The restaurant itself fuses the buildings iconic elegance whilst remaining lively and welcoming to all guests. With delicious dishes ranging from our incredible selection of small plates to share, or a wide selection of main courses.

Waited an age for wine.....starters......and mains.......then when my main arrived the burger was raw inside. it was taken away, and then waited an age for replacement. ......my wife had finished her main corse..........don't know weather I'd return to this restaurant. .....maybe.
Lovely staff, beautiful restaurant and amazing food and cocktails for the price
It seems a shame to write a bad review for The Hudson because I visit often for drinks and have been before when the food was great. This time however, and I am not sure if it was because of restaurant week/month, but the standard was a million miles away from what it usually is, primarily from a food but also service perspective.
Service: The gentleman serving us was actually lovely and overall his attitude was pleasant, but a few issues like we ordered a merlot and were given white wine, then at no point throughout the whole meal were we asked about ordering more drinks (or anything else for that matter) and just small things like there being no salt and pepper on the table were inconveniences that didn't need to be there.
Food: Actually stunningly bad for somewhere usually so good. We ordered off the restaurant week menu which was 2 courses for £10 so really good value, but for the starter I had Mozzarella filled meatballs which were poor. I swear that the sauce they were in is the exact same as the ready-made one I buy from Morrisons with that vinegary taste (I actually love it but don't exactly want to go out and eat it). I couldn't describe it as anywhere better than some microwave meals.
The Chicken Kiev for main was terrible. 2 of us on the table had it and we couldn't actually smell or taste any garlic in or outside of the chicken anywhere. It was overcooked too, so essentially a dry breaded chicken breast with no sauce, garlic, butter, or anything and some french fries on the side. If I made it in the oven at home I'd have been disappointed.
To The Hudson: Please let this be a one off as you're usually so good and despite this meal I'll still come back in future and give it another chance.
Had a lovely meal for restaurant week. Excellent value for money. The cocktail offer of 2 for 1 initially looked a good deal however after the first 2 drinks it was quite obvious that there was distinctly less alcohol used in the drinks that followed
The only faults were the service to get drinks order was slow and it was a bit cold in the booths
Food waS was amazing x best fish and chips I’ve eaten. Also starters were amazing a d all for the bargain price of £13 per person . Friendly straff lovely setting
felt uncomfortable from the second we walked in, it appeared the staff were talking about us, were not very friendly, not enough menus for one each, sat on an uncomfortable table even though there were booths available for the duration of our meal (and we had pre booked), one starter was cold, asked for it off the bill to be told ‘you pay for what you get’, burger sent back as it was pink which was not advised, whole plate was taken away so left with no food to eat while waiting 15 mins and everyone else had finished. When plates cleared we were not asked if we enjoyed. All very standard restaurant practices. Starter was taken off the bill and burger discounted 50% but nevertheless not an enjoyable meal. Wouldn’t mind but they are trying to brand themselves as an upscale restaurant but food and service does not fit.
Family Boxing Day lunch, great food and great service
Definitely better in the evening than for breakfast/brunch. Restaurant area was empty but service slow/clumsy. Took 15 minutes for our drinks to arrive (2 coffees) despite only two other tables being sat in the restaurant and no body at the bar. Bagel and chicken flat bread incredibly chewy and dry as we had watched it being sat on the hot plates for around 10 mins before it was brought out to us. Slightly disappointed as had had an excellent evening experience last year- don’t know whether it is overall slipping standards or whether it just isn’t the place for breakfast. Shame as had good expectations but won’t be returning in the AM.
It’s the third time I have been to this restaurant and had a great time. The food was excellent and the atmosphere was just right. Have recommended it to lots of people.
Lovely food and atmosphere, will definitely be back
Menu not as promised..
Food was very average. The dish I had was not good. The ingredients on the plate did not work together. Service, although attentive was distinctly average, got the feel no one was happy in their work. Portions sizes were on the small side. Beautiful restaurant and bar area is nice which is a shame as food, menu and waiting staff let it down.
