The Harrods Tea Rooms
Slow service and average food.
It was just lovely. Great service. Live piano music is such a nice touch too.
Food presentation could be better.
Very nice and kids friendly. Our waiter was really nice. Desserts were amazing
A very nice Christmas treat
Lots of replenishment of tea and cakes
Friendly and professional service
Unfortunately there was some young children in restaurant the were crying
We visited when the children were singing which was delightful. We were very full after our food but was offered more and nothing was too much trouble
Amazing! 🙌🏽 I went for my 30th, had a lovely time!
It is a lovely atmosphere in the middle of a very busy department store. It is unfortunate they do not enforce their dress code. People with baseball caps, torn jeans, and dirty tennis shoes should not be seated in such a place. Otherwise, if one can ignore the slobs it is a nice place for lunch, though somewhat limited in the menu offerings.
Get first high tea/ afternoon tea experience!
Een super gezellige afternoon tea gehad. Op verzoek een mooi tafeltje gekregen. Zeer vriendelijk personeel die er alles aan doen je tevreden te stellen.
Waited an extraordinary amount of time for our meal, only for half of it to be missing and the fish so dry it was inedible. Not enough staff on the floor to manage the amount of covers, wine was poured by ourselves, overall incredibly disappointing.
As this was a special treat for my birthday with my mum I was very disappointed when we were reminded we only had table for one and a half hrs and would have to leave ...On arrival we were told we should eat our sandwiches and scones would be taken out fresh when we were ready . We did this and told waiter when we were ready for them and waited at least half an hour after which our waiter told a gentleman to go to the kitchen to find out what was happening. Eventually scones arrived we would have liked to have had time to eat our cakes but after eating two we were approached by a waitress asking if we were aware that our time was up .We explained about the delay with the scones and we were offered a box for remaining cakes .We declined as we did not travel from Inverness to London to get a doggy bag .We settled our bill and left feeling very let down as this was the main purpose for our visit to London . Not an experience we care to remember I’m afraid .
Lovely 1.5h spent with my daughter! A happy place and a moment of serenity in the midst of crazy Christmas shopping. Great service and great food. Can highly recommend it to all of my family and friends.
Very very very expensive....
59£ for 4 sandwiches 2 scones and 4 cakes plus tea
In a very nice atmosphere we were seated waiting for nice and expensive tea time.
Food very basic in general.. sad sandwiches full of no good quality filled.. vegetables and little bit salmon and chicken.. but very poor and basic quality.
Scones ok but cold and sweets very nice and tasty.
Expensive price we paid to obtain no worth expected experience.
Won’t come again.
We went to harrods tea rooms for afternoon tea ax a 70th birthday treat for me. The service was very poor and slow.we had to wait for about fifteen minutes for our table.we had to keep calling the waiter for service. The £59.00 charge per person is very high for the level of service we received. When we finished and asked for our coats they had lost my husbands scarf and had the cheek to suggest he wasn’t wearing it when we came in.Overall a very disappointing experience.
Never again! Table of 9 pre-booked for birthday lunch with dietary requirements and children. We were expecting the Christmas lunch menu, but on arrive told that as there were more than 6 of us we could only have it if we all had it. There was no vegan menu and no suitable alternatives for younger members of the group. Waiter and manager were very rude and there are no exceptions to this rule even for dietary requirements.
This mean we all had to skip the meal we were expecting and have something of the normal menu. This would have been fine if we were told I'm advance, we were told the opposite otherwise we wouldn't have booked.
To top off the rude argumentative staff, a waiter also noticed a hair on a dish as it was being placed and took it back to replace. This meant one member of the group had to eat after us.
Overall the birthday lunch was ruined and was embarrassing to be arguing over dietary requirements in a busy restaurant. Not the service you expect from Harrods. Never again, it's just not the same as it use to be.
was seated near the entrance that was very crafty ...asked to move to less draft area....you should consider those tables near the entrance to be a cold draft area in winter time...was moved without a problem to a warmer area.overall superb and outstanding as you would expect from Harrods.
