   Went for afternoon tea for my mother’s birthday and we had to wait for over 40mins by that time our drinks had gotten cold we weren’t offered a refill and when my mum asked for milk the waiter two mins later sat down and was having a lovely chat instead. Needless to say after waiting for 40mins we left wouldn’t recommend

   Ambience was average, Cocktails were great and Food was good quality but did not look as sleek as advertised. They did not bring any crackers or toasted bread with the rabbit terrine and when asked we got 4 slices of unimpressive cold bread. The scallops were good and tasty but only two and not presented as in the photos. The main courses were tasty but presentation was below what is advertised. Service is kind but they need to improve organisation. I think that day they were short of personnel: the two people kept disappearing at the back. In the end we found it expensive for the experience we had.

   It's a lovely setting and the food was great, and to that extend I would recommend it. I went on a Thursday night when it wasn't busy, but they appeared to be under-staffed. Several times I had to go looking for someone and they were nowhere to be find. The drinks were a particular disaster. Whilst they had a great selection of wines by the glass, At least four turned out to be unavailable, and in one case it turned out that the waiter had brought a "similar" wine to the one I ordered without telling me. Food-wise, things were much better. We had the salt and pepper squid, the tempura vegetables and the cheese board. They were all excellent. The price was reasonable given the quality of the food and the location. Perhaps they had an off day, but they need to sort out the service and the wine list. Given the experience I had, I don't think I could recommend it.

   Table of five booked. Unfortunately the the service was really poor - In the garden they had under 10 guests all of whom got wrong dishes, we waited 45 minutes for a bottle of wine to be brought to the table. Only two starters arrived and then after 3 hours the waiter admitted that they didn’t know who to cook the new menu. So no food was actually delivered. For damage limitation our drinks were given for free, but still a disappointing evening. In a year where hospitality has really suffered its ashame they weren’t fused about the service. Staff very polite and embarrassed by the situation so not their fault . But would warn anyone to visit until the basic issues were corrected. The old fashioned from the bar was nice , and the wine was good when it finally arrived , presumably flown directly from Spain .

   They were setting up for breakfast while we were still eating and they didn’t even have any white wine. Confusing menu that offered lots of vegan options that weren’t even available in the restaurant. No notice that you have to order the tasting menu in advance.

    Called just before arrival to find out due to a glitch our reservation had been cancelled , but noone had been in touch despite open table still saying i had a reservation. Offered nothing to make up for it or help accommodate us, and it was just sheer luck i had called ahead otherwise we’d have been turned away. Assume this attitude carries across to the rest of their service, best avoid making plans here, (unless to have a weekend ruined)

    I’m rating this at 2 because even if the food was indeed delicious, the experience was not good. Upon arrival, we were told that only the All Day Dining menu was available. This was not at all communicated upon booking. Mind you, this all day dining menu only had burgers and 2 unappealing pasta dishes. This should have been made obvious up front during booking The man seated next to us felt the same — and even said the same. When he complained, magically the other menu became available and suddenly we were able to order things we weren’t able to order. The impression it gave me was that they were just lazy to prepare or cook the complicated dishes and only upon complaint was it made available. The food was indeed good but I don’t think I’m coming back because the experience wasn’t good with the price commanded. The look and feel of it was also a bit sub par — unlike the Instagram or google photos, the backyard wasn’t decorated, there were no table cloths, etc I understand times are hard due to covid, but if you choose to operate with a degraded experience, it hurts the restaurant even more.

    This was a stunning and unexpected experience. We thought we’d booked a different restaurant with a similar name so were initially disappointed on arrival. There was no need for any shred of disappointment. The warm welcome was memorable. But the experience just got better and better. The ambience is remarkably relaxing. The service is beyond compare as it was excellent. The knowledge of wines displayed by everyone was truly astounding. The range of whiskies on offer was equally astounding. The cuisine was both excellent and reasonably priced. There is no doubt that we will tell our friends about Hyde and that we will return not only for lunch/dinner but also for an overnight stay as Hyde is an hotel too with exquisite rooms. You must visit this hidden gem!

    We stayed at this hotel and and highly recommend it. The staff were all very friendly and helpful especially Ben. We had several meals and all were delicious. We enjoyed it so much that we came back just for a dinner one night and did not disappoint us. Highly recommend.

    I had my family's collective birthday party at this lovely hotel restaurant. Both Yazdan and Carlo were such a delight, very kind, patient and accommodating to all my family. This just made the celebration all the more special and I would like to send a huge thank you and more from myself and the rest of my family for such a special evening. Plus the food was fantastic! I would really like to come back again as is was such a beautiful restaurant.

    What a wonderful surprise. I was looking for something quick for a business lunch before catching the train at Paddington and randomly chose Hyde Restaurant. Then I discovered this quaint, elegantly-styled hidden little place that was not only comfortable and quiet but also has a great bar and cocktail menu with fantastic food. The scallop ceviche melted in the mouth and the steak tartare was to die for. Everything perfect, beautifully plated. Service was top class, efficient and effluent without being too obtrustive. I was just sorry that I didn't have more time for dessert or to enjoy it more. Next time I will, for sure!
