The Haywain Pub
Excellent meal and fantastic food as always.
Portions were very good. Steak pie sandfish and chips were particularly enjoyed.
We’ve been here several times for Sunday lunch and we’ve never had a bad meal. All home cooked and delicious . We did have to ask for another portion of cauliflower cheese this time as we only received enough for one. Maybe we were greedy but staff were very obliging and brought another one. Nothing is too much trouble .
Fantastic food was amazing service was amazing it was great value. Deffo be back
Lovely food and great for breakfast .. simply delicious. Staff lovely and very helpful. Super selection for Vegan and Vegetarian.
We had an excellent meal at the Haywain and will certainly visit again. Highly recommended to family and friends.

Always a great breakfast. Hubbies brekkie was a little cold but as soon as we told them they came back with a piping hot replacement. Service second to none and always tasty food!!
Enjoyed a lovely Sunday lunch with the family at this hidden gem. Greta service and great food. Highly recommend.
We had a lovely meal at The Haywain. Great choice on the menu. Food really fresh and the puddings were to die for! Lovely warm cosy atmosphere and staff very pleasant. Would definitely recommend. We will definitely return soon. Thank you!
Staff so helpful and friendly ,food amazing as well such a hidden gem here
Very nice food and atmospheres . There was no rush also during our visit
We live locally and often visit the Haywain. We are never disappointed. The waitresses are so very lovely; nothing is too much trouble and they are always smiling. The food is absolutely delicious, good sized portions and presented well. Desserts are particularly good. We always leave thoroughly full up and glad that the Haywain is our local. Great pub!
Our table was a little bit to close to the door to the room at rear with people coming and going but also at the other end of the table where I sat my back was to the very noisy I assume coffee machine. We had already settled in our quite large party by the time I realised how loud and anoying the noise was or I would have requested a move.
However, it was a very good very well cooked breakfast with excellent and welcoming service.
Lovely breakfast on New Year’s Day! Perfect start to the year. Always absolutely outstanding service and absolutely delicious food. Thank you 🙏🏽
A great experience. First time at the Haywain - met by a roaring fire and welcoming atmosphere. Food was good and the service brilliant. Well done The Haywain
Lovely country pub with a very inviting open fire. Lovely food and fantastic service. Love the doggy snack bar area too. Thank you
Really good cooking of the highest standard fully justified the price - three course for 3 adults with drinks for 82 pounds! The pate starter, whole roast pheasant and the apple crumble pudding were of exceptional standard, and very good portions. Dog-friendly too, with a "dog bar". And served in a bay in front of anopen log fire. The fifth meal there, and if anything the quality has improved each time.
Excellent Sunday roast and friendly staff at reasonable cost
Your meals are delicious well done to your chef not having to wait too long for food the waitresses are so polite nothing to much for them thank you
We love the haywain, especially for a family roast lunch! Always delicious and such good value for money. Thank you, keep doing what you are doing!!
Second visit in two weeks. Very impressed both times with the quality of the food, service and general value. Would highly recommend.
Very friendly and attentive staff. Food was very tasty and of good quality. Good choices of both food and drink. Have already booked for a return visit
Lovely decor, friendly attentive staff and reasonably priced food which was yummy. Lovely Saturday night spent here. We will be back that’s for certain
Delicious, delicious, delicious. We’ve never had a bad meal here, the food is superb, fresh and very tasty. Excellent value for money. Great staff, good wines & beer too. Thoroughly recommend a visit or 10.
A lovely place to meet up with our family for breakfast. Looking forward to our evening with you on my birthday in November
We received a warm welcome when we arrived. The waitress showed us to our table straight away & took our drinks order. We didn’t feel rushed to decide what we wanted to eat. The food was lovely & hot, fresh vegetables, succulent meat & home made Yorkshire puddings & gravy & the portion sizes were generous. There was also a good selection of deserts. We will definitely be booking to go there again
Great customer service, food and pub. Cannot fault it we will return
Helpful and cheerful service complements the good food
Another very nice meal at the Haywain. The ‘Flatiron Friday’ steak deal is excellent value for money .
Good food and excellent service, and very reasonable price. Much better than most pub food!
Really lovely, cosy pub. The originality of the building adds lots of character. The staff were really lovely and the food was spot on. Definitely coming again
Excellent place for evening meal, steaks superb especially Friday night special. Service is really attentive and friendly, can’t fault.
Good venue for a mid week catch up with friends. Good choice of dishes & a couple of specials were available. Good service.
Great food and friendly staff. Great Sunday roast although not a massive amount of options especially when 1 of the main dinners had no availability.
Short staffed so we had to wait a while for food. Mains didn't get cleared and we didn't get asked for dessert for about 45 minutes. By that time we had decided to leave. Roast dinner was lovely.
