The food was v good. The restaurant was busy. I felt the service was rather slow and wondered if there was a staffing issue.

The afternoon tea is not value for money. The margarine sandwich with cucumber is a poor effort. Also felt a little like cattle all being so close together, not good with the current COVID situation.

Booked for afternoon tea and we were very disappointed. After having enjoyed afternoon tea at the Midland Hotel Manchester only a couple of weeks ago we were looking forward to this one at the Ivy. What a let down, only enjoyed one of the sandwiches and the cakes and scones were very dry. I did not drink the green stuff in the milk bottles as my husband tried it and said it wasn’t pleasant, we weren’t even sure why it was there. Overall not a good afternoon tea , there are many places that are much better.

Normally have a great time here but this time left feeling a little underwhelmed. Quite crowded for a Tuesday lunchtime and smaller table than would have preferred. Had mentioned was there for a birthday lunch but didn’t get the little birthday mini dessert at the end of the meal as usual. Didn’t feel special enough for Ivy prices, just like an ordinary lunch in Manchester. Will stick to dinners here in the future where it has always been exceptional service from start to finish.

Cheese soufflé and Halibut special were delicious . Friends enjoyed scallops, Shepherds pie and prawn cocktail. Good cocktails before our lunch. A bit noisy but otherwise ambience was friendly.

Nice venue. Took ages to order our first drinks, was like we weren’t there for the first 10-15 minutes. Service improved after that though.

Food was average at best, very disappointed. Not what you expect from a high end city centre restaurant. All show no go I’m afraid.

Lovely venue. Service really good. Food excellent. I just don’t like it when a service charge is added. Let customers choose what they want to leave.

Service was excellent but food disappointing. Couple of us had chicken curry tasty but meat too hard to cut. Chips not fresh just tasted like oven chips. But we all enjoyed the atmosphere and couldn’t praise the staff enough

The welcome at the reception desk could have been warmer / more sincere! Pleasant decor and a bustling atmosphere inside. Not a huge choice on the lunch menu. Food and drinks were of average quality and overpriced. Service was slow but we were attended by a pleasant waiter. Ok experience overall as a one-off but I wouldn't rush back!

A fantastic experience with the team. We arrived and requested a different table so the host suggested a table in the rooftop garden which was absolutely fantastic! We had sooo much fun. The service was excellent. The view was incredible. Nothing was to ask from our hosts. Even the security at the entrance added positively to our experience. I will absolutely be back. Thanks to the team for an excellent experience.

We had the Champagne Afternoon Tea for two. The food itself was nice enough but it was a bit if a rip off. I had a voucher for £74 for the afternoon tea then we had a G&T each, total cost £105! I know people pay for the ‘experience’ but it really was a lot of money for very little. I could get 2 weeks’ shopping for that.

Lovely ambiance. Good choice. Lovely decor. Extremely friendly staff. Very good food that was presented well.
Cheap looking wine glasses. Our wine was kept in an ice bucket that was quite a distance from our table. We had empty glasses at times. The table we were on was very close to the tables at each side of us. My friend was facing into the restaurant but I was facing the window. Our bill was incorrect. It took 20 minutes for us to speak with someone in order to rectify this.

It always feels a special occasion going to The Ivy and it was again on our recent visit. I think the food is very slightly overpriced but I have never been unhappy with the quality of the food and drink. The ambiance is really nice, I am sure it suits the majority of guests though, I could have had it a bit louder maybe to create a bit more of an atmosphere, but thats a very personal opinion.

Its a fab place and a real treat. Love it
