The food here is lovely especially the vegetarian options. Not many restaurants offer soya but this is one of the few places that does. Will definitely be going back.
A different experience , service not great as we waited to order drinks but overall very good food in a modern lively tavern .
The food was delicious, having the option of tapas was great to try new dishes. The staff were polite and friendly but we didn’t get much guidance from them on the menu and were encouraged to order through the app. If you don’t know Indian food the menu offers little explanation on what the different dishes are or how many tapas plates are recommended per person. The waiters bring out the food but don’t regularly check if you need more drinks etc so it kind of feels like virtual service only. The atmosphere was energetic but for me traditional Indian music in the background would have been nicer than loud 80s pop as it made conversation quite difficult and didn’t fit the theme of the restaurant. Overall an amazing meal and would definitely go again.
Date with my God children
The food is lovely, servers really polite and the app makes ordering really easy. I have been here twice now with friends and will definitely be coming again in future
Enjoyed our meal, did go by times on website thinking it was open till 11pm , but was asked to drink up at 9.50pm by a staff member couldn’t understand why the person behind the bar didn’t mention this as we had not long got another drink. I would return though because the food is lovely.
Waited over an hour for food. The two gents working we’re more interested in their phones and going for cigarettes than working. Sat between two tables of dirty dishes for over half an hour, but in that time both members of staff had two cigarettes each. We were informed that the bar was closing at 8:15, I assume this has something to do with licensing, I was unable to order any additional soft drinks through the online ordering but witnessed the bar staff serving multiple different tables drinks from the bar. A gent went to the bar at 9pm and ordered 4 pints and was served - seems a little unfair. A table had ordered 3 portions of poppadoms of which were sat for more than 20 minutes on the pass because again the two front of house staff were taking it in turns to smoke. The food we received was once again amazing, I had read the tripadvisor reviews for this establishment and was confused as I had eaten here in October and found it amazing - my last visit makes me understand the tripadvisor comments.
Pull it together! The food is great, the service? What service! I ordered online, I got my own cutlery, I waited an hour, I couldn’t order any more drinks and I sat amongst dirty dishes.
Good food, drinks slow to arrive, disappointed when had to pay the bill before being served with food and drinks.
I love the energetic and busy feel of this place, with the decor and everything it was amazing. I definitely would return to try more dishes. The curries we had were absolutely gorgeous. Me and my boyfriend adored the keema topped chips, we thought they were the highlight of our meal. Service was well-timed and friendly. I had a tiki cocktail and it was honestly amazing and so worth the money.
Great service great atmosphere and the food was amazing! We always bring our family and friends here whenever they come to visit & it certainly didn’t disappoint! Best indian we’ve had!
Service couldn’t fault it
Only problem as there was only two of us we were put on the world’s smallest table had to ask to move as food didn’t fit on the table told we couldn’t but was offered the worlds second smallest table to put our food on so you couldn’t have it all in front of you. In fact there was only room for two plates on the table the drinks had to go to the side table as well….
Super fast service and easy to order
Amazing meal, beautifully designed polite and informative staff. The only issue for me was being open plan and music was too loud.
I spoke to a staff member about someone had booked a table using my email address and was concerned it may be fraud. I called at the time the table was booked and asked for you to check email address with people who had booked table , I was promised a call back but did not receive one so I am still worried about fraud.
Food was good, with great fast service, only thing I didn’t like was how loud the music was, had to shout to talk across the table. Other than that it was fine 👍
Had several meals here never been disappointed. Good choice of menu anddrinks
Excellent food, good service, easy booking system online.
We had a good night at the tavern, very good food, good selection of drinks, we were a table of 8 and we all had a good time, would definitely go again
Food was good and did not have to wait long for it Price was good First round of beers was sent back as they had a funny taste so they was changed to bottles with no problem Nice place would not say it was particularly comfortable due to tables and chairs being hard and a large room which i thought was a little noisy
Everything was okay.. that’s it, just okay. one of our curries, chicken tikka masala, tasted like hienz tomato soup. Music in the restaurant was very loud felt like we were shouting across the table to talk. Had a small black hair in our naan bread. Wouldn’t of wanted to paid for what we got, wasn’t particularly hot either.