This was our second visit to the t rooms having previously visited in the summer with a really positive experience, superb service and really nice atmosphere.
Unfortunately it didn’t start well when we were asked whether we had made the booking for lunch or tea and had anticipated lunch and visit to the cake table that we had last time. When I said this was our intention they said sorry no longer do we do that and you should have been advised of this by telephone as it stopped 17 November.
We were advised we can still get cakes from the menu anyway however so went ahead as we also had our 4.5 year old with us and another guest whom we had taken for the experience.
We initially were served quickly and order taken however the service then became very slow. I ordered smoked salmon which was nice but very small portion but came with a even smaller 3 pieces of rye bread without butter. When I tried to get attention it took quite some time to get someone to come and request some butter ( to be fair I was offered an option of salted or unsalted which was nice).
We also tried to order extra water and again struggled to get someone but this was eventually resolved.
After our lunch we were offered a desert menu and having been told there was still a large selection of cakes available we were rather disappointed with the quite limited list also not including scones and all at a very high price (10.75) for what is a small piece of cake.
Due to the time it had taken already we quickly ordered one coffee as our guest was catching a train and we did not find the selection of cakes as expected.
Overall I think we should have been called to advise the cake table had been taken away given we had booked before that time and it is still being advertised on Harrods website today with the lovely selection of cakes and tartlets none of which are actually available.
I've been here a few times now for special occasions. Absolutely the best afternoon tea ever. The ambience and the service is definitely top notch. beautiful piano playing in the back and the quiet hum of conversation, elegant and classy. Love it.
Very friendly staff, amazing service. Fabulous food & drink. Throughly enjoyed our experience. Will definitely be booking and going again.
Amazing food and atmosphere. Even better that they gave us additional scones to take home. Service could have been a bit quicker but certainly didn’t ruin the occasion
Husbands birthday and was surprised with a piano lead happy birthday song and cake
My niece Becky’s 15th birthday
Our annual day trip from the Cotswolds to London for Christmas lunch with friends. We were very well looked after by Aidan - both service and food was excellent.
Great selection of tea...
We had a fantastic afternoon. The whole experience was amazing.
Always a delightful experience. Beautiful restaurant with outstanding service.
Perfect high tea experience for our trip.
On the pricey side, but the food, the service, and the atmosphere was excellent.
Had a lovely time. Food was excellent. The waitress was so lovely and took great care of us. The whole experience was great from start to finish. Would highly recommend going.
Amazing afternoon tea, one of the best afternoon teas I have had and so much better than the Ritz
I would definitely book Harrods. Again
My best friend and I went for afternoon tea, it wasn't fantastic but lovely. Very over priced bottle of water !. Food was lovely . Staff were very friendly. Don't like the "surcharge" added on to the bill. Was very busy
Had lovely service and would definitely return , the food was lovely and a fantastic waiter who made our afternoon ..
Great food cakes were delicious lovely warm scones. Excellent service
Great place, very typical, very nice service, food is good too. The only exception is the staff at the entrance, never really friendly or pleasant and judgemental.
Was lovely but chairs were uncomfortable for my elderly father. Hard wood backs! We were not offered a refill of our tea which we finished before any of our food arrived. It was nice but not exceptional.
It was a delightful afternoon, with lovley food staff and Ambiance. Dissappointing that you were unable to choose alternative cake if you do not like it. Saying that it was a great afternoon, thank you to you all,
Very enjoyable Birthday treat. The timing was spot on, no pressure to rush and had plenty of time. We had the afternoon tea for four people and there was more than enough to eat and very good as well. Started with a choice of Teas, we all went for the English Breakfast [so good we bought so loose tea from the tea hall].
The sandwiches were varied and tasty. Cakes were excellent and good to find the full size versions in the food hall to buy and take away [if we had not bought so much on our shopping trip then we would have bought some]. The scones were so light and freshly baked that they were easily the best we had ever had.
Thoroughly recommended by all four of us.
