Very friendly service and a nice meal. Would recommend for couples or families.
Great surroundings and attentive staff
Lovely meal after visiting the Edinburgh Gin Distillery tour which is right next door. Was a little quiet but that didn't detract from the lovely food and drink. Me and the wife can definitely recommend the highlander burger and the Philly steak and cheese sandwich. Lovely place, great service and perfect location for a walk up Princes Street after eating.
Fantastic food really well run and service was spot on had a lovely meal and will certainly be returning
Lovely, friendly service. Only had drinks so can’t comment on food.
Great breakfast - good food, superb service and good ambience. Recommended!
Lovely evening, service was fantastic from all staff. Will definitely be back
Chilled late lunch with pal, attentive service and good food, thank you 😊
Lovely lunch thanks so much! The service was perfect and staff was friendly as always! Recommend drink Burgh Club fizz 😁
Great service, great food and sun shining sitting outside!
Brilliant for drinks! Atmosphere is great and drinks are served quickly, would go back.
Nice place with great service but let down by the standard of food.
Was very organized and safe with temperature check on entry and good social distancing
Excellent food and service
Will definitely go back again
Food was delicious however there seems to be no relation to the times on the menu to when you can actually order. We were told we couldn't order from non brunch menu until 2pm however table next to us ordered well before that from the non brunch menu.
Excellent pleasant evening with great service thank you
Seated outside on a wonderful day. Food was fantastic and company was superb.
Beautiful gastropub with great food and a fun vibe!
Went for breakfast and left extremely disappointed. Place was empty, service slow. Potato scone not cooked properly waited 15 minutes for “replacement” didn’t get an apology or anything then the “replacement” potato scone was the same. How can you f@!k up cooking a tattie scone?? Then asked for orange juice and a latte and walked out before it came as that was taking ages also. Very poorly managed.
Great attentive service from all staff. Covid protocols good. Would highly recommend this establishment in a great location.
Have been to The Huxley a few times over last couple of years - usually my place of choice when visiting Edinburgh - sadly we left disappointed yesterday. Service was very slow and my son felt very h comfortable having to try and catch someone’s attention to order drinks initially and then waiting in someone to clear our main meal dishes - took so long we ran out of time for dessert. Restaurant was t too busy and seemed to be adequate staff on but not as attentive as have been in the past - food was nice - drinks were reasonably priced - had to ask what the 10% Huxley service charge was for on our bill - bit cheeky I thought considering service was poor. Sadly I’ll probably look for somewhere else to east next time I’m through in Edinburgh.
Great central location with friendly informed service.
The Huxley is always a great place to eat although there are different choices for vegetarians these days
The atmosphere is pleasant
The staff are friendly and helpful
I recommend it
Friendly and attentive staff with a very chatty server who gave us excellent recommendations around the city for our day trip when we were done with our brunch. Food was delicious, and the drinks were to die for (Especially the orange juice, definitely give it a try!)
Great venue, fantastic staff and service. Only feedback is that outdoor heaters had run out of gas, so it was chilly outside.
We had a fantastic time at The Huxley. From our table we could see the castle and it made our trip to Edinburgh special. The cocktails were also the best I’ve had for a long time.
I had a lovely lunch before heading of to the rugby. A bit of confusion for actually getting into the pub but the staff who were busy took the time to direct mysekf and others the correct way.
The french toast was amazing x
had a great time excellent service table ready on time
Staff very friendly whilst still retaining their professionalism
I visited last night for drinks and to watch the football. Everything was brilliant; the number of screens to watch, the lovely drinks & in particular the amazing service. The staff were all so friendly and helpful - always checking if we needed more drinks. Really recommend!!
Overall the experience was good. Given that we were seated at 21:15 and the place closed at 22:30, we were a little disappointed that we had to wait nearly 20 minutes to get our first drink and we definitely felt rushed at closing time. The food and the cocktails were great though. I'm sure these niggles will be sorted when things get back to normal.
We went back for Brunch the next day and it was excellent
Nice food , nice place , the male waiter was lovely but the female was a bit rude and abrupt , would go again though
We went for Sunday breakfast. Quality of food was disappointing. The smashed avocado was puréed smooth and tasteless. The bread was basic sliced loaf nothing special like a rustic sourdough or seeded. Fell far short of expectations and other local restaurants. The service was good and the interior was nice.
Fab afternoon - guy who served us was amazing and was very professional.
Felt very relaxed and safe under covid rules. Definitely visit again.
A bottle of wine and some lunch outside was lovely especially as the sun came out after a couple of very windy days. Good place to people watch while enjoying a drink or 2.
Thanks for the lovely review GavinC.
Lovely welcome and great service. everything in place to make us feel very safe.
Staff were so friendly and attentive, service was quick. Food was delicious and drinks were fab. Couldn’t fault the place. Good to see covid measures were fully in place to keep everyone safe.
Thanks so much for the lovely review :) Simon
Had booked a table 3 days prior to dining .When we arrived was given a table at an open door and after waiting over 20 minutes for someone to serve us. we left .Very poor service
The service was extremely slow, took twenty five minutes after being seated to be asked what we’d like to drink.
Great staff and drinks. Comfy chairs and clean toilets. Great views by windows too
Thanks for the 5 star review!
