The Habit in the South London Gallery is a cosy cafe divided into two rooms - one facing the front and street and the other overlooking the beautiful back garden through large class windows. The atmosphere is quiet and peaceful, perfect for a weekend brunch or lunch. The service is good for the most part with friendly staff. However, on this specific occasion, it took 45 minutes for our drinks and good to be served to us. Upon enquiring with the server, we discovered that our order hadn't been placed with the kitchen to begin with. This was quite disappointing as everyone around us was receiving their food and even leaving the cafe before we were even served. The service staff didn't make any special effort to apologise or compensate us for the long wait.
I'd still recommend this cafe for its beautiful atmosphere. However, I hope that the service improves in future.
Sat outside in the sunshine eating delicious pancakes with rhubarb. Good service. Will be going back.
A fantastic breakfast in a lovely location. The staff were very attentive and the atmosphere was great.
Lovely venue and friendly staff. Food was average and expensive. Very salty. Better for brunch than dinner
Food and wine were outstanding. Pity was not more busy but would still highly recommend
Very enjoyable evening, delicious wine and food. The front room has good acoustics so much easier to chat in than some other local restaurants.
