   As other reviews say, the service is slow and inadequately staffed. Food was ok; starters average (maybe avoid the French Onion soup), mains better. But the principal problem is they need more waiting staff.

   I went for afternoon tea with my mum to celebrate her birthday. I can't fault the staff who were polite or the beautiful decor of the interior of the restaurant. However,it was very noisy and packed which is great for a restaurant/bar but not as venue for afternoon tea. We couldn't hear each other and it definitely was not a relaxing experience for either of us which was a shame as it was a treat for my mum. I have been fortunate to have been to many venues for afternoon tea and this unfortunately was my worst experience. I would recommend that if you enjoy a relaxing, quiet afternoon tea avoid the Ivy.

   Poor experience - so many tables and was put right beside a couple with a baby - very disappointing - disturbed meal.

   I took my 91 year old mum to The Ivy for her birthday.....from the minute we arrived, everyone was so friendly and professional, and everyone knew it was her birthday! Our waiter was a darling, and engaged in conversation with mum and I.....he was just brilliant! Food was impressive, and we just had a great lunch!

   Good food as usual. Was a little surprised as my napkin was dirty when I came to open it there were stains in it. Srr tree aff were very pleasant and kind.

    I saw quite a few comments mentioning poor service, but I just wanted to share that our experience was the complete opposite. We were seated right in front of City Hall on Mother’s Day night, and everything was perfect from start to finish. The service was genuinely impeccable - friendly, attentive, and so thoughtful.
