Very pleasant pub. Good food, pleasant and friendly staff and good value
Staff really friendly, food hot and plenty of it. Really enjoyed our dinner and would return if in area again.
It was Very quiet , so i am just basing my review on the service and food as i don't know what it would be like if busy . The young lady that served us was excellent, she had a good sense of humour and was very efficient at her job . We placed our order for drinks and food , drinks arrived within in a couple of minutes, our meals arrived about twenty minutes later and it was well worth waiting for , my wife had the lasagne with chips and garlic bread and i had the hunters chicken it was lovely hot and so tasty , the portions were excellent,. I will definitely be eating there again as it was value for money and a great eating experience
Were overlooked for food order when we did order food staff came back and said 1 item was sold out the drink order was totally messed up when the food came out it was poor quality
Not the most expentensive menu so choice is limited and as they had stock issues with several menu items not available choices were more limited. The pub wasn't busy so would expect the service to be better and sharper.
Food supplied was OK but not brilliant. Large portions are OK but the food needs to be better.
I was pleasantly surprised with the highwayman . It was a lovely pub with a warm atmosphere and friendly bar staff . The food was delicious, with plenty if choice . I’d definitely recommend going .
Great selection on the menu and all of our meals were lovely. Service was great too!
Considering the pandemic that we are all going through it was perfect. Great food good spacing ,cleaning gel, scan labels throughout. Perfect little pub to visit if passing with plenty of parking.
We ate early so not very busy. Carvery had just started, had to wait quite a while for the vegetarian option, not particularly hot, just very basic pub grub.
Someone came in with a dog, I personally don't think they should allow in an eating area
Staff were very helpful and attentive.
The gammon and steak were amazing, cooked perfectly.
Spacious tables .good choice of pub food .specials board .as we had a bit of a wait due to a busy time .the waiter came to let us know .All the staff were friendly and happy .the food was excellent .and huge puddings followed .overall we enjoyed the evening .there were 4 of us .as it was a holiday visit we. Won't be able to go again .but can recommend to friends if visiting the area
This was a meet up place halfway between my home and where a friend was on holiday so just found on Google maps. Didn't think the menu was very imaginative but actually the gammon dish was very good. Excellent fries and we were given green beans rather than peas which I'd say is a bonus!
Pretty quiet and friendly waitress.
Lovely carvery, nice staff. What else could you need on a Sunday
Had better Sunday lunch. No mash potato, well overcooked roast potato, generic gravy. On the plus side, nice meat, dog friendly.
Service was good however the menu was limited.
Most starters were not available, no prawns or mushrooms so we all had to have brie wedges.
Carvery was good but presentation could be better
Desserts were excellent and waitress was very good so will be back
Regards Kevin Powell
Beautifully cooked fish & pea purée dish. Plenty of outside seating available. Staff respectful & helpful.
Friendly staff. Made to feel welcome. Ate in garden.. Lovely. Went inside later still excellent. Food was delicious. Excellent service... Didn't wait long for food but wasn't very busy went on Thursday evening. Easy to find. Large car park. Will defoe return. Prices average nowadays for eating out tho I think it's all gone up quite a bit. Would highly recommend a visit. Enjoy!
Great food and service, definitely value for money. Excellent value
As always made to feel very welcome, all our needs catered for, staff friendly and helpful .
After a long journey and a 15min walk from our holiday cottage we were ready for our fish pie which was plentiful and very tasty with a good helping of vegetables and salad all of which we thoroughly enjoyed
Tasty food in a lovely garden setting. Friendly staff. We could have stayed all afternoon.
We had a lovely time, found all the staff very helpful and accommodating. Two of us had the carvery and were very impressed. The third person had the hunters chicken of the normal menu and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Nice food would recommended the Highwayman to my friends if they were down here on holiday.
Service felt personal. Ate there 4 nights in a week as on holiday. Wish it was my local
