The Grill from Ipanema - DC
The brazilian national dish. A rich stew of black beans, dry beef, pork, sausage and smoked meat, served with collard greens, rice, farofa and sweet orange wedges. Africans who arrived in brazil between the 16th and 19th centuries created this dish
Our customer's favorite dish to share. A wonderful combination of shrimp, mussels, squid, fish, clams and rice, prepared in a spicy green sauce of cilantro, watercress, jalapenos, green pepper, garlic, curry powder, white wine and olive oil, served in a clay pot
Capixaba or baiana
Everyone was friendly and welcoming -- both the cocktails and food were great. The fish stew was different than anything I have had before and delicious.
Great Brazilian food, reasonably priced.
Good! Nice people, excellent food.
It was Brazil game. The food was not that great and they lacked in structure to attend the number of people. But the overall energy was great
It was great
I’ve been here many times. The food and staff are both incredible. Highly recommend.
Great experience! Food is always amazing and the staff is super friendly
Our friend who served in the Peace Corps years ago loved this place! It was the highlight of his visit here.
I have been visiting this Brazilian spot in AdMo for years and never a bad experience! Thanks to very friendly owners and staff. The Seafood Paella is simply spectacular. The Croquettes are also a delight. The overall menu provides great depth of choice and one is highly unlikely not to find something to rave about!!! Thank you and keep up the great work.
Good food, service, location and vibe. Will definitely return.
A true GEM in Kalorama! I will definitely go back soon.
I got the salmon with vegetables. Both good. Drink was good too. Friendly service
Loved The Grill from Ipanema! The food was so delicious and the staff was very kind. Plus the alcohol is a really great price!
I was impressed at the size, the considerate and fast service and lovely decoration. It has one of the most extensive and interesting menues I’ve ever seen. While every thing was delicious, the rump steak was extremely tasty and extremely difficult to chew.
It was quite possibly one of my favorite dining experiences of all time!
Very attentive, personable staff. Food delicious and hearty portions. Great value for the $$.
We enjoyed our visit to the grill. Staff was welcoming and helpful. We had a few rounds of caipirinhas that were delicious. Most of us ordered the feijoada and found it tasty but could have had a bit more meat. Finding a parking spot as typical in DC was difficult. We will return when we have the urge for Brazilian food.
This was our third visit and it gets better with time! The food is amazing, the cocktails are all homeruns, and the service is exemplary - the wait staff were always available and never intrusive.
Great time here-the food was great, service and ambience is superb! Great first date option.
As good as hoped for. Great food, helpful staff. Definitely going back.
The food was delicious, the drinks was very good. Our waitress did a great job. Highly recommend.
Amazing food and quick kind service will go again
I would go back and order the "moqueca baiana" every day!
This place is simply fantastic. The food is terrific. The service is great. The drinks are so fun and so well made. Good prices. Can't say enough good things. I had the seafood stew on the chef's special and was tempted to drink straight from the bowl it was so good. The appetizers are also amazing, you could do tapas-style here as well.
Authentic Brazilian food and drinks in a relaxed , casual , clean and service oriented environment
Best brunch deal in town
Awesome experience and amazingly large portions! We will definitely be back.
One of my favorite authentic Brazilian restaurants in DC.
Food was delicious, service was great, a great meal overall!
Took out of town guests for dinner and they were very impressed. Drinks, food, service, ambience were all great. Hospitable staff. Delicious food and good portions. Would come back again soon.
Good food, but a bit too modified to American taste.
Outdoor seating available, off the main drag. Welcoming staff, pleasant atmosphere outside. Food took a while to come and was just so so. Lamb chop was ordered medium rare but came out well done. Steak was cooked to the right temperature but flavor was lacking. Prices were high for quality of food. Owner/manager was very kind and attentive. Would recommend for a small bite but not a full course meal.
Great authentic Brazilian food! Friendly staff and outdoor seating.
I don't know which made our get-together more fun the service or the high quality of the different, interesting and delicious food. We split an appetizer between the 4 of and as well as a desert, but each order our own entree. The portions were so big we took enough home to supply my husband and myself with two additional meal. It was a nice night, lovely to eat outside and greet neighborhood friends passing by. The menu was long and varied, but we received excellent advice from the owner of the restaurant.
Amazing food. A very friendly and professional staff. Reasonable prices and no long waits for food. The brunch menu is a great offer! Português é falado aqui.
Food was ok
Took My fiance out on Valentine's Day. She loved it , we both got the rack of Lamb. If you are able to get a good seat then it is definitely a place you can take someone to sweep them off their feet ( for a budget ) .
The services was amazing. The food was just ok. I had the Filet Mignon and my partner has the rib eye.
The wait staff was amazing and super attentive. I would return just for them.
This was our first time at a Brazilian restaurant and it was one of the best meals we've had in DC. The steak was cooked perfectly and was tender and juicy. Every item from the appetizer to the dessert was filled with awesome flavor. Would recommend it and we will definitely be coming back.
We went to celebrate a friends birthday and this was the first time for each of us. We each ordered something different. Two got the Caldo De Feijao and one got the Salada Verde. Both were delicious. We each then ordered different dishes so we could sample off of each other's plates. Great idea. One got the Passaro Preto, one got the Feijoda and one got the Carre a Mineira - great choices and everyone loved their meals. Great portions and we all had food to take home. We ordered desserts but could not eat them cause we were so stuffed from the entree and appetizer. We had great drinks and took the desserts home and vowed that we would return again. I would definitely recommed to anyone wanting great Brazilian food.
I had a special birthday dinner there.
