Good food. Great service. Special but doesn’t take itself too seriously.
My third visit this week! Friday night pre -Theatre Royal, Bath. Lovely service from Harriet , hang on to her. My steak was over-done, but quickly re-placed . Still not as tasty as it could be, check suppliers? Husband said his dry martini was excellent and he was comparing to America from where he'd just returned.
And 'welcome' much better than earlier in the week. keep going!
Good food, nice menu choices, friendly service and majestic surroundings. What’s not to like? Especially good value is the set lunch/pre-Theatre deal.
The atmosphere was good- felt like a London restaurant but in Bath. Service was okay, felt like they wet me trying too hard- also ordered the wrong bottle of wine
This was our second visit and it lived up to our memories of the first time. Excellent food, the salted caramel sauce with our vanilla ice cream was to die for. Attentative waiters and good ambience with beautiful art deco surrondings. Would strongly recommend but a wee bit pricey.
Just celebrated my 70th Birthday at the Ivy and had a fabulous time.
Lovely food, great service - this was my second visit looking forward to my third!
Another fantastic visit to the brilliant Ivy in Bath. Again, the food was awesome, service fantastic and ambience was perfect. We couldn’t have had a better lunch. Thank you to the brilliant staff for making it so perfect.
Arrange to have lunch for my sons birthday
But unfortunately we did not stay to eat as there was only 2 vegatrain oppitons and 1 of them was a salad!
Not a good choice of restaurant if you are a vegetarian!
Excellent, nice vibe, fun and interesting menu, a real change for Bath, enjoyed it so much we ran through lunch and stayed for dinner!
Delicious food in lovely setting BUT the coffee was not good at all ...no excuse now that you can get a good cup of coffee in most places !
Lovely ambience. The staff were very courteous and efficient with great attention to detail during our visit. As expected, the food was excellent too.
Enjoyed our meal very much and the service was good. Lovely atmosphere
Good menu to choose from and overall we had a lovely meal.
Arrived really early and table was available so two of us caught up over a glass of champagne while we waited for the others. Great time had by all.
Lovely food, a little pricey but to be expected I suppose
Have been twice for lunch this week. Food and service so much improved. I still have issues with the initial greeting in the hall. Still have not been welcomed properly, don't like being greeted with "Hi guys' or being kept waiting while staff decide what table to take me to. This does not happen in London. Otherwise the staff are doing a great job, and it is a lovely place.
Fabulous food, great cocktails, beautiful ambience and fantastic art on the walls, overall package is perfect.
Was a lovely experience and the staff were all lovely, attentive and knowledgeable.
I have been the the Ivy in Bath a few times now and have enjoyed it each time. Top quality experience with great service, delicious food and a great atmosphere. The fist time was with a large group and the last time was just two for a special occasion. I would happily recommend it.
Food and service was excellent. Loved the atmosphere. Would suit the everyday or special occasion. And a lovely change from the generally overpriced small country pubs!
lovely food as always, was very disappointed where the table was ,since we booked so far in advance,
Excellent service. Thoroughly enjoyed the food. The waiters were very attentive.
Food was average...very dry fish fishpasta. The restaurant was noisy and we were very disappointed with whole experience. We had fined at Tge Ivy in London so had high expectations. Will never visit this restaurant again!
Ps the Ivy champagne was awful at £50 a bottle!
Unfortunately our visit was not great. We’d booked the table some months in advance as a reward to us ladies who are all hardworking mums and we were really looking forward to the experience. Firstly we had to ask three times for some table water whilst we waited for the whole group and looking through menu choices. The waiter was very keen to tell us about the “special” which was Mediterranean fillets of seabass with pesto. Which one guest ordered on his recommendation. Our olives arrived and were tipped over the table accidentally and then rearrived with some olives still dented-were they changed? Secondly, the two Salted Caramel Espresso Martinis which we orde we were undrinkable -far too bitter, and had to be remade. More worryingly the Seabass arrived whole and unfilleted, and had not been gutted!! My friend had started to eat the fish, tried to turn it over and the raw inners of the seabass fell out ! It was smelly and inedible. She was really worried and concerned about eating any more. The restaurant offered a replacement and refund but we certainly didn’t expect this kind of poor service at The Ivy. Puddings arrived and again we had to chase the waiters for the rhubarb compote to go with the panacotta. We enjoyed each other’s company at our lunch, but overall we wouldn’t recommend visiting The Ivy in Bath until they manage to organise themselves better and the food improves.
Table wasn’t ready at 9.30 when we arrived and no room at bar. Asked us to go away and come back in 15 mins, bearing in mind we had arrived by cab as it was pouring rain this wasn’t really a very realistic option! So we stood in the cold drafty corridor outside until table ready. Checked in coats and umbrellas, they lost my umbrella at end of night even though it was ticketed ( expensive one) so I got soaked on way home anyway! Table laid in rush with forks laid to the right!! Other than that a reasonably nice evening, good reasonably priced food and good wine list.
Still No phone call or reminburesment for my umbrella, they have my number so just waiting for the call......!
First time we have visited The Ivy in the evening but noise level was so high you can hardly hear your partner across the table, it must be the mirrors and pictures on the walls, there is nothing to absorb the sound. Far too loud.
I would only recommend as somewhere different to go.
The staff who poured my glass of red need re-training in the art of correct wine managment as the amount of sediment in my glass was unacceptable in a restaurant of supposedly high end quality. The mature male waiter was very good and possibly saved the day by crediting my glass of wine, although it shouldn't have happened in the first place, at least not in the IVY.
Been to many an ivy. Bath was great service food not up to scratch , amazing as very same menu as else where
Have been here now three times and it has been consistently good.
As always the food was very good. But we were not asked if we would like our coats to be taken and we had to ask if there were any specials on the menu.
Just little things like this make the Ivy a very special place to go. We will go back to the ivy in Clifton and London we always feel special when we visit the Ivy.
It’s always first class
Beautiful food, beautiful setting, in a beautiful city. Would recommend to couples and groups, but I wouldn’t take the children, there to small.
Lovely decor and ambience and generally good food. Rather disappointed that when offered an extra portion of something for the vegetarian breakfast as i didn't want beans that they said no to a rasher of bacon. The waiters reason was that it wouldn't be a vegetarian breakfast then. Not a lot to ask in my opinion and certainly not for the price.
Lovely decor, quite onubtrusive service with great charm and a friendly smile. Excellent menu, as one would expect at the Ivy. Wine list is a trifle over priced. Have eaten at the Ivy many times since BATH opened and the original in London, always a good Dining experience. The Ivy is a welcome addition got the Bath restaurant scene. A little more sophisticated setting, food and service. I hope to return many times in the months ahead.
Met a friend for an impromptu dinner. Service was very good. House champagne lovely. We both enjoyed all food ordered and agreed the Tempura prawns were particularly good.
Been to the Ivy Bath a few times now and have had no problems at all. Staff looked after us very well. Was a little apprehensive as have heard mixed reviews but we had a ball. My motto is, treat the staff as you would like to be treated. Doing breakfast next. 😁
Slight problem with one food item but staff were exceptional in sorting out the problem.
A very enjoyable lunch.
Great lunch menu and lovely atmosphere. Will definitely come again.
Excellent and friendly service, in a beautifully decorated restaurant. Traditional breakfast food done very well.
Fabulous Environment and Fabulous Food. Visited on a few occasions and always a lovely experience.
