The Ivy Cafe Richmond
Beautifully located near the river Thames and a few moments from Richmond Park, the restaurant features a private dining room and a bar, offering relaxed yet sophisticated dining.
Staff are very polite and attentive. Lovely setting and food is very good but not amazing. Have been with family and children and just with my partner and always a good experience. Would recommend.
During this ongoing pandemic, this place still has its qualities. The service was class and the safety of customers was priority. The food was delicious and the staff are amazing and attention to details.
At our table there was not enough lighting. My partner could not read his menu and we both could not see our food clearly when it arrived.
Loved the food and the decoration! This restaurant became one of my favs !
Very tasty burger. Lovely drinks. Great atmosphere.
Service was a bit slow and pricing quite expensive but overall I would recommend
Excellent service, very COVID secure & delicious food. Will most certainly be back again.
Enjoyable evening. Long delay between courses.
As usual food very good as was the service. Ambiance relaxing.
Fantastic restaurant. Great menu. Prawn cocktail was a little unremarkable but everything else was fantastic. Not rushed by the staff. Great lunch!
A lovely restaurant with a chilled atmosphere, friendly staff and great food.
We had a very nice lunch here and at a very reasonable price.
We went for breakfast after my nephew's very small wedding. The staff were fabulous and made the bride and groom, and us, very special. Champagne was delightful and coffee just right. Everyone else choose a savoury breakfast and were very happy. I ordered pancakes. They were dry and very plain. The strawberry sauce really didn't work. It needed a hot berry compot, or dare I say, Maple syrup.
Waiter was friendly but also impeccable manners befitting the occasion and the venue.
Next time I'll order the smoked salmon crumpets.
A very disappointing meal. The avocado was overripe, duck rather dry and a very mediocre steak.
We did not order a desert.
It occurred to us that the meals had been pre-prepared and just warmed up. The meal ended up being rather expensive and we were charged for bottled water that we did not order. In fairness, when this was pointed out it was taken off the bill.
I have been enjoying the various Ivy restaurants around London for several months. Each is quite unique. Although I will always love THE IVY, the Chelsea, Wimbledon and Richmond venues have all been welcoming and enjoyable. All lunches and the food is delicious. Carpaccio of Tuna and a Steak is my usual. The Duck Salad as a starter also very tasty. Plus shared the Chocolate Bombe with a friend - amazing to watch and eat!
Beautiful setting with excellent food and service.
Wooden and slow service . It was clear that this restaurant was not following Covid guidelines of only one household dining together
We've eaten here several times and have always had good service and good food, but this time it was a bit of a disappointment. The starters were all very good, but the mains were average to bad. The fillet of sole was almost inedible, drowned in butter and full of bones. It was virtually impossible to eat. The sides were lacking in flavor too.
The best part of the meal was the desert.
I will return and hopefully the chef will be up to his/her usual standard. Still love the decor of this Richmond Ivy.
I celebrated my birthday with my friend and had a great time. Everything from delicious food, ambience to impecable friendly service. The restaurant is very spacious and beautiful decor, high ceilings and tables spread evenly so felt very secure reg. Covid so would highly recommend. Thank you so much
Have eaten here many times and it’s always excellent, the cheese soufflé is to die for, I would have given 5stars for the food but while our shepherds pies were delicious they were not served hot
That truffle burger was, without a shadow of doubt. In my top 5 burgers ever.
Just lovely as ever liked the marmite crumpet and the eggs were delicious, only minor criticism is that the ham hock was very salty. The omelette was incredible
Great venue and ambience. Food excellent if on the pricey side for what we had - I had the Ivy burger, and a tiramisu for desert. Delicious blood orange gin cocktail. Just let down by the fact we had to wait 10-15 minutes for our table, which was disappointing as with the 10pm closure meant we only actually had an hour and 15 minutes at our table. We’d just got our main when they asked us to order desert and we’d barely finished before we were ushered to pay and leave. With such strict timing required because of early closure the previous diners should have been asked to leave so we could sit down at our booked time.
This was our second visit. However 1st since the pandemic. We had booked for 8:30pm. We arrived 10mins early & were turned away as no room at the bar. Returned 10mins later. Guests also waiting for their table which made social distancing difficult. Our temperatures were taken and we were shown to our table. Food was lovely. Ordered the truffle burger with shoestring chips, enough chips for 3! Along with the chicken milanese. Enjoyed our evening. However felt rushed, which I would not expect from 5* service. Found attention to detail was lacking slightly, which was a slight shame & the lighting was too low. At the end of the evening the lights went up full beam & we saw the waiters hurriedly cleaning away tables.
Food wasn’t at a level I expected. Sisters birthday wasn’t how I wanted it to be. Felt very average.
Ate from the set choice menu, delicious duck. Nice atmosphere
Reliable, safe, great service and lively design
The Covid checks were really good here which made the restaurant more comfortable. The staff were really attentive although it was a bit rushed due to the govt 10pm deadline. The best drink is the New York Sour (hands down!!). The Milanese was ok - chips were lovely. Dessert was a choc bomb with salted caramel which was so sinful but totally worth it. Would definitely be back. Thanks to all the people who took care of us at the Ivy.
One of my favourite restaurants in the locality, but the menu does not seem to have been refreshed for a long time. I shall be giving it a miss for a while.
Overall excellent. Great and interesting menu. Properly cooked and well presented. Friendly and efficient staff, without being intrusive. I felt very confident about the Covid measures. The hand sanitizer on each table is a nice touch. Always a good restaurant whose response to the challenging time’s appears outstanding!
Lovely food. Great service. Such a nice setting. Well worth a visit. Lunch set menu REALLY good value
Health & safety measures were in line with Covid recommendations.
Staff was welcoming and professional.
Decor was great and food was delicious.
I highly recommend the blackened cod
Great ambiance, lovely feel to the room.
The service was very quick.
The food flavours were great - my fish had a few bones in it which I didn't love - instead of sea bream I suggest they use halibut
Nothing was outstanding but it was a really nice lunch. I don't like eating salad in a bowl... it's really hard to cut things up to put in your mouth.
Apart from that all good.
Food was only mediocre, my friend sent her main meal of steak back as it was so tough, she wasn’t able to chew it!
I would try the restaurant again, in case it was a one off.
Went to the Ivy for a friends birthday brunch. It was everything we hoped it would be. Thank you!
Had a great celebratory breakfast/ brunch. Excellent service and staff and food. Eggs benedict and avocado/pom with eggs were superb!
Thank you so much! We had a lovely evening, staff was polite and very kind and they helped me with my allergies! Food was amazing and the place is very elegant and romantic.
Lovely evening with excellent food and service. We were initially seated at a table which appeared to be in a corridor just to the side of the disabled toilet. We asked to be moved which was no,problem.
Love this place for a date night with my wife. A lot of energy and always busy giving a wonderful ambience. Great food and service too of course.
