We really enjoyed our meal at The Ivy. The food was delicious, the service was very good, there was a pleasant, lively atmosphere and the decor is really appealing. Only one grumble; the price of wine by the glass is extortionate! I had two modest glasses of Sauvignon Blanc - it turned out that they were £17 each.

This is a lovely venue and the staff are very polite however service was slow, we waited for ages to be asked if we wanted to drink so much so we gave the food order at the same time. Drinks were then slow arriving as they turned up with our starters. It was a shame as this was a birthday meal. Food was very good all round and would go again.

    - ordered the steak medium rare from the Father’s Day menu and it was tough, struggling to cut through the steak knife. Had to leave it. Staff didn’t question if everything was ok. Truffle Chips were nice though. - The staff weren’t friendly or attentive. They also tried to charge us £21 extra for 2x crème brûlée even though it was included in the Father’s Day menu. Had to request for it to be taken off - food took long time to arrive. By the time our kids ate their food we were still waiting for our mains to arrive. - paid £200 but glad we had £100 credit from Amex otherwise it definitely wasn’t worth the price with much better restaurants around.

I recently visited The Ivy with high hopes, given its long-standing reputation for quality and elegance. Sadly, the experience fell far short of expectations. While the food was passable—nothing particularly memorable but not bad—the service really let the morning breakfast down. We ordered dishes that simply never arrived, and when we enquired, there was little urgency or apology. Drinks were also an issue: some were undrinkable due to being to sweet or the coffee was to strong even though we asked for one shot. It felt like the restaurant was coasting on its name rather than living up to the standard it once set. The prestige of “The Ivy” seems to have turned into more of a gimmick than a guarantee. A real shame, as I expected far better. Wouldn’t rush back.

Booked a meal for a celebration as my daughter and her partner have just got engaged. Upon arriving for our 8pm booking just after 8 we were advised that the table wasn’t ready and would be 20 minutes. We were offered a seat at one of the outside tables as there was no room inside. As it was getting cold we declined the offer. We opted to go for a drink elsewhere and returned at 8:30 - £44 worse off as we had to buy drinks elsewhere and rush them. Front of house acknowledged the occasion but she was only one for whole of the visit who did. We weren’t expecting anything but if you’re spending £80 a head maybe it would have been a nice touch to at least acknowledge it once we were seated. We didn’t place our food order until gone 9pm so over an hour after our booking time. I had to get the attention of a member of staff and ask if we could place our order. He looked a little put out by this. The food was of a good standard although I would point out my wife had the same dish at The Ivy Canary Wharf last week which was a significantly larger portion. Whilst we enjoy a lively atmosphere our table was positioned against a wall through which you could hear loud music from a karaoke/nightclub. Overall the whole experience regrettably didn’t live up to our expectations for such a special occasion.

As usual a busy, colourful room with excellent food and good service. Younger staff can only just cope with the demand but waits are worthwhile.

Quality of the food was superb, the service was excellent however, I thought that seeing as the prices were about 15% higher than most places locally, portions were very meagre, big bowls with just enough to cover the bottom, and the smallest cod I have ever been served, the place was buzzing, and very noisy I had trouble hearing the conversation at the table. Overall enjoyed the evening but disappointed with the quantity. Cannot fault the staff or the service.
