The Ivy Bath Brasserie
As with its sister sites, The Ivy Bath Brasserie serves all-encompassing, contemporary British menus for breakfast, weekend brunch, lunch, afternoon tea, and dinner. The restaurant is open seven days a week offering all-day dining to local businesses, residents and visitors alike. There is a roof terrace which is the perfect spot for al fresco dining from the a la carte menu. Please note that the terrace is non bookable so please just pop in.
Hidden away on the first floor is The Baldwin Room; our private dining room. Seating 30 guests on one long table, or 40 on round tables of ten, the room is available for breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as for drinks and canapés receptions for up to 70 guests. The room can be hired on its own or the whole first floor can be taken exclusively.
Absolutely beautiful food, never wanted for anything waiters were very good with being alert and keeping on top of drinks.
Would highly recommend and will definitely be returning!
Had a wonderful dinner for my mum’s birthday, that they made even more special! The quality of food is always exceptional and love the decor of the restaurant too.
Couldn’t of picked a better place to eat, went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and had an enjoyable evening!
Had our temperature taken on arrival. Excellent service throughout and excellent freshly cooked food.
We had a lovely meal for my sons 21st Birthday everything was perfect :)
Service was painfully slow although friendly. Food was mixed - don't bother with the steak or burger, other items were tastier. Expensive for what we got. Unlikely to go back.
I poked a table at 11.30 for breakfast however only brunch menu was available. Bit disappointed and should have been clear at time of booking. Food was tasty but not quite hot enough
Happy as always. Love the place and the staff. Great.
Table booked for 8.30 asked to bring reservation forward due to 10.pm
closing. Unable to help told 1hr 3o mins plenty of time.
Starter excellent Main coarse just warm not hot.
Told not time for desert unless we had creme brûlée which we shared.
Overall disappointing as was a gift for our Wedding Anniversary.
A lovely evening out with my partner, and our first visit to The Ivy! We were greeted warmly, but it was definitely more awkward than usual due to COVID-19; a weird machine with cameras took our temperature on arrival and we needed to wear masks for the few steps to the table.
Still, these are government-backed measures and the restaurant is only doing its bit - doesn't help the atmosphere, though.
Food was excellent throughout, service was efficient and timely, and the final bill was in the range anticipated. It's not a cheap restaurant, and in some ways I could call it slightly over-priced, but I knew how much it would be going in and I wanted to see if the service/food justified the price; it did.
Bottom line: I thoroughly enjoyed it. The menu is varied and superb, and the ambience just right. If I wanted to spend less but in a comparable-ish restaurant, I'd go to Côte in Bath, but this is definitely a step-up and I look forward to our next visit.
This is our second visit to the Ivy in Bath.
Usual top service, their Covid management was organised and easy to follow, still very relaxed, food and drinks perfect.
Shame about the 10pm curfew but a fabulous evening
Good food and service but Birthday celebration not really taken into account ie table in the middle of a busy walking area for staff and customers and table very small.
Family get together
Very nice food, we did however feel a little rushed. We were sat down and straight away asked what we would like to eat, no time was left in between courses and I did have to remind the waitress we had ordered drinks half an hour ago. But other than that, the food was lovely as always, everywhere felt clean and a nice atmosphere.
Our silver wedding Anniversary
Nice and relaxing beautiful food.
Service was excellent.
Service friendly and polite food excellent. A really nice place. Will visit again.
Went for a birthday treat of afternoon tea with my family. After being seated I was told brusquely that I should have Specified this in my booking, despite no mention of this requirement on the booking form or menu. Was then made to wait. Tea was of fair standard but not as good as others I have had. Will not be repeating experience at the Ivy.
Just love it here.. beautiful restaurant with great attentive service , delicious food and drinks
Can’t wait to come back
Waited 20 minutes before the waiter took our order
When ordered the starter came out after my wives, and main came out whilst still eating my starter
Went to the ivy for my birthday and before my daughter returned to university. My daughter had crab linguine which was delicious. I had fish and chips which I expected to be excellent. Unfortunately the fish and chips were over cooked. I only mentioned this to the waiter at the end of my meal and with hindsight should have sent it back. This has left me feeling very disappointed with the ivy as in the past this has been my favourite place to dine in special occasions.
Lovely lunch! Thank you!
The Ivy was ok, and that’s all you can really say. The food isn’t brilliant, I doubt all the meals are made fresh and it’s never overall hot, also luke warm.
The venue is lovely and there is choice, which makes it appealing for a group. However our table of 5 was squeezed onto a tiny table that was far too small so there was barely any room for glasses, sides and plates, hence the staff struggled and needed our assistance; which just shouldn’t be the case.
One waiter spilt a drink of ours, luckily it didn’t go on anyone but due to the size of the table, we had to clean it up ourselves because he couldn’t get to it.
Then when our food came, the waiter poured hot, very hot, sauce all down my friends back. It went everywhere, her hair, her clothes, coat and jacket. It was mortifying for her and also painful. The staff were incredibly apologetic and took her dinner of the meal, but two spills in one meal isn’t exactly a great dining experience.
All in all it’s very average and nothing more than that. I’d say the staff are not brilliantly trained, the food is mediocre and not hot enough, the tables are far too small for a group and they should have space for coats, as we were crammed in with our bags and coats.
First time going for breakfast and will definitely go back.
We had a very pleasant breakfast. The waiter was very helpful, I am dairy intolerant and he went above and beyond to ensure my meal was suitable for me. Highly recommended.
Food was rubbish!!!! Overpriced, over rated! Your local weatherspoons could do better! Buying into a brand name!!! Expected better. Would not recommend.
Very relaxed & Covid safe. Rather noisy, the background music was too loud . Lovely food as always
Good decor, and ambiance.
Menu slightly boring.
Green beans not just al dente, but barely cooked at all.
Zuchini fritti excellent.
Well organised for Covid. Good service. Cheese board wasn’t up to our standard however they were happy to change it
Nice place treat and the food was great. Time from order to table was a little lengthy but worth the wait when it came.
This was a wedding anniversary present and was very special.
Food was great, service was attentive without being over the top, staff helpful, will be returning
Went the Ivy to celebrate my mother’s birthday. Haven’t been there before but will definitely be returning. The food was great, the service was impeccable and an overall really positive experience. Without prompting or prior arrangement, they even bought out a little birthday cake and candle for my mother which was a great touch and showed real class.
Would recommend to all.
We celebrated our 15th Wedding Anniversary here, and despite the newly appointed restrictions on closing times we felt that we still had an excellent experience. The food was out of this world... will definitely book again! Couldn’t fault it
A wonderful restraunt. We love going there. So pleased it opened in Bath.
A fabulous meal in a lovely building with wonderful service.
Can not recommend the Ivy enough. Our experience was magical the service was outstanding and the food amazing. Definitely be returning.
Like a lot of franchised restaurants working on the ivy name, the food was disappointing one steak impossible to eat too tough others not good did mention it at the end not really interested!
We were a group of 4 staying at hotel not far away meet another couple who also eat that night
they said they were disappointed the final comment was that is 6 of us that will not be going to an ivy restaurant again.
Lovely food as always. Very COVID-19 aware restaurant; tables spaced out, temperature check on arrival, track and trace in force and staff in masks. Great menu, lovely food, will return.
I would highly recommend the ivy, to the Moment you step inside and are greeted at the door, and shown to your table you are looked after. The food is wonderful and we can’t wait to visit again.
