The Hawthorn is a Georgian gem in the heart of Haworth, packed full of period features offering a relaxed environment to unwind with friends and family. This warm and appealing gastropub has been renovated throughout to showcase an array of local antiques including a stunning array of Barraclough clocks, homage to John Barraclough himself, Clockmaker to the Brontes, who used to live in this very building in the Georgian era.

We serve only food made using the freshest seasonal British produce and our menu changes through the weeks to reflect this.

We have a custom-made Josper charcoal grill which is the hottest indoor grill available and used by the best restaurants in the country. Cooking on the Josper ensures none of the natural moisture or flavour escapes from the food, whilst at the same time adding the distinct chargrilled taste.

Its reputation is now unfortunately out which means Sundays are a little hard to come by unless plan months ahead…but they deserve the recognition. Its is genuinely the best Sunday lunch in the UK (and that beats some fantastic local competition from Michelin establishments …which are also fantastic…but the hawthorn pips angel at hetton, star at harome, abbey inn bland, Freemasons wiswell and others. We’re blessed up north with great pubs/restaurants and we love the fact the Hawthorn is on our doorstep!

Excellent service and beautiful food. Table for 2 by the window upstairs was perfect for us. Sunday Roast and dessert amongst the best we have had.

Great food, great service and decent pricing. You pay for the quality of food and portion sizes. The staff had a good attitude towards alergy sufferers which is sometimes hard to find. Would definitely recommend!

We live locally and this was our 5th visit to the Hawthorn. There's nowhere we'd rather eat. Three of us ordered 2 starters and two mains between us, all vegetarian, and a desert each. Everything was fresh, good quality and beautifully presented. My favourites were the courgette starter and the dark chocolate delice, both of which looked like works of art and tasted sublime. We shared a bottle of Primitovo from Puglia, which was perfect. Our waitress, Maisie, was professional and charming and we had a wonderful evening.

Another lovely Sunday lunch at The Hawthorn. We sat outside on the cobbles & had a cocktail, before being shown to our table. The service & food was exceptional as always! Make sure you book in advance as it’s very popular & rightly so. We love it here!

This has to be THE best Sunday dinner in West Yorkshire! Friendly, polite staff, relaxed ambience and delicious, tasty food. You have to book months in advance but my goodness it’s worth it.

Great food. Amazing building and location. Thoroughly enjoyed the food. We shared a fish board and dessert and found it very filling. Nice atmosphere thought our only issue was the popular music which was not conducive to the setting. That’s a minor point. Would highly recommend this restaurant and hope to return.

We love it here, they even brought a doggy bed and biscuits for our dog and he loves it here too, lovely ambience, decor, service and great food
