French onion soup was lukewarm. Replaced it, but nothing taken off the bill. Style, a bit lacking on substance.

I've been to the Ivy Canary Wharf, Tower Bridge, Manchester and many other branches, never had such an annoying experience. Racist service team, I got my booking at 9:15 but the whole service team from the reception to the manager all tried to find excuses not serving me and my friends. One of the excuses was that the kitchen will be closed at 10pm, but my booking was 9:15, I didn't get the point at all. Right after us, I saw a group of local people went in directly and got a table for food???

We thoroughly enjoyed the Murder Mystery dinner at The Ivy. However we felt the portion sizes were very small and were disappointed to find that side dishes were not included in the fixed price menu. The food was good but I felt £55 for a 3 course dinner was rather expensive.

Enjoyed lunch with friends at The Ivy, the restaurant is very nice inside. On arrival I didn’t find the staff particularly friendly, they appeared quite formal with no smiles. We sat downstairs which had a nice ambiance. I had the French onion soup to start which was very tasty and quite filling followed by fish and chips, the chips were a little disappointing as it looked as though I may have gotten what looked like the end of a frozen packet of chips with lots of small broken pieces of chips. I didn’t have any room for dessert so finished with a coffee. It’s not cheap to eat and drink at The Ivy but it’s a nice place to catch up with friends now and again😀A service charge is added to your bill.

It’s in the right place, half way up Buchanan Street. It’s got a name that implies certain standards, but it’s just not that special. An overpriced brasserie that failed in some basics. We’d gone for a quick pre concert dinner. Our waiter was charming and helpful so that was a good start. The icy draught that came whenever the door was opened less so. Quite noisy overall. Starters were good if a bit mean on quantity. Tempura squid was delicious but not actually tempura. For main,, I’d gone sirloin steak and chips with Bearnaise. It was actually the worst steak I have had in my life at any price. And that after quite a wait. Ordered medium rare came more than well done. Tough and full of gristle that I almost choked on, if I’d had time it would have gone back. Sauce cold but tasty. Chips very good, Wife had sea bass. OK. But advertised samphire almost non existent. House red wine unacceptably poor in this day and age. Complaint initially got a gesture of free glass of wine. That wasn’t really appropriate, and manager agreed not to charge for steak, and coffee complimented. So well done her. They took their eye off the ball tonight, but I think they have issues with their meat and wine suppliers. And they need that door fixed.

It’s a lovely location and setting. The staff are excellent , very welcoming and organised . We were there for Brunch on a Sunday . The Brunch menu is limited but delicious. I would point out , it’s a bit disappointing that in Glasgow , the heart of the West of Scotland , there isn’t even a tip of the hat towards a full Scottish breakfast for Brunch 😀 But the staff and the food that is available is excellent.

The reason for my rating I had requested an upstairs table which I appreciate cannot always be accommodate, which we did not get we were seated downstairs. My Husband enjoyed his meal and although my starter was nice my steak was luke warm the tender stem broccoli was cold and still very hard. No member of staff came over to see if we were enjoying our meal. This was our 5th visit to the Ivy Glasgow and was I personally was extremely disappointedSprevious visits had gone well.
