Our waiter was extremely attentive and friendly. We enjoyed the background music. The lighting was lovely and the seating was extremely comfortable. The food and drinks were delicious. We will definitely come again for another special occasion.

The service was ok but very rushed our starters hadn’t been cleared before our mains arrived. My boyfriends steak was stone cold when it arrived. The drinks during the meal were slow as were the condiments. A hefty 12.5% service charge is added as a standard to all tables which personally I hate. When we asked for this to be removed as we wanted to adjust to what we thought was fair (10%) a huge song and dance was made. Our waiter disappeared 3 times and finally came back with a manager who questioned us. The whole thing was very hostile. I have been to two of the London ivys and they are second to none this one unfortunately falls short of their normal exceptional service and food.

Really lovely afternoon, service was top notch (although they said we couldn't have an extra 2 chairs but half the resturant was empty?) Not sure what that was about but we really enjoyed ourselves and would definitely go back.

Excellent lunch at the Ivy. The service was very attentive, and we were particularly grateful to the front of house staff who went out of their way to find us a table near to the front of the restaurant. It really made all of the difference to our experience, and we left very happy with our whole experience.

Took the grandchildren (ages 8 and11) for brunch - we were very well looked after by a group of very pleasant staff. Nothing was too much trouble .
We all enjoyed the experience very much and will be back!

Lovely venue close to King's College Chapel. It was a little noisy but it was Easter Saturday so that's probably to be expected! It also took a while for someone to take our drinks order but the food was great and we had a lovely family dinner.

Really disappointed with this visit. The service was so slow and I had to ask for our plates to be cleared away but the waitress couldn’t actually do it herself and had to tell someone else who then did it. The food was luke warm when it arrived and underwhelming. The menu needs to be changed more frequently as it isn’t inspiring and it feels like the same dishes have been on the menu for a long time. The wine choice is disappointing and so overpriced and our waiter didn’t have a great knowledge on the wines.

The epitome of style over substance. Actually really disappointed with the value. Average wine for £40 a bottle. Tiny shepherds pie (nice) with no accompaniments (and not offered any) for £13.50...6 olives £3.50....i could go on. Very nicely fitted out though and everything delivered in a nice bowl!! Not for me thanks....

I absolutely love it in The Ivy! Food was as good as always. However the service for the second visit now was extremely poor... we couldn’t get the attention of any staff to keep taking drinks orders and when we finally did it took so long for them to arrive, that happened 4 times in one evening.
It won’t put me off going ( yet) as I really enjoy the atmosphere but I feel it would be such a shame if this continues to decline after the service being impeccable since the beginning.

Wonderful first visit for weekday lunch. I really liked the menu and when my chicken salad came it tasted great. The rum baba was also excellent and my friend and I were well, yet discreetly, looked after by our server. Can't wait to go again.

This was the perfect restaurant to celebrate our twin daughter’s 18th birthday. All the staff were extremely attentive and welcoming as soon as we walked in and created a wonderful ambience.
Every dish was full of flavour and perfectly prepared. Thank you for making the evening such a special occasion.

Really enjoyed our first visit to The Ivy. We sat at the bar for cocktails then had a wonderful meal in a romantic corner of the restaurant. Service was very good although not excellent, didn’t pour the wine timely and couldn’t speak English very well. Food and place both great.

I could not rate the Ivy more highly. It was our first visit and we went for lunch to celebrate my parents' Golden Wedding anniversary. From the moment we stepped in the door the service was second to none, we had a lovely table by the window, the food was superb and the whole thing was excellent value for money! Overall a faultless dining experience and we will be back very soon!

Starters were OK. We ordered the two main course specials which turned out to be grilled lamb and grilled tuna. Not very demanding cooking so we felt they were overpriced for the limited amount of culinary effort. The salsa with the tuna was under-spiced.
We will choose more carefully next time.

Unfortunately it was our first visit and I wouldn’t go back again unless the service improved. Our mains where brought when we were finishing our starters when we asked to take them back they didn’t really want to. When our mains where eventually sent out they were two and then another two and lastly my daughters burger which they’d forgotten the chips. We had to ask for more drinks. We were they to celebrate my daughters 18th so we were not very impressed.

We were so disappointed that we didn’t get the wine that we asked for. When the bottle came the waiter said that it was what we ordered but he lied to us as it was French. Apparently it was because they changed the menues without telling the waiter! Rubbish! Just not good enough for the Ivy!

Great ambience/decor,good service, disappointing food, asparagus came with truffle shavings on the top which absolutely didn’t go with the dish, could have had much better fish and chips in a pub, steak was tough and poor quality, wine okay, the bill was £85 a head which was way overpriced, worth £60 absolute max and I have had better meals at £45 a head. Not impressed, won’t be back.

Very slow service and waitresses who ignore you when you try to catch their eye. Also annoyed that restaurant is running a stealth halal policy without telling diners. No pork on the menu and only halal chicken. They should also stop selling alcohol! Would like to know if restaurant chain is owned by Saudis or Sultan of Brunei. Food is otherwise good and competently executed though hugely overpriced
