The Ivy Cafe Blackheath
Good meal as usual.
Only downside was the Creme brûlée.
Not set, seemed like it had split/curdled. Sugar top also no crunch just soft.
Shane but rest of meal was great.
Great vegetarian choice also
Had a really enjoyable afternoon. Food was very good as was the service. Will be back after lockdown.
Always appetising food choices and attentive excellent service
It was a birthday celebration for me with my daughter
Our table was booked for 1 30
Unfortunately the traffic was horrendous on Wednesday and it took us ages to get to Blackheath
I telephoned to say we were on way but would be late
On arriving 20 minutes late we were told we only had one hour and ten minutes to eat our meal. This completely spoilt our lunch as felt pressurised no time for starters or coffee
There was no one waiting for our table and suggest you allocate longer for people to enjoy their meal
It was very disappointing and we will not be back
Wonderful meal for my sons birthday. Staff amazing so friendly and fun for my sons 17 th. Had to go early due to lockdown but so glad we did. All ordered different meals each were stunning.
Highly recommend for a special occasion
Great food and service.... Would visit again. A little time limited.
When we first arrived the service was great. We were seated quickly in a nice quiet corner. After a few minutes someone came over to "remind us" we only have the table for 1.5 hours, which I should have noticed on the booking and did not. We then sat there for 10 minutes until they finally came over to take our drinks (!) order. 15 minutes into our reservation and our drinks order was asked for. We obviously ordered our food at the same time as we had no idea when we would otherwise have this taken. We ordered bread and the prawn and calamari dish for starters. The prawn and calamari was delicious. That gets a 5 star although the portion was quite small. The bread on the other hand... super hard and chewy. It was served warm but that was about all it has going for it. My husband ordered the rib eye and I ordered the chicken salad. He said the rib eye was "alright". For £32.50 for just the steak and no sides alright is not great. The chicken salad was okay. The chicken was moist and delicious the radicchio was extra bitter and the watermelon did not taste particularly fresh. We both ordered a side of chips. His came with his meal. Mine came 5 minutes later after we asked where they were.... My husband then ordered desert chocolate bomb. And I ordered a glass of port. The desert arrived and my port arrived 20 minutes after ordering it. By the time I got my port we were on verge of asking for the bill as it was 5 minutes until we had to give our table back. I had to basically chug my port, not quite the desert I had been hoping for. All in all the food was not bad, but it wasn't good either. When you are spending £130 on a meal for two I expect good. And the service was a bit not there. I get the waiter was busy, but still not good enough. Would we go back again? Probably. I have had both better service and better food from them in the past. I wouldn't let this be the reason I stopped going.
The lighting was very poor - unable to read menus. Table lamps nedd to be installed.
Also felt rushed out at the end. Table turn around better for 2 hrs.
But enjoyed it very much was for 50th birthday and was lovely.
Beautiful decor, amazing food, great service. They did a good job with the social distancing measures. There was a temperature check at the door and hand sanitizer was provided at the door and on the tables.
I will be going back asap !!!!
Yes very nice thank you. Like the ivys this one a pretty good one. Would hi again when in Blackheath.
Fine dining, professional service and very tasty food. What else do you need?
Just loved it, a real treat before MKII lockdown, Shepard's pie lived up to the hype, as did the lobster linguine,
Lovely, best of luck for lockdown 2.
We really enjoyed our lunch. It was our first visit, and would definitely book again.
We had the shepherds pie, which had been recommended and it was delicious.
The atmosphere was cosy and the staff very pleasant.
Great food great cocktails and ivy house champagne is great
Wonderful food both in taste and presentation, attentive and friendly staff, beautiful decor. Overall experience was first class.
We often book this restaurant, staff are always very helpful and accomadating and also very friendly, the ambience is always nice and always look forward to eating here. Nothing is too much trouble for them, cant wait to go again
Friendly, staff, efficient service and lovely food. Nice relaxed atmosphere
This is was my second visit and will not be my last. Great food, service and ambiance what more can one want.
Lovely breakfast, staff were attentive and food is really fresh
The food and ambience is good. A bit rushed but the fault of the 10pm closure not the restaurant.
RUBBISH RUBBISH RUBBISH RUBBISH RUBBISH RUBBISH RUBBISH
A great venue and meal for a birthday celebration.
Covid restrictions adheard to, temperature taken on arrival, hand sanitizers on tables, asked to wear masks when not seated at table.
Great waiter service, good food, fantastic cocktails.
Loved it, great way to end a challenging week. x
Nice and relaxing environment
Very good food, and table was in a good position. While social distancing was good between tables, we were close to the bar, and we felt that there was less distance between us and a couple at the bar. Apart from that we had a really good evening and will be back as soon as we can.
Had a lovely time, celebrating our anniversary.
Food was good value and service was also good
Slightly more expensive than local restaurants but worth it for the vibe and service, food is good too
The Ivy is all about experience and quality. The food is a given, exceptional but the style in which it is delivered to the table tops it off
We went there for our anniversary and had such a lovely time. Our waiter was called Christian and he was amazing, really looked after us. The food was delicious. We had a great time.
First time at Blackheath and was just as lovely as my favourite Soho.
Ironically, as someone who lives in Blackheath and has frequented the original Ivy on Covent Garden on a number of occasions, this was my first visit to the The Ivy Cafe Blackheath.
The restaurant exceeded my expectations and I would certainly return.
I feel the original restaurant has lost its way and is very touristy. The Ivy Cafe Blackheath is a much more enjoyable experience. The design and layout of the restaurant is beautiful with a strong eye for detail - it is a very comfortable and relaxing place for dinner.
I found the menu excellent value, broadly on a par with local pubs and restaurants that have lower standards elsewhere. The cocktails were also great value and very well prepared. It was good to see some of the tradition Ivy desserts on the menu and great that the small touched (Calvados Flambe and melted chocolate bombe) have been kept.
The service was very friendly, my only point would be is that it could be slightly more attentive so that you didn't need to catch the waiters eye to order another drink.
The restaurant is clearly taking Covid-19 restrictions very seriously however the additional spacing between tables and screens did not dampen the ambience, if anything they gave us a bit more space.
Very happy and will return.
Food - great, selection of wine - superb, service - attentive and not intrusive, atmosphere - relaxing! What more do you need from a great restaurant?! Definitely coming back soon!
It’s always a treat and the staff always treat you well
Frozen cod, food was poor. Not restaurant standard
Had the delicious salmon fish cake.
Frozen berry’s and white chocolate for dessert.
Had a great evening here. Everything was perfect.
Such a wonderful experience, this lovely 'Cafe' is simply perfect for any occasion. The staff greet you in a courteous and friendly manner and nothing is too much trouble for these lovely employees who work extremely hard - the food was superb and the ambience first class - I cannot wait to experience this lovely Cafe Restaurant again and again.
Always a pleasure. Fabulous service, impressive food - and a great kids menu too.
It was, as always, amazing. I love this specific Ivy, it's a lovely space and the food is always consistently good.
