The Ivy Brasserie, Spinningfields
Had such a wonderful time going for brunch with my mum. The staff were polite, friendly and attentive and the service they provide is brilliant, a little slow between seating/ordering/first course but the experience more than made up for that. The interior is utterly beautiful and the place is spotless. The food was just amazing - and the Brasserie prices were reasonable and good for such high quality food. Would seriously recommend!
Nice place nice atmosphere, food was rubbish. Definitely not the food quality I expected.
Absolutely fantastic. My boyfriend and I visited on Saturday night. The atmosphere was amazing and the food was out of this world. 5* treatment from start to finish.
We loved it, great food, atmosphere and lovely to be able to have the remainder of our drink at the bar after the meal.
Will definitely return.
Lovely birthday dessert for my husband, lovely touch. Thank you
Great food, average service [slow] and very noisy... not conducive to dining and chatting with friends. Not the same experience as either London or Leeds.
Lovely food at a very reasonable price, 3 courses approximately £50 each. Super cool place and very good staff. Perfect really.
Table wasn't ready when we arrived. Had a party of 8 and we were sent upstairs to get drinks which took around 25 minutes. Eventually seated into a crammed booth, it was absolutely boiling hot and everyone complained but we were told we'd get used to it.
Food was OK - me and another lady had steak and asked for medium rare and rare, both were well done.
The other food looked OK and the food was priced OK. Cocktails were around £10 which is to be expected, however we were going to get a bottle of prosecco and were told it was £50 a bottle so we decided against it. A friend did buy a bottle of chardonnay at £36 and was charged £4.50 extra for opening it.
As a party of 8 we should have had three hours, we didn't get seated until 5pm (half an hour late) and so should have easily been there until around 8pm, but around 6.45 the staff were hovering around and brought the bill (without us asking), so it was all very rushed, rather than being a really pleasant chilled afternoon with friends.
The chocolate bombe was divine and probably the only saving grace for the day!
I wouldn't go again. This was a special occasion for a friend's birthday but it was just rushed, expensive, hot and cramped with relatively OK food, I've had a better steak in our local pub for half the price.
Fabulous service. Fantastic food. Jonathan our waiter made the whole experience. After the mix up by Open table saying that we cancelled our reservation of which we had not, however the Ivy was faultless
Despite it being very busy the service, care and attention was excellent
Fabulous from start to finish. Our only complaint was it’s quite warm in the brassiere, we did ask if aircon could be turned up a bit, but i don’t think it happened.
Lovely place, amazing food and great service. Will definitely be returning soon.
Very good food, great service and gorgeous surroundings!
Very nice cool place with nice food and good service. Tables a little close together fir my liking.
excellent in every way...........service was good and explanation of menu was good, and understood our dietery reqirements
First visit to the Manchester restaurant although I’d previously visited 3 of the London restaurants. My only (small) complaints are that the background music was too loud, making conversation difficult, and the tables are too close together. Food and service though were outstanding.
No issues as such, however I have been to other places that were more enjoyable all round, hence the 4stars. We noticed the close together tables, but luckily wasn't a problem for us, we could see how would be annoying for others in a less optimal seat though. Someone started being a bit rowdy and were
asked to be a bit more respectful and then removed very quickly. Food was delicious, although slightly more than I'd liked to have paid. The chocolate Bomb desert was incredible!
Table was set for 6, when booked for 7.
Not all meals came at the same time, was waiting for one starter and one main meal while the others had been given there’s.
Did not bother with dessert as took too long.
The main limitation was food. Only around 4 main dishes could eat. Do not serve halal meat so limited to fish dishes. For that reason won't be able to cone back.
Service atmosphere nice
Service levels were fantastic. Our server was a credit to the restaurant and the door staff were incredibly accommodating.
The venue was inviting and opulent, the staff were wonderful and the food delicious.
The set menu in the Brasserie was a good option for early diners and I can recommend the Ivy champagne.
It was, however, extremely noisy and busy and I thought our table for 5 was a little cramped. This may be due to refurbishment work upstairs and being a Friday so this could improve.
Would I return? definitely. Everyone has to try this place at least once.
Stunning venue, with such great service. Elegant all round. Food was delicious and the wine was also very nice.
Good food, OK service but the restaurant exudes an aura of chaos .... it’s packed (they seem desperate to squeeze as many covers out of their space at whatever the cost), its noisy. Large scale smashing of glasses / crockery on at least 2 occasions whilst we were there hardly adds to the relaxation and ambience. You really should work on this otherwise it just becomes a regular “chain” which will not attract a regular loyal clientele. I will be eating at another branch of the chain in 3 weeks and so will be keen to see the comparison ..... overall, nice, good at best but certainly nowhere near a great dining experience.
