    The Dalton Room at The Ivy Spinningfields seats 18 guests on one long table or 20 across two rounds of 10. This exclusive space in the heart of Spinningfields is available for breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as drinks and canapé receptions for up to 40 guests. The bespoke patterned white Carrara and grey Fior de Pesco grey marble tiled flooring, eclectic mix of vintage dining chairs upholstered with bold floral and palm printed fabric, and hanging gilt leaf pendants add a touch of glamour to the room. Taking centre stage is a striking ceiling coffer, complete with cotton flowers in a nod to Manchester’s former “Cottonopolis” heritage, set against gold leafing. With a selection of Ivy brasserie menus available, specially created by our Executive Chef, Sean Burbidge, The Dalton Room is equally suited to private parties and celebratory dinners as it is for corporate breakfasts and lunches.

    We arrived five minutes before our time and were told we were early so could go up to the top floor and have a drink. Surely the table would have been laid? £25 and 15 minutes later we sat out our table in the brasserie. I faced the wall of cluttered plants as we had a table for two, slightly too close to the people on both sides as I could hear all they were discussing. We ordered starters and mains. The duck salad was well presented and tasted lovely. The salmon was very thinly sliced and looked opaque. The lemon was in muslin which prevented it from being squeezed. Unfortunately the bread, which looked delicious, could not be tasted as the salmon was too overpowering. The mains were fish cakes and courgette linguine. We ordered a side of chips which must have been triple cooked before we arrived but left under a heater, as they had dried out and tasted of the oil they were cooked in. The pasta was tasty but lacking in amount. After a few years of waiting and thinking we would be in for a treat the hype was not worth the money. We felt as though the scripts had been learned for effect, without genuine feeling. We will not rush to return.

    I had salmon and then we both had steak.iv been dreadfully sick all night and still feel really ill.my partner is fine.so therefore think it must have been the salmon.

    Food and atmosphere is lovely, really enjoyed our brunch. My only negative is where we were seated at the very back of the restaurant in an empty corner (it later filled) - apart from that little issue which made us feel like we'd been hidden away - every moment after that was perfect.

    We came here for our wedding meal and had a really fantastic evening! The service is always amazing and the food is incredible. The only small downside was my partners vegan main was ever so slightly bland but it was rectified really quickly when we mentioned it. As always, we will be back! 😁

    The Brasserie was amazing we had the set menu which was absolute value for money and most definitely have it again and recommend the def menu to all my friends and family. Plus we were given the most amazing dessert celebrating our wedding and honeymoon.
