Located in the heart of Lymington, The Highstreet Kitchen offers a relaxed dining experience focusing primarily on local sustainable food, working with dedicated local farmers and producers. The restaurant has been a dream for Gavin Barnes for over a decade and it has now become a shared vision for the whole team.

    We had a wonderful evening meal at the High Street Kitchen. Service by the Manger and her son (only 14 years old) was superb. Food was beautifully served and great tasting. We paired our desserts with wine recommendations. Highly recommended

    A warm welcome as soon as you arrive and attentive service throughout our visit. Excellent food every time we have dined here and we will return again

    The food and service at the High street Kitchen are excellent. In our view the food is comfortably the best in Lymington. The rib of beef on Sunday is the best I have had for years, dinner is always great and the set lunch menu is quite amazing value for money. My wife and I could not recommend it highly enough.

    Very expensive but lovely food but the service does not warrant the high prices, only the taste of the food does.

    Definitely number one place to eat in Lymington now. Friendly and informal but absolutely top quality food. John Dory starter followed by skate wings cooked to perfection. I couldn’t manage a desert but my wife could (as usual😁) and reported that it was absolutely delicious. It deserves to succeed and I hope it does, as we will be back again soon!

    This is easily our favourite restaurant - we eat here on average 3-4 times each month! Gavin manages to produce interesting and unusual variations, using only the best possible ingredients - locally sourced as much as possible. His front of house staff are always friendly and attentive too.

    We had lamb and chicken, both superbly cooked with excellent ingredients. Not the cheapest eating in Lymington but excellent quality so will certainly go again.

    One of the best restaurants meals I’ve had in the UK. The menu is small and changes regularly, which means everything is fresh in season, and cooked to perfection. The portions are generous. we had chicken liver parfait and crab cocktail for starters, absolutely perfect, mains was skate wing in a beure blanc sauce , and boiled potatoes, other main was roast chicken breast with cabbage and rosti potatoes . Both were fantastic and cooked to perfection. Desert was a raspberry soufflé and lemon parfait with lemon curd , again fantastic. Service was relaxed. Highly recommended