Ambiance lovely service very good , the food good ,,, don’t appreciate the high service charge , there were only two of us , which didn’t warrant a £15 charge,,, plus I will decide how much I tip not the restaurant,,,
This is my second time at The Ivy and I’ll definitely return. The food was delicious couldn’t fault it, everyone in the party commented on how nice the food was. Prices are just what you would expect for any restaurant in that area of town. The only problem I could think of was the noise level it was very busy we were sat in a small quiet booth area however this still was too loud. Even though it was busy service was on point we weren’t waiting long periods to be served.
We are going to return.
Good in all respects
Gregory’s breakfast. Added bacon to a breakfast dish and felt the cost was a lot of two pieces of bacon. Otherwise lovely morning
We though The Ivy was decent, a refreshing change from the San Carlo, nice that somebody has actually managed to open somewhere new in Manchester that serves fairly good food, nice vibe, pleasant doormen very swish interior, would recommend but beware pretty much London prices with a hefty 12.5 % service charge, meal for 2 with a £55 bottle of wine and 2 glasses of champagne (valentines day) total £227 ! Realistically I would never of left a £25 tip based on the service which was very average a tenner would of been plenty, tables that serve 2 are far to close together felt like I was sat with the people on the tables either side of us, 7-10.
The food was good however we felt like we were being rushed to order food. Then when we did order the starter came very quickly and so did the main to follow. While the staff were nice I requested fresh limes for my water twice and they never arrived. The cocktails were lovely as was the recommended IPL.
We really enjoyed our dinner at Ivy Brasserie! The interior is so pretty and welcoming staff is so friendly and helpful. But it’s overpriced for service charge.
Would recommend it and would definitely come back to try The Ivy Asia.
On the whole our Valentine's Day experience at The Ivy was special. The atmosphere was great and the food was excellent. The service was mostly good but just one thing let it down. It took half an hour for a waiter to clear away our plates after we had finished our main course. There was a change of shift during our visit which meant a change of waiter. This seemed to cause the issue. We were sitting right at the back of the brasserie and so couldn't even attract any passing waiting staff's attention. It wouldn't put me off going again but has stopped me giving overall outstanding.
The food was gorgeous and the staff were extremely polite me and my other half had the most amazing night and we would definitely recommend the ivy to friends.
It was quite expensive but we had a good night
Table’s very close together for what is meant to be a top restaurant experience, food just average for the price.
Whilst the setting and decor are impressive , the seating is cramped and the food a mixed bag.
Our waitress spent majority of her shift checking her watch. We didn't realise there were any specials until the couple who sat next to us, or almost on our knees were served by another wauter who listed them. We had already ordered by then. I had yhe valentines cocktail, it was okush, and tiny. My starter was good , tempura prawns and squid, but my better half was really disappointed with his scallops. The main course arrived very quickly, to quickly. My crab linguine had for to much chilli dressing , so the crab was overwhelmed, the Keralan monkfish curry was good. We ordered truffles and coffee and asked for our bill, we explained we had a Christmas voucher to put towards it. The waitress nodded and disappeared. Twenty minutes later I asked what appeared to be a team manager if she had left and got some cock and bull story that she'd go and find her. Then another ten minutes go by and the team manager comes back with a card reader. We explain again we have voucher, she disappeared and returns with the bill from another table minus our £50. Off she goes again until we finally get the correct bill. So dreadful service, charged at 12.5%, completely overcrowded seating, average food and overpriced. Living on its name, things need to pick up or it will soon lose its lustre. There are many better places in Manchester to eat.
Absolutely fabulous from service, food to the gorgeous ladies room on the 2nd floor!
Will certainly be my new favourite.
We were very disappointed as were so looking forward to it. We had vouchers and while we knew we couldn’t have change, I asked for the bill to see the total. The bill was wrong 3 times and then the “change” was added as over a £25 charge, on top of £12 service charge. We had to ask if we could use the extra towards drinks which eventually was agreed. Lots of staff but had to ask for drinks when empty etc
Tables in brasserie very close together.
Food average, fillet steak £29.99 then extra for chips, salad and sauce.
A lovely sociable environment, with great food and service.
Tables too close together, lighting very dark and too many staff whom do not seem to be organised. Food however was good
We checked in on time for our reservation but had to wait around 20 minutes for our table to become available. However the bar was a lovely area to sit with a drink. Food was delicious. One of our sweets was served incorrectly but this was quickly sorted. Beautiful surroundings, staff were friendly & courteous.
I've dined at a number of Ivy's always been a good experience
First visit to Manachester Ivy,will return hopefully many times.
Great first visit. We are from the vegetarian and vegan menu. Great offering. We could eat off the same menu on a number of visits without having the same thing twice.