The food quality was not great. The service seemed confused, starter were in the menu as you share’ but arrived as individual portions with no additional plates etc. The main was disappointing (steak and Thai broth) and not worth the price tag. Range of drinks was poor. The venue was through their bar area, so noise was high and an unpleasant smell. Then to top it off the waiting staff seemed to have no idea what was going on.
Not worth the considerable price tag!
Lovely meal before going to watch Jack Whitehall. Brilliant service.
Excellent family celebration for party of seven on a quiet Monday evening.
Food and service were first rate - thoroughly enjoyable visit - highly recommended.
Lovely food and a nice welcome, however we struggled to get anyone’s attention with being right at the back
We ordered from the 3 course meal menu. Fantastic choice of food and a great value. Staff were very professional. Cocktails were beautiful.
Perfect evening .1 minor complaint it was to cold and had to keep coats on...Staff were amazing and did move us tables but unfortunately still cold
Normally I would recommend the Hudson but on Saturday it was way overbooked we were put in a very tight corner couldn’t get in or out 45min wait for a starter and then another hour wait for a main meal. We couldn’t order dessert else we would have been late for our concert It was very noisy as everyone was complaining about the service I actually felt sorry for the staff
The food was good but the time it took to come was terrible almost an hour wait before we got the first course, I think they need to know how many tables they can cope with.
Very disappointed, having being here several times before for drinks, decided to book a lovely meal before going to see Michael Buble, our table was not great but was pleased to have one as we knew the place would be busy due to the concert and Christmas shoppers. The food was awful and the waitress walked past our table several times leaving the plates on the table. Every table was full but people were walking out due to waiting over 45 minutes for drinks and told food would be over an hour. Our food was cold and bland and when the bill arrived we asked for a reduction in the bill, we were told our food had already been discounted as we had chosen from the 2 course set menu, all in all very very disappointed and will not be going back.
We booked our table through the open table app and it was accepted immediately. Got there a couple of minute early, was told they just needed to get the table ready. No problem, was seated about 15mins later at 5:15pm, as they were setting the table a glass was broken by a staff member. Again no problem, they took our order and came back after 5:30 to say that there’s a delay in the kitchen and the food will take about 45mins, we explained we were leaving to leave about 6:30pm and as we were already been there 30mins we asked if it could be done any quicker as we also had only ordered mains. The manager came over and told us that they were overbooked and that they couldn’t do anything to help and just continued to say that they’re overbooked due to their online system. We left about 5:45pm meaning it wasn’t possible to go elsewhere, especially without a reservation. Food looked lovely but shouldn’t advertise on a reservation app if they are unable to fulfil the orders. Very disappointed.
I had read about the Hudson in Luxe Magazine. I think that my expectations were largely met. The A La Carte Restaurant was very quiet. The staff were attentive and efficient.
The food was very good with some imaginative selections to choose from the menu.
Spent my birthday meal at the Hudson with my friends and we absolutely loved it! All the staff were nice and the service was fab. 100% recommend and will definitely be coming back!
Lovely food and service by a new member of staff. I will be back for more of the vegan menu!
Amazing food/service couldn’t fault any of it. Would definitely come back
The Hudson is an excellent choice for in town dining
Service from Freddy was attentive without being overbearing and accommodated our needs (pre theatre dining) easily.
Had a lovely family meal at The Hudson for my birthday on Saturday night. I often come to The Hudson for a drink but ive never eaten here. Food was lovely. Service was quite quick. Cocktails were lovely too. We all enjoyed.
Visit the Hudson today following a recommendation from a friend, booked last minute but no problem getting a table and now i know why.
Arrived and taken to table, ordered drinks and they arrived fast but expected as the place was empty. My wife ordered a coke and the glass exploded covering everyone, including our coats. Staff scurried off like rats on a sinking ship with no apology for what had happened. Now i accept accidents happen, but no apology and to add further insult our waitress was laughing in our faces.
