The Ivy Buchanan Street Glasgow
The Ivy Buchanan Street offers residents, businesses and shoppers a relaxed yet sophisticated dining experience.
Very tasty food and pleasant atmosphere. Overall very good, other than was charged slightly more than the menu stated on one item.
The food was outstanding, the background chatter is pleasantly blocked by music played throughout the restaurant, while maintaining a noise level which makes conversation easy. Service is excellent, staff are great, couldn’t give a higher recommendation.
Great corner table, service very good, loved the decor and food
A wonderful experience. I would certainly go again without hesitation.
Valentines night, so tables had been crammed too close to enjoy a private dinner.
Food was really bad. I had rib eye steak and had to return it as it was just full of fat. My wife’s risotto was also really poor and dry.
Not best experience...seems the brand is being diluted the more sites they open.
First time in the Ivy and will definitely be back again soon. Great service from all the staff, very attentive from the moment you walk in until the moment you leave. Our waiter made a good wine recommendation and was great throughout the meal even the small details such as we required a new straw for a drink one was brought over in a napkin,. Food was excellent probably one of the best meals I’ve had in a while and the restaurant has a fantastic atmosphere.
Quality of food was ok, although the steak came well done (and was tough) when it was ordered medium. The steaks are pricey and come alone, which means you need to spend even more money to have some accompaniments. Prawn cocktail looked fancy but was difficult to eat due to the nature of the bowl that it was served in. Service was average. Lighting was very poor, which made it EXTREMELY difficult to read the menu. The lighting was dim when we arrived and then turned down further. People at other tables were using their phone light as a torch in order to have sufficient illumination to read the menu. The Farmhouse Fruit Bowl Mocktail was the highlight by a considerable margin. Prices are wholly unreasonable and there is definitely better quality and value in many other eateries in Glasgow. I will be recommending friends and family choose another restaurant for dining out.
The building itself is amazing, they have done a phenomenal job on the renovations. Service was second to none and the food was excellent, in particular the Pumpkin soup that we went back for the following day !!
Food is good and the staff except the gentleman who has eyeglasses on . ( he is bold)
The table for two which we had was very near the couple sitting next to us and they had the same problem with the table next to them.
Other than that it was ok but was surprised T the 15% service charge added automatically to your bill
Good quality food and great service. Lovely decor and furnishings but entrance set up congested and disorganised
All in all a good lunch at Valentines Day with exception of the drink. Had ordered a kir royale but received a glass of champagne with bramble liqueur and berries. It's just not the same.
Will make sure the wine waiter knows the difference next time.
Otherwise a lovely restaurant which I can recommend.
We enjoyed a lovely lunch, served by Clare on 14 February. She was excellent! The ambiance in The Ivy is delightful and we really enjoyed the food too. We’ll be back!
Staff were charming, food great in a lovely relaxing atmosphere
Fabulous meal with efficient and friendly service in beautiful surroundings! Will definitely be back.
Very good meal. A bit expensive but you get what you pay for. Good choice for every course. Waiting staff very polite and professional
Lovely afternoon tea at The Ivy! Staff were lovely, helpful and gave us just the right amount of attention. The food was delicious and plenty of it, with unlimited tea on offer. A really enjoyable experience!
Yes I would lunch menus good value and service especially our waitress was great. Generally all staff are friendly and very accommodating .
A nice restaurant in the centre of Glasgow, food was good but the tables are quite close together.
The staff were very friendly on arrival and during the meal. The food was good but a bit of a let down - vegetables were really hard so it was difficult to cut/eat. My friend got the halloumi dish which was just grilled halloumi on cous cous. They added a 12.5% service charge on to the bill.
Meal, setting and service excellent, only down side was the price of spirits
Very efficient nice surroundings good food
Excellent service. Lovely surroundings. Food lovely apart from having to pay £3.95 for some overcooked chips which I felt should have been included in price of main course of fishcake.
First time at the Ivy and will definitely be back. Food was great and my gin cocktail was amazing! Would definitely recommend.
Excellent experience in every respect. Friendly, helpful reception and serving staff. Timing of serving courses excellent and dishes reliably highly enjoyable. First class ambiance and a fair price overall.
Lovely evening, beautiful surroundings and excellent service
No, I wouldn’t although it’s lovely, and food was nice, it wasn’t any better than other restaurants, Miller and Carter, Grill in the corner and others, but there was a service charge here which although disappointing I can live with that. However drinks at the upstairs bar also carried a service charge, which I have never known before for this reason I would not return.
3rd visit to this restaurant and as always very good food. The staff can’t do enough for you and there’s a good ambience about the place. Would definitely recommend this restaurant .
Main course of 4 x burgers were inedible. Prawn cocktail was tasteless and served in a goblet that was very difficult to eat from. Beers, cocktails, wine and service were all good but the eating element of our visit was sub standard even for a fast food outlet let alone a so called higher class establishment. Will not be back.
Food over priced, but was lovely. I got the steak, and other Glasgow places much nicer. Dessert portions were small, and alcohol super expensive.
Staff were lovely and nicer atmosphere upstairs. Downstairs felt crammed and claustrophobic.
Service was poor. Food was nothing special but had a price tag that didn’t reflect that. Wine was overpriced. Music too loud. Overall I left feeling underwhelmed.
My partner and I visited on Saturday for his birthday. The place was busy, but we were seated at the bar and then shown to our table promptly, staff treat you very well and are attentive. The food was outstanding. The style and decor are beautiful and has a very art deco vibe. I would highly recommend The Ivy for any celebration. Definitely worth it if you're willing to treat yourself.
A nice night but unfortunately the service was a bit slow and our desserts were forgotten.
Lovely restaurant, tranquil surroundings and perfect for a romantic date. Friendly Customer service and the food was amazing
The music upstairs seemed inappropriate to the style associated with the general ethos of The Ivy. Overall food was good and excellent service.
Lovely warm welcome. Got a seat at bar awaiting table and had some drinks.
Cocktails lovely,- we were also pleasantly surprised by food menu selection. Expected not to be such generous portions. Side orders of chunky chips and broccoli were a bit cool however we didn’t want to send back and wait on more so we carried on. Server in restaurant was lovely as were bar staff. The only thing we didn’t understand was 12.5% service charge on our table of 2. Apparently staff don’t see all of this money. Seems like a bit of a rip off...all in all we had a lovely day, food and drinks. Mini birthday cake at the end was a lovely touch. Not sure how there knew it was my birthday but was lovely!
The food and service were outstanding and the venue is stunning. The music level upstairs was just a little too loud though not excessive.
Great food, fabulous atmosphere and the food and bar staff are first class with their pleasant, helpful professional manner. We ate from the market menu which is very reasonably priced for the quality of food which was fabulous. I will definitely visit again. The cocktails are also a must. X
Very pretentious place, over priced and smelled really badly of smoked fish, wouldn’t go back
Lovely day out with my daughters . First time in the ivy in glasgow. Will definitely go back.
