Excellent service and delicious food. The Ivy gin was an excellent way to start the evening.

My friend and I took our respective mothers to the Ivy Wimbledon, for Afternoon Tea to celebrate one’s 83rd birthday and other’s 80th.
My mother and I have been to quite a few establishments specifically for Afternoon Tea and therefore our expectations and standards are quite high.
Afternoon Tea was presentable however, in comparison to other places we have been to there was not a wide range Saviouries/Sweet items.
On the whole it was a pleasant experience. Our server was attentive in ensuring our requirements were met and made us all feel relaxed and comfortable. The Restaurant is beautifully decorated with just the right ambience.
We would recommend the Ivy for Afternoon Tea.

First visit and very impressed.
Nice atmosphere and excellent food.
Good value although a bigger selection of wines could be more affordable.

Went to the Ivy for lunch and the experience was poor. We ate in the rear section of the restaurant and couldn't hear each other talk - the noise was deafening. The restaurant needs to invest in sound reducing equipment.
The decor is pleasant, the service is fine but rushed, and the food is nothing special. We had the set menu and my risotto lacked body and content. I get a sense of 'the Emperors new clothes', once the attraction of eating at 'The Ivy' has worn off it will be rated against all the other high street chains and marked more realistically.
Honestly - I've eaten much better food elsewhere and for much better better value. In the long term, the small independent restaurants have nothing to fear. Would I recommend 'The Ivy'? - no; would I re-visit? - no. We left in a hurry and found a lovely cafe where we enjoyed our desert, coffee and conversation.

The Ivy Cafe Wimbledon continues to do everything just right from discrete, efficient service to delicious food which is always beautifully fresh and well prepared. One of my favourite local restaurants.

Front of house seemed distracted and spent lots of time talking with one another, rather than paying attention to diners. I had to put my hand up several times to get attention (like a child).

The Maitre d' was wonderful, it was a surprise Birthday Brunch for My Mother with her daughters. We were treated exceptionally well and were complemented outside, more private and intimate seating for our occasion. The waitress was attentive and conversational, all the courses were delicious and with the Special perfectly cooked 'Grilled sea bass' of the Day, we could not have asked for a better Time.

We went here for my wife's 40th, through no fault of our own we were 10mins late, upon arrival the front of house made the whole party aware that they would want the table back by 9.30, which I thought was a little unnecessary. At the time of booking I was made aware that there was another booking at 9.30 perhaps a quiet word, aside from the party reminding me of that fact would have been better.

Food was average for the price. The tempura prawns were cold and a bit bland.
The blackened cod was very good though, as were the cocktails.
The service was not good though, unfriendly, no warmth and generally made us feel a bit unwelcome.

Lovely food and drinks which were fresh and very tasty.
Terrible waitress with no personality. Had to get up and find someone to pay the bill at the end as we got forgotten. Not the service you’d expect at such a classy restaurant group

Very happy with our lunch last week, apart from some rather loud young ladies on the next table, but I don't think you could do anything about that!

I knew about the Ivy Cafe chains for some time and was a Kings Road regular but I have to say the one in Wimbledon really is a beautiful venue especially with its stunning seasonal flower bed outside but what I didn't expect was the exceptional service and excellent quality of food really making us feel special from the moment we came through the door. Thank you for making two friends catch up turn into a lovely evening.

It was our mother’s birthday but they refused to accept that we wanted to bring our own birthday cup cakes stating it was for health & safety reasons. We did however take them out despite protestations from one of the managers. Clearly the only reason was that they thought we should be eating their desserts - I cannot imagine how a mini cup cake could cause health & safety issues! Would be delighted to know the answer! It can’t be nuts as they offer several dishes with nuts included! Just another nonsense policy at The Ivy!

My first time at an Ivy restaurant. We were very lucky as we had a table at the front of the restaurant. I am not sure I would want to sit in the rear area. The food was very enjoyable. I had the salmon cutlet with asparagus accompanied by the sweet potato which was a good combination. My guest had the fish and chips which she said was very good.

The decor is fabulous and the overall experience very good. A couple of niggles. Nobody offered to take our coats; not a huge issue but.. One of our main courses came out several minutes after the others. In the ham starter, there were some inedible chunks of gristle and the batter on the fish was rather too thick for our tastes. The chips were ok, but not perfectly crisp. None of these was serious enough to detract from our enjoyment of lunch, but it does drag the rating down
