The Ivy Buchanan Street Glasgow
The Ivy Buchanan Street offers residents, businesses and shoppers a relaxed yet sophisticated dining experience.
Great setting and service. Food just acceptable. Had the fish gougons but the the batter was soggy rather than crisp and the chips were over cooked.
Our Server Veronica was fabulous. She was so friendly and incredibly helpful and knowledgable and was attentive to our needs without going overboard or bothering us. She was just so so lovely and helped to make my sons 16th birthday a lovely experience.
Excellent food and service in lovely surroundings.
The food was outstanding and presented superbly. Regret to say the staff are still off the mark in terms of service for this standing of restaurant.
We were too long to receive pre Dinner drinks from the bar and this insistence of keeping the wine chilled away from the table only works when the staff are 100% attentive, on two occasions I had to indicate we were seeking more wine in our glass.
I do object to being billed for a 12.5% service charge, especially on Drinks Bill, in actual fact the service did not merit that level of tip.
Altogether though it was a good experience, made by the quality of the food.
Really lovely meal in great surroundings. We then went upstairs to the cool bar with DJ playing nice tunes. Loos were spiffing too!
Lovely restaurant - we did not realise there was an upstairs option which my have been better - we were seated close to the door. Staff were very attentive even with the problem with the cold food.
The Ivy Glasgow is a great place for a relaxed breakfast treat.
All staff were very friendly and efficient;you can tell it’s a great place to work.
Very good quality produce and beautiful surroundings.
I’ve had many great meals around the world & the ivy Glasgow is up at the top, from them moment we entered to we left it was totally amazing food drinks & service highest of standard,we will be back again soon thanks for a great evening.
We had a table of 4 upstairs. It was a very busy Saturday night so noise levels were a bit high. Food was lovely and service spot on. We had soup, prawn cocktail and prawn /squid tempura followed by steak, pork, sole and sweet potato curry. Coffee for all and 2 creme brulees. Would happily return.
This is a beautiful restaurant. Service let it down on this occasion ........ water bottle was placed on table not poured, plates cleared before other party members finished eating, no attention to when drinks had finished, not asked to have coffee and when ticket for coats given to server he handed it back and told us to wait at door, despite our coats being in the upstairs cloakroom. Food delicious.
Excellent food and fanrastic service. I feel the service charge at 12.5% albeit discretionary is a tad steep plus I like to leave my own tip. Drinks are great and well presented but again a tad overpriced.
Absolutely fantastic as ever!
Thank you for making the Golden Wedding of our in-laws very special!
Had a fantastic meal at Ivy Glasgow.
Great range of cocktails, wine and food.
Staff and service was first class.
Favoured by groups of ladies who lunch,so was a bit shrill when we arrived but soon quietened down!!!
Will defo be back.
The Ivy did not disappoint, excellent food and staff.
Beautiful place, really attentive staff. The food was nicely presented.
Had a great time
Fabulous food and service
Would definitely recommend and go back
Great service, lovely food & drinks.. liked the atmosphere upstairs
Very enjoyable. The restaurant was busy and food was slow to arrive but we did not mind unduly. We found the ambient temperature upstairs at our window table a bit low. We sat at the far end of the bar waiting for our table as we had arrived early. Every time the entrance door was opened a cold blast of air was felt. We do feel that this should be addressed as a priority.
We were a little disappointed by The Ivy. My husband and I decided to book for my 30th birthday meal after hearing it was opening in Glasgow. We arrived early to get some cocktails which was fine but the staff came back to ask if we were waiting on a table and what's our name, about 5 minutes after seating us at the bar. It then came to our reservation time and no one came to get us so we eventually had to go down to them and ask to be seated. Then the girl came and asked again for our name of the reservation because she had got mixed up. We had steak and asked for rare and medium rare but both pieces of meat were cooked to medium. I felt the food was a little overpriced for what it is, especially the steaks if they aren't going to be cooked the way you ask for them.
