    Arrived at Ivy Asia Cardiff at 19:15pm on Thursday 19th September for a special occasion (birthday.) Good meet and greet as we arrived. There were 2 of us. Table water arrived promptly. We ordered 2 Ivy Asia lagers/beers that took 40 minutes to arrive. We asked with respect to their whereabouts 3/4 times, to be told they were on their way. We also ordered a bottle of Merlot, only to be told 30 minutes later tgstvthy didn’t have any!!! The 2 bottles of beer/lager arrive after waiting for 45 minutes. In the meantime we ordered food. 7 sharer plates ordered in total. Only 4 arrived!!! Terrible 😞 service, the worst I’ve ever experienced. The bill arrived, minus the service charge but with all 7 courses! Terrible time, terrible service!!! Food was decent!!!!

    Absolutely amazing experience last night for family dinner. Food and service was amazing as always from the Ivy chain. Decor is incredible. Only very small negative was we were in the table next to the DJ booth and the music was just a tiny bit too loud for a large table. Would have been fine for a table of 2, but tricker to chat across a larger table. Maybe t groups should be a bit further away from the booth. Music was great though! Still had the best time.

    Overall, this was a good resent, but not great. I want to say that this restaurant is a good example of corn over content. The interior decor is amazing and OTT (in a good way). Similarly, the food is well presented and has a visual appeal. However, the flavours of food are fairly underwhelming verging on bland (we went for the two course fixed price menu - perhaps that's the problem ?) The prawn mains I had was disappointing - little of it and what was there was mainly sauce with very few bits (not whole) prawns. My husband's tofu mains was a similarly small portion and was over-cooked and not as spicy as suggested by the menu. On the plus side, the reception and waitstaff were friendly and welcoming. Overall, it was an ok experience, but I won't be in any rush to return, unfortunately. I had so wanted to love it!

    My issue is the 'value for money'. Im always happy to pay a premium for good food but I felf extremely disapointed with the meal I had. The Wagu beef sushi rolls for starters was very good. I than chose the 'Massaman Lamb'. The dish was as small as a saucer and the food inside was shallow with only around 5 small pieces of lamb. My wine order took around 10 minutes, which meant that, whilst waiting for my drink, my food went cold quickly. It tasted okay but the portion size was extremly small. Our bill for 2 starters and 2 mains with 2 drinks was £140. It was our anniversary so we wont be going back.

    Me and my partner were there the other night and had the Ivy Asia experience celebrating our anniversary and it was definitely a dinner to remember. Beautiful interior to begin with, lovely aura all around and the food was fantastic from start to finish. Shoutout to Lauryn she really took care of us since my partner has allergies - really made sure she's going to get out of there alive lol. Hands down best service! Thank you =)

    If you like a banging techno beat to accompany your dining experience then Saturday night is for you at the Ivy Asian . Personally I would have preferred a different ambience. The music was loud and intrusive and spoiled the experience for us . The food was tasty and the service good . I’m not sure if the music is like this every night but I would have to find out before booking again .

    1st visit to Asia and really loved it. Beautiful decor and ambience, food excellent. Service super! Was there for friends birthday which they acknowledged with a candle in a desert, v good of them. Will definitely be back!

    Superb food, great venue, for a busy lunchtime I would say more staff would have lessened the waiting time but the staff who were serving were superb. Highly recommended
