We arrived on time for a 1pm lunch and were met by our waitress, she showed us to the table, we had requested a round table and that's what we got with a wonderful full length window next to us. The restaurant was empty! But apparently they don't usually do Saturday lunch times!! (We felt a little special). The food was really good and although we were the only ones there we didn't feel rushed at all. Overall we had a lovely time, many thanks "The Grill" ...
Very well presented and tasty food but expensive wine prices.
A restaurant with good food but still expensive according to the global added value.
The food is good but not outstanding.
Wine is average.
Prices are exorbitant.
Value for money 1*
We wanted a place with good food, ambiance and something special. Wanting Al A Carte. We decided on The Grill after seeing its impressive online menu, which excited and appealed. The online system was easy to book so we headed off to the train station as its in the next town. When we got there we found the online photos were done by a genius because the whole ambiance they gave off was not present. It was a hotel breakfast area which converts for evening meals. We were handed a single large sheet which was the menu (A3 size). The Menu was different to the one online, all burgers, pizzas and sandwiches. When I asked about the online menu I was told it was out of date by over a year, no manager offered an apology. We left and went elsewhere.
As always just getting better and better, would highly recommend to any one who value highly skilled chefs and fantastic quality food. A*
Very friendly staff, I liked it although the decor was a little less desirible then lead to expect but over all good meal and outstanding service.
The hotel is impressive. The Grill is well laid out with decent room between tables. The food was excellent, expecially the steak. We were served by attentive, polite and smiling staff.
Good food well presented, just very very expensive.
We booked a table solely for the all you can eat carvery, when booking the table, the options of times came up and I selected 7:45pm, this was a special treat for my girlfriend for an early birthday gift.
We arrived at the grill at around 7:30 to be seated and I spotted the menus on the main desk displaying various meals all individually priced,
I asked the waiter if the carvery was still available and was told that it was a lunch time only,
Looking forward to having carvery, me and my girlfriend ended up going elsewhere
I went on the site to where I'd booked the table and still there was no obvious sign of a 'Lunch time' only carvery
So this doesn't happen again Ican only suggest you amend the advert and make it clearer
Lovely lunch - the buffet style starters, desserts and cheese board were a great idea and had some great choices. Un-rushed and pleasant atmosphere and service was excellent.
We ate here the evening before flying on holiday and the meal was just what we needed, adequate choice, sensible portions, service fine, all in a modern, clean setting and prices average - just what we needed in fact.
Group of 6 had a pleasant unhurried evening meal. Food was good and considered value for money. Would go again.
Booked this for mother's day expecting a proper menu. I'd called prior to coming as advised by TopTable and was not told that there would only be a buffet at £25 a head. Ruined my mother's surprise. This is supposed to one of the better restaurants in Crawley - shocking!
The food was pretty good but they and run out of most of the seafood. Our table was booked for 2.15 but it was 2.35 before we were seated. We waited at the bar before being called for our table and tried to get a drink but nobody served us. There plenty of staff about but nobody seemed to be dealing with the bar area. When we got to our table we ordered our drinks and were told that someone would be with us shortly to explain how the buffet worked. It took another 10 minutes or o before a waiter came to us and another 10 minutes before our drinks arrived. it took quite a while for our plates to be cleared. Bearing in mind it was Mother's Day and the price if Sunday lunch was dearer than a normal Sunday I would have expected better service
A very inviting restaurant adjacent to a very spacious bar area. I would recommend allowing time for a pre-dinner drink in the bar area as this has a wonderful water feature, The food was excellent and the lighting and ambience just right for an enjoyable evening meal
As always it in nice to see very good customer service - they keep that on a high level and always present.
Food was very good, service too. I would highly recommend - I am trying to orgenise friend together for one evening to come for a meal - very good food and I am a foodie :o)
My Husband and I ordered 2 medium rare sirloin steaks, when they arrived and we cut into them they were almost raw in the centre. We told the waiter who took them away, although the vegetables were left. After about 5 minutes replacement steaks were delivered but when we cut into them they were also raw not medium rare.
These were also returned and luckily the now cold vegetables were taken too. Steaks number 3 were cooked perfectly but the whole experience was less than satisfactory and I would never eat there again. We did receive a reluctant sorry from our very surly waiter.
We do not like complaining but could not have eaten the first 2 steaks, the hotel itself cannot be faulted, it is a shame the Grill, in our opinion let it down.
I took a date with me to The Grill on Friday 4th January 2013 and whilst a special occasion for myself, we both left feeling as if we had been given a culinary treat. The food was presented in style, extremely sumptuous and we were catered for in a very friendly yet professional manner.
I have to nod particular appreciation to The Grill for the way in which they treated me as I have a nut and peanut allergy. The Head Chef came out to go through the menu with me personally to describe how certain dishes may have nut traces. He went further to make a dessert from scratch and not on the menu to ensure no nuts were present. It is this level of service and genuine care for his customers that make this restaurant one to remember in the future.
The food is a carnivores delight - several cuts of steak and various grills with a few vegetarian options. It is not cheap (approx £17-25 for main course) but was of a high standard and beautifully presented.
My starter of vodka cured salmon with pistachios was imaginative and tasted wonderful.
Hubbys scallops were cooked perfectly. My fillet steak was fantastically presented and the triple cooked chips were the best I have had.
The little touches and attentiveness were spot on right down to giving us complimentary champagne when we mentioned our anniversary to knowing we arrived in a taxi and offering to call one for us at the end of the meal.
All in all a lovely time and I would return there again in a heartbeat - Highly recommended.
This was a fantastic evening food was amazing service was amazing outstanding place to eat very frenidly & even the chef comes to see you to make sure your are completely satisfied with your meal outstanding & can not wait to go again i would recommended this to everyone.
This restaurant is a nice change from many hotel restaurants. The food was great, with good choice for vegetarians and a decent amount of fish on the menu. Locally sourced food featured on the menu, the staff were attentive without being intrusive. It was quiet but overall a great experience. I would go back again.
We had dinner at Galluci's. Our servers paid us lots of attention and the starter and drinks came out on time. As well as the main course and dessert. The ambience was superb with an air of maturity and serenity. I enjoyed my steak and my partner enjoyed her pork. Simply wonderful............
The food and the service was lovely. Could not fault it.
Very good Sunday Carvery. Head Chef very friendly and he appeared to offer the buzz of the restaurant. Waiting staff very attentive but without being overbearing. We will certainly come here again.
