The Ivy Buchanan Street Glasgow
The Ivy Buchanan Street offers residents, businesses and shoppers a relaxed yet sophisticated dining experience.
Welcoming surroundings and atmosphere.Good food, friendly efficient service. Would highly recommend.
The restaurant is beautiful and the service staff attentive however I ordered cote de beuf medium and got a chewy well done steak. They made another one however it was still very chewy and I couldn’t eat it. It’s a shame as I had high expectations.
Great food Lovely settings, Staff very helpful, happy, friendly
We had a lovely table but unfortunately it was in the bright sun. With no blinds it wasn’t comfortable. Staff noticed without being approached and offered us a different table. Which was really appreciated as they were very busy. Food was very nice. Timing was great too. Not too slow and didn’t feel rushed.
This was our first proper restaurant meal since Covid19 outbreak. Friends traveled up from Nottinghamshire to join us. The Ivy in Glasgow is simply first class. From arrival to completion we felt safe and informed. Staff are polite, sociable and knowledgeable about the food. The service was swift, courteous yet discreet. As a group of vegetarians the options were varied and interesting. Ambiance is extremely calm and classy. I have been here before and I will return. If you want a fine dining experience or want to treat a friend or family member then this restaurant must be considered. Highly recommended.
The only premium thing is the price. Front of house woman abrupt and unwelcoming. Drinks service poor (had to get up and find my wine and pour it myself - no top ups by staff). Predictable chain restaurants standard food but premium prices. Frozen chips!! Atmosphere and decor are superb but it’s a lot of money to pay for pedestrian food and mediocre service. It’s a hit with the Insta crowd but it’s not for anyone serious about quality food or skilful cooking.
Thoroughly enjoyed my brunch at the Ivy - food delicious and the perfect portion size. Our server Penny was extremely friendly and attentive- would highly recommend.
Never disappointed when I visit The Ivy and this occasion was no different. Friendly staff, great food and service. Hand sanitiser on each table and at no point did I feel unsafe. I am booked to go back again next week. Highly recommend it!
Toast was sourdough, not granary. Ham hock in the omelette was watery. Poached eggs on unbuttered, dry toast. Drinks were overpriced. Service charge added without any discussion upon presenting the bill. 3 breakfast meals not worth almost £60 - clearly paying for the name rather than quality.
Fantastic birthday brunch, really wonderful waitress penny (the one with the great brows!)
Had a lovely evening with friends at The Ivy. Servers were so friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Food was delicious! Spoiled for choice and was something on the menu for everyone. My friend received a birthday treat as it was mentioned in the booking that we were celebrating a birthday which was a lovely touch. Great vibe about the place. Definitely recommend a visit to The Ivy
Lovely atmosphere, staff were professional and helpful.
Especially our waitress called Penny she was exceptional.
I would definitely return and definitely recommend the experience to my friends and family.
Can’t wait to return.
Fantastic drinks, I’m vegan so opted for the Asian salad - for the price the portion was tiny and even though it was delicious it just did not even fill me what so ever. However the service at our table was utterly brilliant. We had the nicest waiter and where sad we couldn’t tip him by card.
Phenomenal experience from start to finish.
Quite varied menu, some things very expensive. We had scallops to start, £11 for 3 very small scallops. Mains slightly better value. Peruvian chicken and Keralan fish curry both very good. Rum baba to finish was lovely but again expensive.
Service was impeccable, our only issue was that there was a hefty £11 added to our £80 bill. We did pay this but then discovered that the staff didn’t get this money so we were a bit cross about this as it wasn’t clear and had we known we would have asked for it to be removed and left cash for our server.
Food always of a very good standard and portion sizes just right.
Staff couldn’t be more helpful.
Asked to move table to a preferred table at the window and the waiter couldn’t be more obliging.
A thoroughly enjoyable evening.
The service and food here was really good. It’s a place to be seen and lots of patrons wanted to be seen! We were there for a romantic meal and all conversation could be overheard as the tables are quite close to each other. We sat downstairs and missed a trick by not asking for a table upstairs. Rest rooms are lovely.
Waited over twenty minutes before any service was offered
Staff taking temperatures and and showing to table we’re not wearing masks
Totally enjoyed my set menu. First time being here will be back. Maybe another couple dishes in the set menu would be nice
What a lovely restaurant for dinner.
Had cocktails at the bar first before going upstairs for food. Food, service and staff were all excellent. After dinner we sat at the bar upstairs for drinks.
Staff could not do enough for us
I would highly recommend the ivy. We will be back 🙂
Service slower than usual especially at the entrance. However the food was first class!
Scallops starter, arborio truffle balls, prawn cocktail all good. Cheese souffle not up to par sadly. Very egg-whitey & not remotely cheesy or tasty enough. Curries great, minute steak in peppercorn sauce good. Puddings very good including chocolate and butterscotch bombe, frozen berries, sorbet and hot white chocolate sauce. Cocktails all excellent, as was the service and attention to detail by the staff. Would return as overall great experience and reasonable value.
The Ivy is a well established up market chain of restaurants and the Glasgow one does not disappoint. Attentive service and excellent food.
First visit to the Ivy. Met with two friends and had a great lunch. Service impeccable. Waiter knew the menu and made some recommendations. Would have liked a bit longer at the table but understandable in the current times.
Will be back sooner rather than later.
Lovely lunch reuniting with old friends. Our waiter, Joe, is a great representative of your restaurant as service was excellent! We will definitely be back.
Very good. Great food and atmosphere
Fantastic setting and food. Service was excellent. This was our second visit and we will be back.
Great service, nice food, lovely ambience… only complaint music a bit too loud.
Great food and decor! Service was incredible 😁
Fantastic food and service, we will be back. Thank you for a wonderful Minimoon meal
Food great & the Ivy team were amazing. It was a special night for us and the personal touches were second to none.
The food was delicious and portions very generous, my daughter being a fussy vegetarian couldn’t decide what to order as there was so much to choose from! She will definitely be back as her dishes had so much flavour and her words “best mash she has ever tasted” drinks are a little on the expensive side but generally a fabulous experience
First visit and impressed by ambience and set up. We had to wait a wee while for drinks initially but service caught up thereafter and was efficient and unobtrusive. Food was very good and prices were reasonable. Will return.
None of our pre visit requests were carried out and the girl who took us to our first table wasnt interested in helping us. Wasnt until our waitress took over that our requests were sorted. After that the visit was wonderful
First visit and lovely surroundings . Slightly disappointed with salt condiment had no salt in it and when we opened it up a green tarnish of some sort all round the top. Would have thought that should be checked regularly but staff member apologised and presented another ..everything else very good
Excellent food and service. Lovely atmosphere. Beautiful place. This was my second visit and I would definitely come back again.
Was so refreshing to find a restaurant that still has linen tablecloths, and silver service!
Alison our waitress was superb! 10/10
Excellent menu , service and brilliantly presented.
The whole night was brilliant and looking forward to returning in the near future
