Wonderful food in a fantastic restaurant.staff very helpful, excellent service
Another wonderful evening had with friends over dinner! Love the cocktails swhilst sitting at the beautiful bar. Will definitely be back very soon.
We had a lovely afternoon tea for my daughters birthday, the ambience, service and food were all exemplary, I would thoroughly recommend The Ivy Restaurant in Bath
What a lovely way to spend a Saturday afternoon, with good friends in a stunningly beautiful environment, with the most charming of staff. The food was amazing and nothing was too effort.
I adore The Ivy and we shall definitely be back
Went there for a late lunch with my mum and the decor and atmosphere was spot on and what you'd hope for a place like this. The food came out really quickly afeer we'd ordered and was superb and really reasonably priced for the quality. One of the servers, looked like the 'head host' type lady was a little stern but the waiter wh served us was lovely and polite. Have now told my husband we need to book a date here and would definitely recommend to others.
Fantastic experience throughout. Great staff, fabulous environment, great food at great prices and a very interesting menu
Stunning surroundings, excellent food and good choice of cocktails and wine- what more could you want. A great place for a weekend brunch with friends.
We’ve been to several other Ivy restaurants and the food and ambience is always very good. We enjoyed our visit and many thanks to the restaurant for remembering it was my husbands birthday with a cake with candle - much appreciated. The only reason for 4 stars rather than 5 was that our drinks service was slower than we would have liked with our starter and main both arriving at our table before our drinks which we had to chase up. Also took about 15 minutes to order coffee. Still happy overall to pay the inclusive service charge and not something we felt we needed to mention on the day but perhaps something for the restaurant to consider tweaking for future with its staff.
Always enjoy food at The Ivy Bath. Service always good. This time, we went upstairs to the Terrace bar for the first time, to have coffee after our meal. What an amazing space! Beautiful terrace, lovely function room. Decor gorgeous. Love it.
The service was appalling as we had to wait for over 20 minutes for coffee and the table remained cluttered and not cleared until after we left.
The staff were polite and smart but were far too busy to wait on our table.
The food was only average.
More staff need to be employed.
Very dissatisfied with the whole evening
When the waiter bought out the sweet menu & rice fell off onto the table I was astonished
Food not good enough
The ivy is a beautiful restaurant the staff were amazing , attentive and extremely efficient and friendly. The food was a little disappointing . The fish pie was mediocre and the deep fried mushrooms. The fish cake was delicious though. The presentation was excellent but the food didn’t live up to the beautiful presentation. I would return and eat again just to soak up the atmosphere and to enjoy really great staff service.
First visit, won’t be last, will do an ‘Arnie’! I’ll be back. Very tasty, well presented food. Really good ambience. Thank you.
Excellent food and service in a very nice environment.
The service was prompt however I did not feel we were rushed.
Lovely atmosphere, although we did find it noisy - however there was no problem when we asked to move a different table my husband is deaf and we were better sitting side by side. Big menu, so plenty to choose from. Food was good and nicely presented. Staff helpful and attentive.
We were very impressed with the quality of the food and the service
Great service, great atmosphere and great food! Couldn’t fault anything. Very clean and they did everything they could to make it an experience to remember.
Great set menu, service fab ... food also
Fantastic food, Starter felt a bit rushed, but after that it was perfect! Thanks!
Wonderful meal, the food was very well cooked and presented. The gentleman that served us throughout the evening was very friendly and helpful! He described the 2 Valentines specials so fantastically (Cocktail and Dessert) that we had both! My only gripe was that the poor young man was left to sort almost everyone on our floor by himself. It appeared though it may not be the case, that he was doing all the jobs! In spite of this he did a great job, though service was a little slow between courses and drinks, not his fault! Ambient noise was a little loud so conversation was difficult at times. Otherwise, thank you for a lovely evening!
All very good can’t fault service was very good and friendly will come again for sure
Absolutely fantastic. We came with my parents for Valentine’s Day 😂. Really well looked after. Food and service amazing as always. Served by Blaise Cabral-just excellent. Bar staff went that extra mile.
We’ve been going since it opened. It’s always very good: food (whatever we choose), service, ambience and value for money. Remains a good addition to Bath with a relaxed and ‘special’ feel.
Took my girlfriend for a special Valentines Day meal. From first walking in where the attentive and welcoming staff greet you to being shown to your table, you immediately realise that you are valued here and it is no ordinary restaurant.
The venue itself is immaculate, nothing has been overlooked from the warm soft lighting to the decor.
It really adds to the ambience and the feeling that its a great place.
The food itself is truly amazing, We both ordered steak with triple cooked chips. The sirloin was cooked just right and was so tender it cut effortlessly and melted in the mouth.
