Great atmosphere, excellent service given the restaurant had only been opened a few days.
Food was average, good wine list. Would preferred to have had a table in the restaurant side rather than the bar/ bistro side!!!
We have eaten in London Ivy branches so knew something about our choices. Atmosphere good. We were there for brunch and some people next to us were having afternoon tea...felt a bit odd! Reception staff and waiters were very efficient and pleasant.
Surprised that our order for sourdough bread to have with our taster of crispy courgette came as a whole round loaf - a bit overfacing for 2 people especially as I had ordered an eggs benedict dish( tasty) which comes on a bun. My husband's chicken dish was ordinary.
I find the big choice menu quite difficult to choose from. But that is The Ivy way
My husband commented that the espresso coffee was very good and he is very fussy.
We will go again and would recommend to friends but it will not be top of my list to choose in Cambridge
A wonderful lunch time experience with amazing staff and food and atmosphere
Even though the restaurant was busy the service was impeccable! The staff were lovely and the food was great.
The restaurant looks great but to be honest the food was more like a glorified Jamie's Italian. High marks for the bar area and choice along with the overall feel of the place... it's nice and stylish and the waiters/waitresses dress well (hopefully this will encourage people to actually dress up to dine out in Cambridge). Opening week so it's somewhat expected that the service is going to be slow... but if this is going to be the case then don't include 12.5% service on the bill. Meal for 2 slotted in around the 130 pound mark including drinks so to be honest I'd expect a bit more quality and a slightly more creative menu (the competition next door ticks this box). Would also be nice if they service wine by the glass at the table from the bottle rather than just bringing the glass over full.
Had a fantastic meal at the Ivy in Cambridge, I would recommend because if the value for money, the attentive service, the quality of food and drink! It was the best eve out in ages
First impressions were good. Immediate attention and welcome. The restaurant looks glorious, wonderful style, gorgeous retro bar, colourful and the walls adorned with contemporary art.
The service was attentive and friendly but not intrusive. The good was excellent. Looking forward to the next visit.
Eating at the Ivy Club in London is great, rolling out a chain so everyone can eat at the Ivy is a little concerning.
The restaurant in Cambridge has been fitted out beautifully in the Ivy style and the menu has some Ivy classics. The food, we felt was of a higher standard than some of the other Ivy Brasseries we have tried. The staff are all very friendly and welcoming, the manager has moved from another central Cambridge restaurant. On Friday evening lots of tables were being kept empty, lets hope they can maintain the high standards of food and service when full.
Cambridge has desperately needed some mid-range restaurants now it seems we have two next door to each other!
Can the Ivy Club retain its iconic status? Can the chain maintain continuity? I do hope so.
The Ivy Cambridge Brasserie exceeded all my expectations. I have recently experienced two in London, as well as The Ivy restaurant itself. Cambridge did not disappoint. The atmosphere is vibrant and reflected the magnificent decor. The service friendly and efficient. The food and wine superb. I shall look forward to returning at the earliest opportunity.
I can't believe you only opened this week. The food was amazing and the service was great. Lovely atmosphere and the restaurant is decorated so well. We can't wait to come back. Thank you
Food excellent, good atmosphere service needs to be polished.
Great decor, good atmosphere, good food, polite but inattentive service. Needs separate food/wine waiters, our waitress was too busy to do the wine. Fab to have The Ivy in Cambridge and will visit regularly but it does need to get its service sorted out. With its name and these prices, service has to be faultless.
Visited here twice since opening and both times an amazing experience. The service is tip top! The food quick, well presented and tasty. Would highly recommend.
Only opened yesterday but they’ve obviously put a lot of time and effort into making it a perfect dining spot.
Food was amazing, cocktails delicious, ambience, atmosphere and the general buzz around was all great too. There were a couple of small children dining with parents and although this on first appearances may seem a little too upmarket/posh to cater for them the staff were brilliant and they were all made welcome.
Moving from our appetisers to main courses (appetisers were so big we skipped starters) was a little hasty and although our waiter was very attentive and charming he did seem to rush us a little. Being the second day of opening I hope this was nerves and this will settle down soon.
Would still class it as a perfect meal out!
This was the opening night and as relatives of company bosses we were treated like VIPs and given a fantastic table. As a former hospitality professional I am super critical but was very impressed overall. It’s a beautiful room. In spite of clearly giving themselves a very easy run by keeping a lot of tables open, the staff were clearly stretched.
Overall very good.
We ate on the opening evening and had a very enjoyable meal. Decor good, nice layout and good buzz around the restaurant. The food was fresh, well prepared and good portion size.
The staff were very friendly and attentive. The food was delicious! Booked to come again with friends!
Fantastic new restaurant just what Cambridge needed. Love the decor, food was excellent and really good value for the quality, great menu choices, will definitely keep going back.
wonderful ambience at The Ivy, and having experienced the London Restaurant, was suitably impressed with what has been provided in Cambridge. *
The food is not of the same standard as the Ivy chain in London.
Beautiful restaurant and really good service! The zucchini fries and mozzarella starter were incredible. I was disappointed with the lack of vegetarian main options on the menu, and this was limited even further as the butternut squash was not available on the day. The halloumi main was good but think it could have been better if the halloumi was cut up or sliced, rather than in block form. Really hope more veggie options are introduced! The highlight of the meal has to be the chocolate bombe - a must try!
At last a decent restaurant in Cambridge. Service was slow but it was the first day.
