Taking hospitality back to its roots with a warm welcome from our genuinely friendly team breathing new life back into the heart of the community.
The menu will offer daily, hyper-seasonal specials, and plenty of British game, meat and fish. Executive chef and owner, Jamie Dobbin is passionate about local sourcing and traditional dishes, such as Half dozen Porthilly rock oysters with shallot dressing, Brixham King scallops with burnt butter cauliflower and caviar or Portland hogget Shepherd’s pie with grilled cutlet.
Serious meat lovers can expect 45 day aged native and rare breed steak on offer as well as a hero dish of Beef Wellington for two. Fish is of course wild, sustainable, and British, sourced from day boats on the South coast with the daily catch delivered straight to the door in a matter of hours. There is a handsome bar menu too, and as always, Sunday roasts are a big fixture on the menu every week.

    We had been regular diners at The Greyhound (including a party on Christmas Day 2022) until about six months ago when we had a very disappointing meal (Monday night, poor quality food) and we hadn’t been back. Yesterday completely turned out thoughts around. The food (skate wings/risotto/desserts) was superb, Michelin star standard! We will definitely come back.

    Really good food for very amazing prices on the weekday lunch menu - would thoroughly recommend. Lovely waiting staff too.

    First time eating at The Greyhound and something we will repeat again. Sunday lunch was plentiful (bottomless refill on vegetables, roast potatoes and pigs in blankets) cooked well and good value for money. It's a must on your list if you like good food and a nice atmosphere

    A really nice pub serving great food at a fair price. Friendly and attentive service, not feeling rushed or that you were waiting for any extended periods of time. Dining room had a nice atmosphere as was quite busy, showing its popularity and that did not impact the quality of the food or service as result. Would recommend

    We had been to an event at a Michellin star restaurant in London the previous evening and enjoyed the Greyhound far more. The food was far tastier and the more cohesive as dishes. The quantity is amazing too.

    We had a great meal at The Greyhound. All courses were very good, my husband particularly liked the roast pork. The portions were just right. The restaurant was clean and the service was friendly and efficient. We sat outside as we took our dog with us and were bugged with wasps which was unfortunate but couldn't be helped. We will definitely go back. Highly recommend.

    What a lovely evening in a beautiful pub! Superb Roast Beef and Pork. Super service from all the team! Will definitely be returning!
