Great food, lovely atmosphere, reasonable prices x
We had a meal with you for my wife’s 50 birthday and in truth all was going well until her food arrived .
Her steak was cooked well as requested but the sauce which covered the steak was so salty that she had to leave it .
Our waitress never came over to enquire how are meal was but only after my wife had been sat waiting for fifteen mins with a plate full of uneaten steak .
My wife explained to the waitress that the meal was not edible so after speaking with her manager we were offered a complimentary tea or coffee which after further conversation moved to a complimentary desert.
In the end we had to refuse to pay for her steak but paid for all other food and drink consumed .
In short not a great eating experience which somewhat took the edge of the occasion .
Birthday for my dad. Had time to go to the roof garden, we weren’t rushed at our table and the server was great
Had a fabulous early dinner with family in the Brasserie. Would highly recommend it!
Our third visit to the Ivy and again absolutely no complaints.
We turned up an hour early so had drinks at the bar and were shown to our table at The allocated time.
Service and food both splendid.
The team do really well in a very busy dining room .
We cane to celebrate a 40th birthday. We were blown away with everything! The atmosphere, the food, the service and attention. Highly recommended, we can’t wait to go back. Thank yiu
Unfortunately the service was extremely poor. We were asked to wait in the bar but there wasn’t anywhere to stand or sit. Service at the bar was deplorable. Took nearly half an hour to get served once we were seated at the table. Staff seem to have poor customer service skills. Shame because the food is lovely.
Service was extremely poor. Booked for a special occasion and was disappointed. Took over half an hour to receive the starter and had to chase the mains where there was a further delay. Took over an hour and a half for a 2 course meal
Everything was superb, the only problem was my husband's burger was slightly burnt along with chips, but other than that it was amazing.
Great service. Very friendly. Beautiful food. Great Meal with friends
Very busy so the service wasn’t that good. The lobster risotto was beautiful but I had the swordfish for main and it was over cooked. The truffle and Parmesan fries are to die for.
Fab day for my daughters birthday
Food was first class and atmosphere amazing
Very poor service we sat at table for over 30 minutes and no-one came over. We had to ask for them to take a drinks order. We were then given special treatment for about 10 mins but as soon as another waitress took over it was difficult to order again. They do not have enough staff to cope with demand. Lovely food though and decor.
Very loud environment service from our waitress was excellent. Didn’t feel overcrowded but it was extremely noisy.
Nice birthday afternoon tea, very friendly staff, from begining to end, but very busy, very noisy (it was sat afternoon) tables are sat to close to everyone really, bit crammed in. reasonably priced too.. i would recommend it...!!
Great food, great service definitely will go back next time I visit Manchester
Excellent service and delicious food would definitely recommend to a friend and family
Having been before we do enjoy eating at the Ivy. However the food wasn't quite so good this time. My prawn cocktail would have been better named a lettuce cocktail. The salmon with champagne sauce was pretty tasteless. The parmesan chips were delicious if a little rubbery. The brulee was delicious. The bill!
Fantastic food and brilliant service in gorgeous surroundings!
Such a lovely place, went for the first time and was really impressed by the decor; linen; quality of tea set and friendliness of the staff. It was just such a nice experience, almost like stepping back to another era where there was quality in restaurants. Will be back and in the meantime will tell everyone about it.
What a wonderful place. Service was good and the surroundings are stunning
The food was lovely my only complaint is that the food was cold
Extremely poor quality food , overpriced and steaks not cooked as requested . Sent back as undercooked returned over cooked.
Vegetables cold ... and I mean cold not even slightly warm !
Very expensive for quality of food . Will not return to dine here .
Have eaten at The Ivy in York and couldn’t fault it ... maybe your kitchen staff require training from York chefs.
Fabulous customer service, staff all very attentive without being intrusive. Food & drink was amazing - food was reasonably price, the wine was expensive though delicious
Really enjoyed our night out at The Ivy in Manchester. It was a special occasion marking the imminent retirement of a much loved colleague and I felt that both the food and the service were worthy of it. Sensible
portion size, good cocktails, it was all very enjoyable indeed.
Having already been to Ivy Asia a few months before for a birthday, we decided to try out the brasserie - it was lovely. Service was great and the food was 10/10. Would highly recommend.
Very very nice place the food was a bit cold but very tastey ,waited a while for food and drinks ,the staff were friendly and there was a good vibe about the place ,just a shame the food was a bit cold .
Lovely meal at the ivy. The overall feel of the place is great and afab experience. Food and service very good.
Fab staff, brilliant food and a exceptional attention to detail.
Great service from start to finish, and cocktails & food all lovely. Will definitely return when next in Manchester.
Went for lunch on Friday.. Fantastic meal and service, thoroughly enjoyed by all
First time visit for my wife's Birthday and it was as special as we had hoped. Service was absolutely first class and the food matched. The waitress found out that it was my wife's birthday and delivered a mini birthday cake with the dessert - class!
Only negative was the roof garden was a little hectic before our meal and we felt a little uncomfortable having our pre-lunch cocktails.
Would recommend. Great service, good food and a large wine range.
Lovely food, great selection on the menu, outstanding service, overall a delightful dining experience
Great starters and dessert, a little disappointed with the mains. Swordfish quite average and monkfish and prawn curry was ok, not enough monkfish or prawns. Drinks a little expensive too!
Superb service and it is a lovely place and overall a very nice experience.
We had a wonderful meal here to celebrate graduation. The staff were all very attentive and friendly. The food was all excellent quality and we thoroughly enjoyed the Wimbledon themed dessert! Would go again if we’re in Manchester.
We had a lovely meal but the service was poor. It took us 40 mins to place our order. We had to flag a waiter/waitress down if we needed something or wanted to order desert. Seems the wait staff are very good at not looking towards the tables and therefore avoiding you when trying to catch their eye. Don’t remember it being that bad on other occasions. Plus it was 4pm this time so not busy.
Loved the whole place. Great ambiance and the staff were the best. I loved the food, in fact it couldn’t have been better. The reason I gave only 4 stars was because my friend and I both had the same meal - Crispy Duck salad ( fabulous ) and great monkfish and prawn curry ( wonderful ) and I felt a bit disappointed that on both the starter and the main course mine was much smaller than my friends. Perhaps I’m just being greedy ! I have noticed at other restaurants that when two people on the table have the same meal because presumably they cook the meal together then one often is smaller than the other - and not always mine ! I do feel at a top quality restaurant the meals should be identical.
The moment my husband and I arrived, we were looked after. We were asked if it was a special occasion and we told the staff it was our 10th Wedding Anniversary. The service was impeccable, we were never left waiting for anything. The food was absolutely beautiful. Before our deserts arrived, they brought us a small desert, free of charge, to celebrate our anniversary. Our waitress also took some photos of us when we asked her. The whole experience is something we will never forget. Plus, the ladies toilets are the nicest I’ve been in anywhere!
My second time at the Ivy Brasserie. We had the set menu and the food was excellent. The young lady who served us was really great. She was friendly helpful and added to the experience. Would definitely recommend.
Long wait time to order, as previous reviews, felt squashed in, background music was too loud. The service was slow, messed up a starter, also a desert. The food was tremendous. They tried to charge our small party for bottles of wine we hadn’t ordered, maybe they hoped we wouldn’t check our bill. £150 knocked off. So disappointing.
