visit to London
Intimate pub with great selection of beers in a historic setting. Sunday supper was perfection.
As everytime we love to come. Food is always good. The booking was very easy. People are nice.
Small pub that is walking distance to the theater district. The Beef Wellington is very good as are the desserts. Our waiter was not that friendly but overall we had a very nice time there.
The history of the place is great, but the service is not good. This was my second visit there. I would not go back.
Love this place. So much history and charm, and the food is good too.
This is a proper Belgravia back street boozer - tiny and intimate with some great beers on tap. The food is certainly not bog standard pub grub - it is far, far better than that
Mike and I brought our very good friends to enjoy all aspects of the Grenadier. It never fails to provide a wonderful atmosphere to enjoy. Love visiting the area. Thank you ❤️
An interesting pub in a quiet lane in Belgravia. Small and you need to book to get a table or wait. Even then very tight for space and expect to be part of everyone’s conversation. A quaint and interesting environment and the beer was pretty good (Camden pale ale). The service at lunch time was really slow but reasonably pleasant once seated at the table. The soup was ok but the fish and chips were largely inedible. The “fish” was mainly hard oily batter with not much fish underneath and the chips not much better. I left two thirds of the food untouched - not that the serving team seemed at all bothered. Go for the beer and stand outside. Do not bother with the food.
Delicious dinner at a very cool spot. Old hidden pub that's got some history, friendly staff, and great food. Bring a small bill of any currency and add it to the ceiling.
Very nice pub in a lovely area-highly recommend the Beef Wellington but be prepared for the wait
The restaurant was very nice for our trip to London. Would recommend to a friend
Been going here for some time now and it's our favourite pub in London. Very well run pub.
Really enjoyed the Old world atmosphere, the food was great, service was polite and attentive. We were having a business lunch and it was easy to speak and get the job done.
Amazing Sunday Roast
Cramped and a bit loud but atmospheric and good classic English food.
Had an early supper on a Saturday afternoon, pub was busy but we had a table reserved. Staff were attentive, the food was divine testified by the 4 clean plates for both dinner and dessert. Bit cramped London prices so don't expect a cheap bill. Throughly enjoyed it.
Very good food and ambience. Beef wellington is a must try and the sticky toffee pudding will definitely not leave you hanging.
The best Pub in London as far as I am concerned. Been going there for over 20 years now. Must haves are the Bloody Merry, Beef Wellington, and Toffee Pudding.
Historic pub in Belgravia. One of the oldest pubs in London, the Grenadier is where the Queen’s Grenadier’s would have a pint 🍺 or two or three after their duty shift was over. What used to be the horse 🐴 stables is now multi-million pound townhouses. The pub is filled with regimental photos and memorable trinkets of days gone by. The restaurant area of the pub is small so reservations are recommended. Great pub food and ambiance. Wonderful for a casual night out in Belgravia.
Always a treat to bring newcomers to London to this 200 year old gem in Belgravia.
The Bloody Mary is a must!
This is a tiny pub with minute dining tables (and not a lot of them) so if you want to eat be sure to book. The food was good, presented well and the service good. It's a historic pub with bags of atmosphere. The only downer was that we didn't check our bill closely enough and discovered when we got home that in addition to our meal & drinks we'd paid for someone else's beers and snacks. Moral of the story scrutinise your bill carefully before payment.
What a great place. The whole ambiance was fantastic. Get the Beef Wellington. Highly recommend.
Fantastic service, couldn't have done more to accommodate my party (even as i'd miscounted the number of people so in theory we were one place short, but we were even given a spare table / chairs to put our coats on to make us feel more comfortable). Amazing food as usual. Thank you!
Always wanted to visit for the Beef Wellington when in London. Finally got the chance today. Excellent, as advertised!
Kein Geheimtipp mehr aber wirklich tolles Ambiente und gutes Essen. Gerne wieder :)
Top notch pub. Worth a walk or drive to get there. My husband and I will return.
It is not what it used to be.
They changed the menu and food is not as good.
A unique spot hidden in London.
Always fun to visit and great food.
A real English pub in London! we enjoyed many nice places in the south of the UK and we found a similar atmosphere there with real ales, a nice outcome, and fantastic food! The quality of the ingredients, their combination and simplicity are a real pleasure. The fish and chips is light and tasty, the sauces are just perfectly balanced and the dishes cooked the way they should.
I would strongly recommend it.
If you are looking for an authentic and cozy place, this is what you need. Great service and outstanding food. The fish & chips was the best ever and the salmon will stay on mind for a long long time. Top!
As an ex-regular, I can only state that all I have scored you on, over time, has only improved. Keep it up since this is a rare outcome in these - success leading to Franchise and Franchise leading to overall poorer quality - days.
If The Grenadier weren't so popular, it could be a cosy place to have a meal or have some beers in a traditional setting. However, it has a well-earned reputation so it was quite crowded on the night I visited--to the point it was best to just eat and leave. That said, the Beef Wellington alone is worth a detour. Bonus points for the friendly service and good beer selection.
Una serata incantevole in un luogo unico e raro. Cibo eccellente, forse non economicissimo ma all’altezza e oltre delle nostre aspettative. Servizio informale ma calibrato, garbato e accogliente.
Food much improved over previous years and the Sunday lunch menu is highly recommended. As a "drinking" pub which is off the beaten path it remains one of the best.
Charming pub with great character. Thanks for being accommodating in pushing back reservation last minute.
A beautiful, character-filled pub down a lovely mews, we love the Grenadier, and it helps that the food is of such great quality (unlike most pubs) and the service is so charming and helpful.
Great pub with lots of history and delicious food. Looking forward to returning!
