Absolutley stunning. Lauren was amazing
Fantastic meal at the Ivy, the food was superb and was complimented by the beautiful decor and pleasant ambience. A must visit.
Lots of staff in reception all busy around 2 people, leaving others waiting.
Apart from that it was great.
The waiting staff were excellent. As was the food.
Had lunch in the brassiere, clean lines, beautiful surroundings. The service, linens and cutlery very stylish. Had marinated tuna-starter, steak - main, shared apple tart flambé - dessert. All well made, tasty and nothing left on the plate. All staff welcoming including concierge /door staff.
It was colder inside than outside. The toast was cold which is a shame as the butter didn’t melt. We had really good service from the waitress but not so great from the waiter. We changed our food order to add some additional items, which weren’t added to our meals. My breakfast was missing avocado but didn’t realise until after I’d eaten.
Had a lovely evening celebrating my daughters birthday 🎂 great atmosphere and good choice of food on the menu. Service on the night was very slow and we were offered bread (given plates and knives) to be told no bread left and plates removed. Would definitely recommend a visit but make sure you have the time to wait.
The entrance and introduction was probably the best part about the experience of The Ivy.
Having been to a number of the Ivy restaurants in London, I’m very much aware they pride themselves on 5* star service... unfortunately this restaurant doesn’t follow suit.
From taking our first drinks order, getting that wrong several times, to forgetting people meals as both starter and mains (leaving people having to wait for Theo meal whilst others ate) and even meals coming out not cooked as requested - it just felt that the quality of both food and service just wasn’t what I would usually expect from an Ivy institute.
Very very poor in my opinion in all areas - I’ll be visiting again soon (only because it’s been arranged by friends over Christmas) I just hope it books it improves dramatically or I may have to take take a rain check.
A little disappointed with our food 🙁 3 out of 4 people ordered poached eggs and when they arrived they was cold. We didn’t complain and ate them as the taste out weighed the issue 🙂
What a fabulous place... absolutely loved it. Can’t wait to go back. Well done The Ivy , you’ve done an amazing job
Great food in a fabulous environment, staff were very helpful and tentative.
Would highly recommend
Had a lovely birthday at the Ivy. Don’t quite get some of the bad reviews. The staff are really friendly and I found very attentive . The food is lovely but you do have to pay extra for sides which bumps the price up . Without the extra sides you probably be quite hungry. It is expensive but I knew that when I booked. It’s great for a special occasion and the setting is beautiful. Is is very noisy and lively at night which I didn’t mind . If you want a quiet night out this probably is not the place to go. Booked for lunch in March and I am really looking forward to my next visit.
Great Pre Christmas evening meal for two. We will go again
Food was amazing but seemed either understaffed or just poor servers as desperately we had to ask for drinks extras and bill, which isn’t what you expect from a premier venue
Quality of food at The Ivy was outstanding and cannot be overstated, well done to the Chefs for this experience. The level of background music was extremely kid to the extent where one was shouting to hold a table conversation which increased the noise volume to a crescendo. In our view, if the music volume were lowered a little the general noise would diminish and increase the overall experience and quality of this delightful new restaurant
Only negative is that we waited longer for drinks than food. There was a supervisor overseeing everything and our waiter fed this back. Hopefully this will be ironed out over the next few months. Wait staff were excellent.
Arrived to be greeted and taken to our table which was nice.
Then it went downhill
No vegetarian menu available but shows one on the website so little choice on main menu.
Whilst halfway through our starters our main course arrived and the waiter took some convincing we didn’t want it yet hence it came back cold.
Waitress knocked a full glass of water over all the table so had to change table cloths.
Waiter tried to take my wife’s wine glass away which still had wine in it at nearly £10 a glass.
All this and had to pay 12% service charge
All in all a pretty poor experience and will not be returning
Busy place with lots of staff to make sure your visit goes well. 1 starter came very late but the bill reflected this without us asking. Has a great feel staff worked hard to ensure everyone was being served .
Busy, frenetic we felt a bit lost in all the atmosphere. We booked for afternoon tea and were seated next to the cashier tills. This didnt stop us having to ask for every element of our booking. Water came first. We asked for our food, it never just ‘came’ nor did any attendant ask us if we were ready. Our tea finally got served after we asked for it and at the end of our afternoon tea. It should have arrived with the food. The service charge was also set at 12.5% which given our sesting area, noise and lack of attention to detsil during service, was overpriced. We did however like the cocktails in the second flood lounge.
The food was good but not exceptional. The service was rather slow. It was busy but there seemed to be plenty of staff so not quite sure why we had to wait so long for service. Having said that I have booked to go back so it must have been OK!