You order through the app which is handy especially during Covid and staff were polite but we had no real service no one came to check on the meal or ask how it was and we when our plates were taken it was a bit awkward as there was no service or staff engagement so we just left afterwords we felt like we were waiting around and didn’t want to leave abruptly or come across rude. We were only there for an hour it felt awkward but still friendly.
Drinks came after food.(approx 35 mins after we sat down.)
Plates and cutlery not brought to us, staff had to be reminded.
Not offered anything after plates were cleared. Felt a bit abandoned.
The saving grace is that the food is divine!!
Food was nice. The only thing that separates this from the other Desi pubs is the portion sizes. The mixed grill is tiny compared to others I have had. Wouldn't recommend the mixed grill for this reason. The curries were bang on though.
Call me old school but I would love actual service, the app seems to make every worker ignorant, no greeting, no menu's were given, no explanation of how things work, no cutlery until we asked, no plates until we asked, the wine bottle wasn't even open and when we asked she looked at us like she didn't understand, no one cleaned tables when new food came so there was no room. If staff are only there to bring food out then it's fine, but other than that the customer service is shocking. Just because you have a ordering app doesn't mean you can't offer good customer service too, it would also be nice to have a choice, anyone older than 30 would struggle here, there's just no direction , iv been to more welcoming street food venues. But apart from this the food was absolutely stunning and price wasn't too bad. The venue was nice and quirky ( kids got some lovely pics) the benches were a bit much for us oldies getting in and out we brought nan along too and she really struggled. Again it's obviously just aimed at people under 30 I think.
Lovely food & really quick service! Would definitely recommend :)
Can not fault the food .Quality is fantastic. I like the ordering on app at your table. Only fault was we had to share long table with other party of people we did not know .
This is the second time at the Indian tavern for me third time for my wife, there was a group of 4 of us, we all enjoyed it very much and would go again, thank you and keap up the great work
If you order by app don’t order starters and mains as they come at the same time.
Starters are worth the money very nice
Food and service is excellent but needs to let people know how to order food and drinks
Great food at a reasonable price, friendly staff & a good atmosphere
Food was nice but didn’t like the way all the food was served together. Would of been nice to have your starters and then your main course instead it was all served together, so parts were cold by the time you came to eat them.
Food really good and good value but server was a little condescending and unhelpful when we had trouble loading the app to order our food. A little more customer service would go a long way.
It was a Thursday evening and not particularly busy. A different menu to a lot of Indian restaurants but offered some sizzling dishes which looked lovely
We all enjoyed our food, and the girls loved the waffle desserts
A modern and good restaurant
Amazing food and great service
Definitely return and highly recommend
Poppadoms stale. Food rushed out, not allowed to have starter as a starter.
Staff seamed on edge all the time.
Would I recommend to a friend , NO.
Would I go again NO
Fab night for 2 birthdays. Food and service excellent. Portions generous and reasonable prices will go again
Didn't really rate the food at all, found it quite disappointing. It also really upset my stomach. I have a very good tolerance for food but as I was leaving had to go back and hot foot it to the facilities. There were also a couple of guest who appeared to be drunk and a bit disorderly which didn't really help of the vibe of the place.
Food was fine for the price but not the best Indian I’ve ever eaten. On a Sunday evening there were only the 4 of us in there so obviously no ambience to speak of but food arrived super quick which was a bonus.
Waiting staff efficient enough but didn’t have the spark/energy that makes you want to say much about them.
Wouldn’t be my first choice of restaurant but if someone else wanted to eat there I wouldn’t put them off.
Tables are ridiculoudly small, no room for plates and drinks. Curry was very poor with no flavour or taste, tasted like a Tesco microwave meal. Two different Currys tasted the same. Rice was mushy. Service was very slow. Overall very disappointing
Lovely place, really liked the decor. Food was lovely and well priced. We were on the long tables in the corner and felt cramped as table next to us was fairly close and kept getting knocked. They were a rowdy bunch of people so was quite distracting.
Staff were very pleasant and helpful.
