The Inn at Pound Ridge by Jean-Georges
Everyone loved the food except my broccoli rabe was awful: stringy and inedible and wouldn’t even cut with a knife. Yuck.
Though it was tasty, the pizza crust was a wet mush and I needed to eat it with a knife & fork. The service was excellent and the 3 people I was with loved their meals. Of all the times I’ve been here, this is the 1st time I wasn’t 100% pleased.
Service was warm and friendly, as always. Food was delicious. Crispy sushi and pea guacamole also fantastic, as was the pizza and desert. The perfect place to celebrate anything!
food was great as always service tonight was terrible
The food at the Inn at Pound Ridge is exceptional and although expensive, a good value for the quality of the meal
The table service was also exceptional. The wait person was well trained, courteous, and knowledgable. The restaurant is attractive, classy and a pleasant setting for a meal
The only problem we had with the Inn at Pound Ridge was the arrogant attitude of the hostess reflecting the lack of customer service at the restaurant.
We had booked the table for four a month in advance and requested downstairs seating for an important personal reason. We then called a week in advance and left a message reiterating our request for a table downstairs. The afternoon of our reservation we called again to confirm the reservation and again requested a downstairs table
When we arrived at the restaurant on a Wednesday night in August we were told that they were unable to honor our request for a downstairs table. Finally after an unpleasant conversation reminding them that we had made the reservation a month I advance we were seated downstairs. The rest of the meal was pleasant and delicious. The downstairs portion of the restaurant was not full the entire time we were there.
If this had been my only bad experience with the Inn at Pound Ridge I wouldn’t write this review. I had a previous very unpleasant experience when I had to return a $40 pie that I had ordered for Thanksgiving.dinner. The pie was so burnt that it was inedible and left us without dessert. When I returned the pie the next day there was no offer of a refund nor an apology. I had to write a letter to finally get a refund of $40.
It’s a shame that such an excellent restaurant needs to prove exclusivity with arrogance regarding customer service. This certainly affects the quality of the entire meal experience in a negative way.
As always a wonderful time.
We have eaten here many times in the past , this time service was poor, the menu never changes , the food was bad ,we sent it back ,they gave us free dessert, unfortunately I think we will not be back ‼️
Disappointing. Been there before and it was very good but this evening the experience was disappointing. Service was poor and food was good but not at this price point.
Food was good but not fantastic. We had requested to be near a window & were seated as far away from windows as we could be. When I asked for our seat to be changed I was told that this was better because we could see the whole dinning room. Yes we could, but it was by the entrance to the kitchen & was not what we had wanted. Floor vibrated every time a server went by. Food was very pricey. We had been given a gift certificate so that was why we came. We will not go back
Food was mediocre but venue and ambiance is great
Great food and beautiful place to eat
Unfortunately we sat next to a father who had to loudly announce to his daughters their 15 minute scheduled vacation weekend. I would have hated to be on that trip....namaste
Delightful at the bar and downstairs. If you'd like to be on the same level as valet parking, request upstairs.
Absolutely awesome......from the service, food, gardens, and ambiance - perfect every time. Love this place. Thank you
Great evening all around. Excellent food, great atmosphere, great service.
Always great !
Terrific. Was happy to be on lower level next to window as sun set.
Always a pleasure. I’m hoping some day the noise level will be addressed but the food is absolutely delicious!!!
Yes, the dinner was delicious and the chef was able to accommodate one member of our party's food choices.
I had my birthday dinner at the Inn and it was fabulous! Our server was attentive and helpful in making our dinner selections. It was hard to make choices since all of the menu items were focused on farm fresh ingredients! We enjoyed the pea guacamole, the tuna tartar, the citrus, ginger sauce was so good, we needed a spoon to keep drizzling it on the tuna! I had the pasta, fettuccini with ricotta, eggplant, spicy golden tomato sauce and my husband had the corn crusted tuna with the corn broth, perfectly executed. Lastly, I ordered the chocolate cake with the toasted marshmallow frosting. Finally I found a place where the chocolate cake tastes like chocolate. It was moist and just delicious. I posted pictures of our meal and received lots of great comments. Yes we will be back and bring our out of town guests to this great restaurant.
Yes- I would recommend but the service can be lacking- especially if you are seated in lounge area- we were virtually ignored. And this 4th time at restaurant where something listed on menu not available- this time no pork chop-
The food was absolutely wonderful. The service was a little slow and spotty. We had a great table with extra room and were able to talk.
This place is consistently great. We were a party of 6, and every bite of every dish was delicious -- from the pizzas to the soup, the burger, several fish entrees, the pork chop, and the desserts. The service was excellent, and we simply love the ambience. Not a negative thing to say.
As always the evening was delightful. A pure treasure of a restaurant in upper Westchester.
the food was phenomenal, the decor was nice, and the service was great. Great place for a special occasion or nice evening out!
We have been to the Inn at Pound Ridge several times and my overall impression is that it is very inconsistent. The restaurant itself is very pretty, warm and inviting. Our service was very slow and this is not the first time I have encountered this- our server was very friendly, but the service was slow.
My husband had an asparagus appetizer and liked it. I had gazpacho and it was completely under-seasoned. I had a fish entree, which overall was fine, but nothing special.
For the price and given the service and overall food, I won't be rushing back there.
Menu was excellent. The gazpacho was incredibly complex and original...and we loved it. Monkfish, while a small portion of fish was exceptional. Service, good, but frenetic
Awesome meal and great service for a surprise birthday celebration.
Very good service and they were even able to give my 6 year old a delicious pizza that was way above most kid menu offerings. She devoured it! Our asparagus salad and burrata were delicious and so was the salmon.
We just moved to the area and we will be back!
Excellent meal in a beautiful space. One of the best in Westchester.
Always a special place with great food and service
Everything was excellent...food, service, setting, etc. CAN NOT WAIT TO GO BACK.
Wonderful dining experience. The food was outstanding!
Lovely setting, warm atmosphere, excellent service and the food is great too! What more can one ask for??? and, they did have our table ready exactly on time. The chicken lightly coated in cheese was fabulous and the desserts were amazing. It was a bit noisy, but where isn't it noisy on Saturday nights?
Celebrating anniversaries. Meal and service were great
Always a great time.
Our dinner was lovely. The service and food was excellent. I would’ve given it a five star review, but the almond sorbet was inedible. Thank you to the waitstaff for paying so much attention to detail and making our experience so lovely.
Lovely service and a beautiful room. We were seated quite far apart from other tables so the conversations didn’t interfere. Special food
My wife and I had been out all day and were on our way driving home (to CT) when we thought maybe we should stop to get something to eat. I remember having been to The Inn a few years back so I was able to make a last minute reservation 30 minutes ahead.
We got to the restaurant and found the place packed with guests, both in the bar and in the dining room.
We were able to order the food and drinks afterba short wait. The food, both the appetizer and the main courses were great. We both ordered different fish dishes, salmon and monk fish.
Absolute worth the visit and every penny. Will definately go back.
It was a birthday celebration. Everything about the evening was wonderful except the service. From the beginning our server was not on his game. It took way to long to take our drink order and then we waited more than 15 minutes for 2 glasses of Prosecco. The entire evening he was no where to be found. I
It was our first poor experience after many visits. We will return but i hope he won’t be our server.