Desert was the Cherry Ice cream sundae, the vanilla ice cream was so smooth and creamy, at the bottom was crisp meringue pieces, on the side was a pot of cherry sauce and freshly baked shortbread fingers.
The Ivy Bath is worth a visit, the level of service is exceptional and we will be returning. It sets the standard by which all restaurants in Bath should be judged.
Well up to the usual standard. We enjoy the excellent wine list. The service is responsive without being oleaginous.
The staff were attentive but not in your face, the food was fantastic and such good price for the amount and quality you got, Very impressed. Highly recommend.
Not our first visit.
Always enjoy the experience!
Looking forward to the next time.
The ambiance of the restaurant is excellent and the welcome most courteous and efficient. However the service at the table was very slow, too long between being given a menu and the order arriving. This was particularly so with the dessert course. Waiter seemed rather bored was difficult to understand and did not engage with the customers. The food was good but lack presentation - especially the Haddock Welsh rarebit. Standards have fallen in certain areas since our last visit.
Good atmosphere, good food. However on Valentines Day there should have been some recognition eg flower on table or chocolate to finish
I have been to Ivy in Bath for quite a few times, and the food never let me down. The service is excellent too!.One happy customer!
Fabulous venue, Great staff, Superb food, all in all a wonderful experience, we will go again!
We have eaten in several Ivy Brasserie’s around the country and they maintain their standard at all times.
My disappointment was that we could not get a table at 12:30 through to 2pm as nit available. We sat down at 11:15 surrounded at the back of the restaurant by empty tables and when we left after our brunch there were still tables empty.
We probably left around 12ish and obviously would have preferred lunch but we did leave it late to contact you and I appreciate the planning required for your covers but it is still slightly annoying when tables are empty.
Otherwise a good time had by both of us.
The food and drinks were amazing and the staff very attentive. I am vegan and they did an outstanding job. Will definitely go back!
Fabulous evening celebrating my sons birthday!
The Ivy cocktail was particularly yummy, would of had another but had to drive back to Salisbury,
I really enjoyed the food and the setting is beautiful. There was an error in my booking and you turned out to be understanding and flexible. This was my first dinner at the Ivy and the place now counts as one of my favourite in Bath.
Exceeded my expectations. Bartenders Dylan and Madison were outstanding. I sat at the bar, had a delicious starter salad with pears and Stilton (amazing), and then the scallops starter as my main. Incredible. Had the chocolate bombe for dessert, again, amazing. I don’t normally write reviews like this, but I had a wonderful experience. Highly recommend.
The food was good, though not quite hot enough by the time it was served, I felt I had to get stuck in immediately as it was only just acceptable. This applied to both the starter and the main course. The presentation and the food itself was excellent, just a bit too cool. The service was not so good. WE had three waiters (2 female, 1 male) attend us at various times. They did not stop to listen and do as we asked, for example I wanted a glass of wine, I wanted just to glance at the wine list again to check which one but the waiter left it and went away for ages, which just made me cross. My friend only wanted another bottle of tonic water and this request had to be the subject of two reminders. The drinks were very slow coming. it took along time for our food orders to be taken and then there were delays in it arriving. We did not have confidence in the service as the waiters would wander past us looking blank and did not pay attention. I was treating my friend to lunch but the sexist assumption was made that he would be paying and he was given the bill. I had my card out ready to pay but yet again another delay before payment was taken. We did not have puddings or coffee (which we had planned to do) because of the service being so poor, by then the time we had allocated for lunch had long since come to an end.
If I pay over £8 for a gin and tonic I would expect it to arrive in a nice glass, not the sort of supermarket tumbler we use at home, and to be nicely presented, the pieces of lime in the drinks looked very mean.
I do not usually eat at restaurants that impose a service charge on the bill, and 12.5% is too much ( usually eat well and leave 10%). There were many nice things about The Ivy, including the lovely decor and the good food but the chaotic and inattentive service spoiled what was supposed to be a special lunch. My friend was polite in his thank yous but I suspect we will go elsewhere next time we are out.
Superb food and great service. Highly recommended for a special meal out.
An early evening suppe,r a delightful experience to treat my 18 year old grandson’s for his birthday . Delicious food unobtrusive service. Lovely atmosphere and very good value.
Pleasant staff, efficient & cheerful waitress. Acceptable choice of wine by the glass. Salt & Pepper Squid & Tempura Prawns - tasty but the prawns disappointingly scrawny. Sea Bass Fillets - well cooked, fresh, tasty. Fillet Steak - excellent (my husband is very fussy about his steak). Truffle & Parmesan Chips - delicious. Vegetables - nice & crunchy. Apple Tart Fine with Calvados flambé - delicious. Crème Brulée - good. Overall a very good meal in a pleasant environment. Would happily return.
