I've dined at Hideout Kitchen several times, but this was the first time we had to wait nearly an hour for our food to arrive. While we were waiting, the waiter was very friendly, but he never came to give us any updates or ask if we needed more to drink. Once we received our meals, which were all very good, we still weren't offered anything or asked if we needed anything else, and I had to ask for a refill. The food is always so good, and maybe they had a big rush of customers, but the service is the reason for a slightly lower rating this time, but we will definitely continue to dine here.

We went for lunch. We were a party of four. Everything we had was very good. I had the Waffle Sandwich, which was a great combination of flavors and textures. My wife had the turkey BLT and really enjoyed it. The other two in our party had the "roasted" chicken sandwich (actually grilled chicken breast) and both said it was great. There's some overlap between the lunch and dinner menus, so it was good to have some new choices and some of the same.

We had a combination birthday and retirement dinner. Our party of four was seated in a quiet corner of the restaurant and it was perfect for us to have dinnertime conversation. The menu offered plenty of different choices to suit each of our tastes. The polenta and meatball appetizer was very good, our salads were tasty, and our entrees were cooked perfectly. The Hideout Kitchen is now a permanent fixture in our restaurant rotation.

The food was delicious and well prepared. The service staff was attentive and polite. The music was far too loud to hear each other talking.
