Food is very good in most occasions but on some not very
Poor service and in-attentive staff over a shift change led to free coffee and deserts. Great food and atmosphere
This was our first visit and won’t be the last. Fish n chips were gorgeous. Great service highly recommended
Love this place! Have been for breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner and it never disappoints!
We all enjoyed our meal. Varied dishes and good service.
Could do with a few more seats at the bar while waited for our table to be ready but other than that everything 5☆
Nice food but a bit noisy. We had a really comfy seat on the settee which was lovely. Food is generous but quite pricey.
I love the ivy! Just a pity the lady on the reservations telephone line was so rude when i rang to reduce our table numbers!!!!!!
The Ivy Cafe is a huge asset to the area. I live in Ealing and although we have dozens of restaurants nothing really compares. The atmosphere that has been created echos the original Ivy but makes the experience far more accessible. Menu is excellent including the Special Daily Menu and a good wine list with some very reasonably priced wines along with more expensive ones for special occasions. I have become a great fan of the Ivy Royale cocktail.
A few days before my visit to the Richmond Ivy I went with my wife to the Ivy Cafe next to the Bridge Theatre by Tower Bridge. We had an excellent meal there but it was slightly marred by the constant stream of waiters carrying dirty plates etc in plastic bowls right past our table - something which I am pleased to say does NOT happen in Richmond.
I've been three times and have always found the food, service and ambience first class. Not cheap, but good value for money.
A lovely evening with friends celebrating a birthday. Nice atmosphere, good food and cocktails. Staff were attentative and very helpful. Would definitely recommend.
Was rather noisy as we two friends were seated (closely) next to a large table of young women. Our window table seemed too close to the large one and we felt invaded by the others coming in and talking loudly. And we were not pressured to order early but were pressured to finish our meal at 7.30 as the next booking was ready. Could have been better handled.
Great place, food was v nice, waitress was good.however, we were asked to vacate table after 2 hrs due to the other booking. Manager was v nice and apologetic and offered a desert on a house. Overall good experience
Great ambiance and service. Had been told food was ‘amazing’ but main course was disappointing - vegetables cold and had to be sent back. Handled well by staff and not charged for. Cocktail tasted virtually alcohol free! Companion likewise disappointed in her main course.
Noise level increased rapidly so private conversation not easy.
May have hit a ‘bad chef day’ and think they could do better so will give it another go.
The food was delicious! Great service, friendly staff, gorgeous décor! I can't wait for my next visit!
We had a very pleasant day out to Richmond via river boat. Lunch at The Ivy Cafe rounded it off perfectly! Can not fault the service and attention to detail. Our second visit to an Ivy cafe. We are keen to try others. Well done to all. You have got it exactly right !
Excellent in every way. The food was delicious (the lamb shoulder was exceptional), service was good and the setting was beautiful.
We were concerned to see duck liver pate/parfait on the menu. Reading about this, it seems it is the same as foie gras, which is goose liver when geese are forced fed. Could you let us know if this is using the same technique please - force feeding. Thankyou
My only problem was changing the booking from 3 to 4 people through open table which seemed to be impossible. The Ivy said it would be better to ring them direct to do that
Enjoyed my time there for Afternoon tea
Service was good. Food selection especially sandwiches was limited. I was not asked if I was allergic or did not want some of the sandwiches available
Also they did not tell us they would charge extra for replenishing sandwiches
Have been many times - very consistent with good quality ingredients- excellent service and good ambiance. If going to be picky they could install some noise cancelling equipment as certain table locations makes it difficult for conversation. That being said great atmosphere and always a treat.
very reasonable afternoon tea, nice atmosphere and drinks
Excellent decor related to Richmond. Very good service from hostesses and waiter/waitresses.
This was a birthday treat for my son in law. His meal arrived after the rest of the party and we were given his meal free of charge. As the morning progressed the service became more haphazard and I had to ask to have the table cleared so we could have coffee. The staff are in general friendly but it seemed that once tne meal was served we were ignored. I will go again as I like the ambience but I think the staff need a bit more training to bring the service up to standard.
Been to many Ivy locations around the world and they're always a reliable experience in terms of food and ambiance. I believe the Richmond location is new so there were a few teething problems in terms of the timings of the service but I'm sure it will be a well oiled machine in no time (couldn't fault the friendliness though!). Had the afternoon tea and will definitely return for a proper meal!
Had a lovely meal. Felt a little time pressured to order each course. Service was excellent but rather formal for a lunch. Ordered tuna carpaccio which was outstanding, also ordered Halloumi and crushed avocado. This was good but VERY salty. The black olives added to the saltiness too.
Had lunch with family and our baby, staff were very accommodating and friendly. Excellent menu with ease of catering for lactose intolerance. Stunning decor! Overall a great restaurant, we look forward to going back soon!
Food was good, waiter was very nice but we had to wait ages for our drinks, then they got dropped. We were comped so, we were pleased. Not as attentive as I hoped for calliber of restaurant but will still go back.
Great service. Right balance of attentive but not invasive.
It was my second visit with family and the service and food is outstanding.
My preferred eaterie in Richmond as it’s good value and a very attractively decorated restaurant with a lively buzz. I tried pollock for the first time which was good and really enjoyed the piquant saucewhich accompanied it
Lovely food , quite noisy ! Service very good and good selection of drinks! .
I've been to the Ivy restaurants in Harrogate, Tower Bridge & Kings Road & this is the best by far. Excellent service, everything on the menu was available & the food came at the right time & we weren't rushed. I'd definitely recommend.
Pleasantly surprised. Bit noisy for quiet conversation but good atmosphere, service and food was tasty and interesting.
Creative menu with price options - food was good. The restaurant is noisy not really suitable for a quiet evening but great fun and buzzy. Staff nice too. I have visited twice and both have been good.
Lovely spot in Richmond. Good for a special occasion or a smart meal out. Pleasant and welcoming service. Food was good. Exactly what you would expect from this chain.
Amazing food, was very tasty! Outstanding and friendly service by all staff making you feel very welcomed!
Great restaurant, great cocktails and friendly staff.
Incredible experience since minute walked in the door. Our waiter was lovely. Very attentive and always smiling. The food was perfection. Delicious and value for money. Will definately be returning as there was loads more things I would like to try. Treated like royalty.
Celebrated my husband's birthday with the children & it was lovely.
Nice touch having a birthday cake & singing at the end of the meal.