Food very average , decor amazing , been 3 times, 1 was awful 1 was really good and 3rd was ok !
Tables are far too close together. Didn't appreciate being so cosy with the strangers sat next to me.
Ordered a steak medium well but came out bleeding. The waiter was happy to take it back.
However, for the price i paid i would have expected they bring me a fresh steak, which they didn't, and also, my sides were cold by the time my steak came back,. again,. for the prices paid this isn't the treatment that i would expect.
Impeccable service and a great atmosphere. Will definitely be dining at the Ivy again in the near future.
Just perfect. Lovely waiter called Adam. Loved it! X
What an exquisite place. It was very busy but we were seated at our pre booked table very promptly. Dean our waiter couldn’t do enough for us, he was what made our night. Very tentative and certainly knew his stuff. We even got talking to the couple next to us about how wonderful he was. Food was incredible and so tasty. We of course had to have 3 courses and all were superb. Highly recommend and will definitely be back soon
Amazing service from start to finish. Lorna even arranged for us to have our final drink in the roof garden. Can’t wait to go back.
Very good service friendly staff
Food very good
Decor really good and atmosphere perfect
I will be back
Amazing! Great food
Food was very good in parts. Shepherds pie was luke warm but tasted good. Steak was v good but fried eggs were solid. Creme brûlée v good. Very noisy, and busy decor wise. Tables a bit squashed. We were 20 mins early and no room at the bar for a drink so had to go over the road to The Alchemist. Nowhere to sit and wait even if you didn't want a drink. Unusual arrangement for the toilets. Directed to the first floor by a waitress but apparently the 2nd floor toilets are the main ones. 1st floor only 2 toilets and no mirrors. Ended up putting on lipstick and brushing my hair in the mirror on the lift. Wouldn't rush back - might try the Alchemist tho! Might give the rooftop restaurant a try in the summer.
What a lovely way to spend the afternoon with friends, great food, excellent service. Wine list very good. Returning on Saturday
Visited with four friends for lunch we all chose to to have the three course menu at £21 but with the addition of a couple of extra side dishes, drinks and service charge we actually paid £41 each how ever we all enjoyed the food and felt the cost was fair, I would highly recommend the Ivy special Gin&Tonic
A very enjoyable lunch in opulent surroundings will definitely be back.
Exellent customer service, friendly staff with smiles, decor absolutely beautiful will definitely be back
We had breakfast here, it was great, food really good. The place is really cool and great atmosphere. Staff really good and friendly! Few teething issues - ordered a 2nd latte which took ages to arrive and was warm - pet hate of mine - warm coffee! The other is the temperature of the overall restaurant is too cool - the is a personal preference - had to leave my coat on throughout the whole breakfast - turn the heating up a bit!
The location is great and the staff were really welcoming and friendly. Lovely building and beautifully decorated in the Ivy style.
The menu is not over ambitious and every dish looked and tasted really good. The presentation was excellent.
Lovely central bar in the brasserie with very accommodating bar staff.
Possibly a few too many tables squeezed in to the downstairs brasserie - we had to hold on to our glasses when the next table tried to squeeze in to their seats.
The lighting is very subdued, almost too much for some of us to be able to read the menu without the help of phone torches!!
The place was nicely decorated food was not nice and very dark could not see the menu and music was too loud also too too long for the food
Absolutely amazing food atmosphere was fabulous service was great price was very reasonable would highly recommend cocktails on roof terrace we’re a little expensive but worth it will definitely be returning real soon
This was our first visit, we ate in the Brasserie and absolutely loved everything about it. The food was superb, the bar area and the whole room is fabulous. We will definitely be back.
Great addition for Manchester. Nice simple great tasting food and not too expensive
Was Fab ! Must visit ! But you need to book quickly x
The Afternoon Tea was absolutely delicious, tasty fresh sandwiches and mouth watering cakes. Excellent value for money will be returning very soonx
Make sure your wallet's fat and your tolerance levels high. New, celeb-packed place in trendiest part of Manchester. We went mid Tuesday afternoon and it was very busy. Servers always very polite and responded quickly, but quite long time between courses, presumably the kitchen was busy. Very pricey for average food, though portions were generous. We paid £16 for chicken Milanese without any side dishes. It was also very noisy, the usual problem. Loud music, so customers raise their voices to make themselves heard and others speak louder, etc. The tables were crammed a bit close together, as well. Watch the 12.5% service charge as well. This turned an expensive meal into almost £100 for 3 courses but no alcohol
