The Hinksford Arms
Sunday: 12.00pm - 6.00pm
As usual faultless .home made pie great.my husband had the mixed grill and loved it
Love it here. Food is always consistantly good. Always friendly staff . Good location. Never cramped
Booked Sunday lunch through Open Table but on arriving we were told that they had no booking for us even though we had had a confirmation e mail! The restaurant was full so we were offered a table in the 'Snug'( not the best place outside the disable toilets) However the staff were most apologetic and couldn't have been nicer. Food was just o.k. Meat was good and cooked well but the vegetables were not I'm afraid. Broccoli was so overcooked it was yellow, green beans were limp, cauliflower cheese dry, roast potatoes were not crispy. All had obviously been either been reheated in a microwave or been cooked and kept warm. Nice Yorkshire's! There was plenty on the plate so it was I suppose it was good value for money however for a professional cook to serve vegetables like that is very disappointing.
Excellent food and service, good value for money. No complaints
Did not dine did state not in snug area.but marked up for snug
As always never fails on food.we can’t move after as we are so full.good value for money
As always tasty and fresh.even the vegetarian is full of flavour.going through menu bit by bit no complaints yet.
Excellent service, lovely food with a good and varied menu.
Lovely food with a good choice on the menu. Service was fine the staff were very friendly. The only thing I found disappointing was the dining area, the decor felt dated, a bit like walking into a working men's club tbh which we felt killed the ambience. With a make over it would be perfect........
Booked the table for a family meal of 10 adults and 4 children. Food was excellent value, well presented and tasty. All the staff were brilliant with the children speaking to them individually and joking with them when delivering meals to table etc. Brilliant value for money too
Excellent service and very polite staff , well done 👍
This was a friendly place and the food was very good, however, whilst the outside of the building is lovely, the inside looks like a re-decoration is badly needed, very drab, and the carpet in the restaurant area could do with a clean. Would we go back. Yes i think so, mainly because of the good service and food we received.
Made the reservation on line during the morning of the 22nd Dec for evening meal with the family . We arrived with our family of 5 at 5.30pm to be told the restaurant was closed . the bar was staffed and clients drinking . the barman just shrugged his shoulders and said he would call the chef. We were left hovering in the doorway of the restaurant with clients staring at us. The barman didn't report back to us on the the situation and simply carried on serving the people at the bar. We stood a little while longer then left the pub. No one had acknowledged us further. No one apologised and no one called after us as we left the premises. We went elsewhere - The Bell at Trysall - where we were able to secure a table and had a lovely meal. Thanks to the Bell our evening meal was rescued.
Last minute booking, table was decorated very friendly staff. Good value for money.
Are you taking the Michael!!!!!!
Booked table for Sat 16 th. Travel up from North Somerset & did not get a meal. Got turned away as they had a private party.should not have taken booking in first place. Very disappointed so won’t be going back to Himksford Arm. Barbara Timbrell
We were seated in the middle of the room and felt a bit on show. Service was excellent, food was ok if a little expensive for what it was. Very disappointed with the drab interior, needs decorating, and the carpet to the kitchen was black and sticky, not good at all. Wouldn't visit again until it's refurbed.
Every member of staff was very friendly. This was our first visit to the hinksford arms and was made to feel most welcome and would definitely return on another occasion in the future.
