   We had drinks and nibbles, the drinks were perfect and the location was lovely. Service was slow and the halloumi fries weren’t great, but the croquettes were lovely but there were too few.

   Great experience, service very good, food was excellent value for money. Choice of food very very good. Staff were very good. Its was great having a conversation without having to shout so my mare could hear me. Will definitely be back .

   Enjoyed an early meal here before a concert. The atmosphere was calm & relaxed compared to the hustle & bustle outside. We were greeted warmly on arrival and all serving staff were exceptionally friendly & accomodating.

   We had an unfortunate experience where there service was really poor. Slow to take order and food taking a long time to arrive - and then coming at different times for different people in our party. Not great.

    The music choice was a let down, staff were lovely but the music could have been much better to improve the experience and atmosphere within the place

    Really good food, great service and a good night. Music was loud enough at 7pm to need to shout at each other. Not bad for all, just wanted to let people know. James Bond was playing on the TV.

    Food was overall good although we did ask for 2 of the steaks to be well done but arrived pink and bloody

    They were understaffed. The front of the house manager had to take our order because our waiter-in-training would disappear for lengthy periods of time. we waited forever for our food. No one would come over to the table unless we waved them down. the manager apologized and comped us a round of drinks - which was nice - but they still put an appetizer on the bill that we never actually got. Seemed like a staffing issue, but still… wife said Haddock was good, i thought the angus steak had too much gristle.

    Really polite, quick service. The view across princes Street and the castle was great for people watching and the inside of the bar was well presented. Food was tasty and could tell it was fresh made to order. Only critique would be that the mains didn't come with fries/sides (the pie came on its own with a small salad.) But it was reasonably priced for a city center dinner! Would go again

    We were the only people there for brunch early. My poached eggs came out underdone its runny liquid whites. I NEVER return food, but that is dangerous. 1 hour later, my companion had finished his meal, people came in, ordered, received their food. I believe kitchen acted passive aggressively and never prepared my food. Waitress wa great, apologetic,removed our cappuccinos from the bill. I left starving and searching for another cafe. Total waste of a morning. My companion said his breakfast wasn't even very good.

    Food was good after having a disappointing meal last time service was fair I think more due to inexperience my water was warm so I asked for cold water she returned with fresh tap water which was already poured on the bar with about 12 other bottles! Obviously this was the reason it was warm the first time! so not fresh water! It might seem a small thing but on a warm day it makes a difference

    We had dinner at The Huxley before catching the overnight train home and chose it because of its proximity to our hotel. The menu is very narrow but the food was good, service was friendly and attentive and our table (in the window with armchairs) was lovely. People did not seem to be lingering long over their food and a high proportion of tables just seemed to be having drinks. If you want to make an evening of it, I would choose elsewhere but for a quick dinner it was great.