One small little point - I'd put on the reservation that it was my birthday and the couple next to us received a small gesture for their anniversary but we received nothing.
The food was ok but we’ve had a lot better elsewhere for less. We sat upstairs but ended up right beside the DJ and sax player. This would have been lovely if we were further away, but it felt a bit intrusive. Some staff were great, while others were ok. The lobster risotto and lobster linguine were great and the fillet steak was good, but the blackened cod was just ok (a bit bland). I wouldn’t say no to going back, but it certainly wouldn’t be my first choice.
Food lovely, except the vegetables I had with my main meal. Restaurant amazing, staff amazing, so friendly and attentive. Will definitely be back. Thankyou for a lovely dining experience
Lovely place.Great atmosphere.Great food.Terrific service.What more can you ask.
I have dined in the original Ivy (nothing to beat it) plus others - in London and Edinburgh.
However, Glasgow has a great atmosphere and in a good situation in the City centre.
I look forward to dining there again.
Was good to try, portion sizes were bit small but good was nice, service was really good waitress was very helpful and chatty
Will go back
After a slight mix up I ended up having to dine alone and the staff made me feel welcome and ensured everything was perfect.
Decadent and luxurious, felt like I was in New York in the 1930s!
Excellent food and lovely surroundings. A great dining experience
Very enjoyable experience. Staff were extremely efficient and polite. Food was excellent and very reasonably priced.
Lovely place attentive staff but food disappointing.
Staff were lovely most of the meals were nice however the lobster linguine had little to no lobster in it and was certainly not worth £29 was just like tomato pasta! Blackened cod however was Devine and special dessert for birthday was a nice touch
Lovely staff and good food. Nice ambience and didn’t feel rushed.
First visit and enjoyed every minute. Loved the relaxed atmosphere (Tues night when the restaurant wasnt too busy or noisy) and the comfortable, tasteful decor.
Staff were friendly and welcoming on arrival, and attentive without being intrusive.
Food was of a high standard and very well presented, quite pricey but I guess you are also paying for the whole ambience.
One downside..hate to see service charge being automatically included on bill even for small parties like ours. I know it's becoming more common but in my view a tip should be completely at customer's discretion.
Service was the worst I have experienced in a while. 2.5 hours for 2 courses. Won’t be back again.
Food was lovely and the service was first class. I would highly recommend a visit if you are in the area
The food does not reflect the menu, tempura squid/prawns was actually pano bread crumb squid/prawns deep fried.
The noise levels make conversation difficult.
12.5% service charge is not justified by the service delivered
Loved the experience staff food drinks etc were absolutely superb especially the apple tart fine amazing.
The only complaint was the music was extremely loud until the DJ came on duty. It felt like being in a club.
It won't stop me coming back though!
Staff were very welcoming, efficient and pleasant. Starter of scallops was a bit on the cold side and I mentioned that to staff. Main course of yellowfin tuna was delicious. Very busy on a Sunday afternoon and a bit noisy. Glad we had a table in the corner out of the way. Lovely décor. Food is pricey and the wine is over priced.
What a fantastic experience at the Ivy in Glasgow, food was outstanding and the service was great couldn’t fault anything at all
Visited the Ivy Buchanan street on 3rd November for a family birthday lunch. Our table was in the first floor bar & the atmosphere was brilliant, we all loved the DJ playing in the background which wasn’t too loud. The service was great from start to finish, especially Veronica who served us & made us feel so welcome. The food was delicious & the ivy signature cocktails were the best ever, definitely worth a visit.
Food and service was excellent
However the music was AWFUL ( type of music and volume
We sat downstairs on purpose as we new there was a DJ upstairs
We will not be back to the Ivy on a Saturday night unless there is a change of policy regarding the music Spoke to one of the managers who confirm that the music that is played is the same in all the Ivy restaurants and it has had “mixed “ reviews
