We went here for my birthday on Saturday and the door service was fantastic, but we were seated at the bar straight away and charged a service charge for the drinks - I would not mind having the choice of this except my partner was given a can of beer and I was given a wine - there was no conversation, no proper service really. When we were seated, the service was quite cold and to be honest, awkward. We ordered two burgers and the duck curry. I can’t fault the taste of my curry, but it wasn’t the warmest. The big issue with the food was the two burgers which those who ordered said it was really dry and difficult to eat. The bread they said tasted stale and wasn’t really worthy of the price. All round - not a great experience. I’ve always wanted to try it and I’m glad I did to make sure I don’t go there again and tell people to not waste their time or money doing the same.

The music was VERY loud which impacted upon our evening, had to shout to hear one another. Service charge was very expensive refused to pay but did leave a tip. Set menu very limited for mains but the food was good. All the windows were open causing significant draft and felt cold, once closed it was much better. Please address the volume of the music as a priority.

The Ivy Manchester is an absolute delight, effortlessly combining elegance with a vibrant atmosphere. From the moment you enter, the chic decor and friendly staff set the tone for a memorable dining experience. The menu is a celebration of modern British cuisine, featuring an impressive variety that caters to all tastes.I highly recommend the steak it melts in your mouth and accompanied by a sauce that elevates the dish. For dessert, don’t miss the decadent chocolate bombe, which is a showstopper that melts to reveal a luscious filling. The service is impeccable, with attentive staff who genuinely care about your dining experience. The Ivy truly strikes a perfect balance between sophistication and warmth, making it an ideal spot for both casual lunches and special celebrations. Highly recommend visiting .

Lovely food, staff very attentive . Didn’t like the fact had to pay for chips separately to the steak so nearly £40 for steak and chips

On Saturday, we had an early evening meal at the Spinningfields restaurant prior to going to the theatre. The restaurant was absolutely packed and very noisy, but I suppose we should have anticipated this on a weekend afternoon. We invited two guests, one of whom was celebrating a special birthday. Neither had been to The Ivy before, but we'd recommended it highly based on our several previous visits. Service was of the usual high standard, professional but friendly. The food was overall delicious, though one of our guests ordered a steak medium rare and the one he received was nearly well done. He insisted on not making a fuss, so the staff weren't given a chance to rectify the situation, but it was nevertheless disappointing he didn't get what he asked for.. Unfortunately, the same guest was also seated in a chair with an arm rest that was tattered on the corner. We were a bit embarrassed as we always rave about the beautiful decor and ambience, which was a bit of a letdown on this occasion. The meal ended on a high due to the delicious desserts we all enjoyed. The birthday girl in our party loved her birthday box, and the rest of us loved our chocolate bombes. Overall, we had a nice time and a tasty meal. It's just a shame everything wasn't perfect for our guests.

We have eaten at 2 Ivy restaurants and our food has been outstanding. They say their dessert special is the chocolate bomb but their crème brûlée is amazing.