I asked to speak to the manager and a total waste of space arrive, named Holly. Firstly Holly went over into a huddled with staff before even acknowledging us. Holly then became very aggressive and rude from the start and refused to accept any responsibility and again did not offer any apologies. Even questioned the point that some of the staff were smirking, which added fuel to the fire considering she was nowhere to be seen before asking for the manager. Asked if we wanted a new table and a couple of drinks, which was again strange considering the table and seats were covered in coke (felt like saying no we wanted to sit on wet seats and at a drenched table). Final Holly had the courage to muster up an apology, however by this time but decided to leaving due to the arrogant nature of the so called manager.
I also asked for the name of Holly's boss and owner of the restaurant but Holly refused to give this. I only hope IMRAM KHALIQ and NIGEL FLEMING of the GAINFORD GROUP see this review.
Absolute shocking customer service and no wonder restaurant was empty.
Just to be clear we did not eat in the restaurant therefore I considered it fair to give an average 3 stars.
IT WAS OUR FIRST VISIT TO THE HUDSON AND WE WERE VERY IMPRESSED WITH BOTH THE SERVICE AND THE FOOD WE WILL CERTAINLY BOOK AGAIN
Plenty to choose from on the menu. Good food, friendly attentive staff, nothing too much trouble. Lovely dining area.
We were celebrating a 50th birthday and looked for a nice venue to have a meal at in the city centre. All was fine on arrival we were shown to our table in a timely manner. We were the only paying guests in at the time and took a little longer to decide on our choice of food. We mixed up between the brunch menu & the main one which wasnt a problem, however as we all ordered effectively a starter and a main naturally that's how we thought they would come out but no all came out at once! So food was starting to go cold as we moved from dish to dish. With a bit of fore thought the waitress should have really asked. The food was very well presented and tasted great so would recommend anyone to eat there.
Unbelievable beef. Complimented the chef. Complimentary prosecco on arrival too. Nice touch. Customer for life 👌🏻 👍🏼
Couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Went for my boyfriends birthday and felt like royalty. Would 100% recommend and would come back again soon. Food was impeccable, service was fabulous and the environment classy. Thank you!
Tried dishes off the special vegan menu for a change and I really enjoyed them. It is a lovely setting with great cocktails and a very reasonable price
Excellent experience - late night supper taken as late checking into the hotel - the chefs obviously take a lot of pride in their cooking and preparation and it shows in the quality of food - slow cooked beef massaman was homely and moorish - the wild mushroom lasagne absolutely delicious. Would highly recommend.
Would recommend for a delicious Sunday Lunch. Lovely restaurant, good food. Great location for the Central Station.
I was always a huge fan of The Hudson but wow this was horrific experience so much so we won’t be going back!
We booked for 19:30 and our order was taken at 19:40 to this point the waitress was rude and unfriendly, out of a menu with at 15 main course options (bearing in mind this is restaurant is in a hotel) there was only 2 options left, the restaurant was not full lots of empty tables! My husband asked for a bottle of Malbec (red wine)we where told they didn’t stock it he then pointed it out of the wine list to which she said oh yeah that’s out of stock.
I asked for my burger without cheese it came with cheese which made my husbands meal dried out as it had to be kept warm whilst they re cooked a cheese less burger. The waitress then spilled drinks all over the table and left the table wet I cleaned it up myself. Then another waiter spilled drinks all over again as he collected the plates my trousers where wet. She then tried to charge us for something We had cancelled and not wanted.
The general staff were all rude and didn’t want to be at work they made it very clear! The only one member of staff I can praise was the restaurant manager he was helpful and tried to sort out our bill and apologise l. I did send a DM asking someone to contact me about the shocking service and I’m still waiting so I guess no one is going to address the problem!
In all honesty for the price point and lack of service you would of been better staying at home with a take away!
We really enjoyed our food and drinks service was spot on and we went for the special three course which was great value. Only thing that could be improved were more veggie option.
