I had afternoon tea with my sister to celebrate my 60th birthday and we had a lovely time.

Mid week lunch for 2. The reason for the overal marking is that we both had special mains but they had run out of the stated accompaniments, which they substituted. The home made ice tea was also disappointing I would describe it as a non alcoholic cocktail, bright pink, so sweet could not taste any peach, elderflower or tea.
The food and service were excellent very good team I will definitely go back. Desserts outstanding.

I love to use this restaurant and on this occasion just wanted afternoon tea to catch up with a girlfriend. We were very welcome just to sit and have tea and a catchup without any pressure to leave. The two staff who attended us were extremely accommodating. We booked a table on the roof terrace as neither of us had experienced the facility since it had opened. We weren’t disappointed. Definitely recommend using it whilst the weather is lovely 😊

Excellent service. Plenty of menu choice and food always delicious and well presented. Set lunch menu is excellent value. Staff are polite, friendly and informative. Spacious seating area and decor very well done. Private dining room is beautiful. Alfresco dining area well done with patio heaters and large log burner.

Only criticism ... Was hoping for something a bit different for Father's Day.

We went for Fathers Day which we had hoped to make a special occasion and had booked late lunch for 3pm. We were taken to a table in the middle of the thoroughfare for other tables. We immediately asked if we could move to one of many empty tables at either side of the restaurant. The waiter asked the management and we were then told 'no' as these tables would be used for afternoon tea. This spoilt the whole experience. The empty tables REMAINED empty the entire time we were in the restaurant and we shuffled back and forth at the table as waiters walked passed us servicing those tables that had customers. This is not an inexpensive restaurant and as such you would expect better customer service. Instead we were left feeling that this was just about filling tables and getting people through the door rather than looking after the customers they have. So disappointing! The food is fair enough but at these prices there is better customer service in other Bath restaurants. If you still want to go check at booking where you will be seated!

My husband and I saw your Resturant on-line and thought what a lovely place to have a late breakfast . On arrival the staff were polite and engaging to our needs . The menu was delightful and tasty too. It was like having breakfast with all the 5 star treatment and attention for a dinner evening . We both loved it and will recommend it to friends and family . The best bit, I thought, was that I had at least three cups off tea from my lovely silvery tea pot that was lovey and hot everytime I poured it . Yum yum all round

Faultless as always. We've been here many times and sat in a different spot every time and have enjoyed every table we have been given. Delicious food with a menu that varies, perfectly balanced service too.

We were lucky to eat outside, the service was a little slow but the staff made up for that by being both attentive and charming.

We booked a table for four for lunch.
I advise booking as it gets busy. They offer a lunch special which is very good value. Service and choice of food is very good, food was lovely and it was a good experience.
We were seated at the front area, which in our view is best as it has natural light so if this is what you prefer ask when booking.
Thoroughly recommend

A lovely addition to Baths restaurants and bars, please ensure of on-going maintenance, cleanliness and good service, its only been open a few months and so many places deteriorate after a few years of business. It will be such a shame if it didnt maintain its current luxurious feel to it. Would like to visit again soon.

Lovely evening, food was amazing especially the tempura prawns, the yellowfin tuna and the chocolate bombe. Would highly recommend. Service from our waiter Antonio was amazing, helped us to choose to right dishes for us and very knowledgeable of the menu. Thank you

Wow, what a superb addition to Bath’s restaurants. The Ivy Brasserie is beautifully decorated with the lovely side-by-side seating for couples. Everything is at London levels - the food, the service, the cocktails, the ambiance - except the prices. Highly recommended.

We went to the restaurant for a 30th anniversary meal

There was no acknowledge that this was a special occasion and it felt like they were trying to cram everyone into the front part of the restaurant to save using the rest

The starter was good but came very quickly as did the main course. It felt like a fast food restaurant. My wifes blackened cod was good but my steak was very disappointing. Clearly cooked fast and no resting time so was tough and tasteless. my tomato and basil salad was just tomatoes with eight baby basil leaves very disappointing

When challenged the staff said this was the same in all the restaurants Snd said if I didn’t like the steak I should have complained when given the opportunity I.e the perfunctory “is everything ok “ when you are nearly finished!!!!

After this decided to leave dessert

Very disappointing

Very professional welcome. Antonio was excellent, just the right amount of attentiveness and he showed us around the building which was very interesting. Food was good value for money though perhaps the vegetables could be a little more generous. The sour bread was delicious and a surprisingly generous portion considering the rather small vegetable portion. Couldn't quite work out why the bill was so high - drinks aren't cheap plus service charge is automatically added.

Nice place to go for a meal. The Upper terrace was a nice place to eat in. Full of leafy trees and very Mediterranean in feeling.
The food was good without being spectacular. A very nice Tuna carpaccio a bit overwhelmed by heavy handed dressing. The duck salad was good but without being brilliant. Pairing both with watermelon was interesting.
The burger -very good meat well prepared hand made chips a nice touch.
The fish and chips was good great batter slightly undercooked cod but perfectly edible.
Attentive service without being too intrusive.
All in all a good lunchtime meal.

As usual I was not dissappointed. Brought my Aunt to celebrate her 89th young birthday. It was her first visit and she loved it as much as I did.

Service was very good as usual and the white wine was perfectly chilled.

We will be back

I was impressed with my visit to the restaurant.
My only objection was having a tip automatically added to the bill. I object to being told how much to give in any restaurant. It should be my choice.

Been twice now and both times we had excellent service and food. Always polite and make you feel welcome. Last occasion was a 70th birthday and they surprised us with a small tart with a candle in with a birthday message at the end of our meal. A lovely touch. Looking forward to our next visit

I love the outdoor terrace! I don’t like the back of the restaurant and don’t go if that is the only option. The menu is limited. It’s best for brunch, on this occasion we had a table in the sun and the service could not have been better. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. I felt very fortunate to have the experience.
I love having The Ivy in Bath, it enhances my life.

We had a lovely brunch here. The food was excellent (we did have an issue with something on one of the plates which when we alerted the staff to it the price of one meal was deducted from our bill).

The restaurant was very nicely decorated and the service was good.

We will definitely return.

Rather disappointing. On booking, all the rules we were supposed to follow were rather patronising. The ambiance at the rear is a bit like an up-market cafeteria - very large room full of tables. Nice wall decorations though, and the front, in what used to be the main banking hall, looked much nicer. Starter was really good - vegetables, main (chicken) was ok. Had to argue over the wine when they tried to give us a bottle we hadn't ordered but they pretended we didn't need to know that!
