The Ivy Cambridge Brasserie
Need to book at 19:00?Other great restaurants with availability.
Fabulous dinner. Great food but service was fabulous too !!!
Good starters and main. Desserts ok. Toilets are a bit far. Lively atmosphere and good location.
Very good food but not enough of it. Especially the cottage pie.
Fabulous lunch for my birthday, wonderful service and great ambiance. I had the Kerulan duck curry which was so delicious. Will definitely be going back
Great place for a slightly upmarket lunch. Good food, great service. Recommended for casual meal.
Everything was great.
It was a bit difficult to read the menu in the evening.
Not worth it. Overpriced with bad service. Such a shame not great for a birthday present.
Great location. booked for late 2pm lunch. Parking relatively close by - short walk. Love the cloakroom attention on arrival, so your clobber is taken care of. Asked for a non-banquette table - got it. Food good - main courses could have been warmer - suspect they were left on the pass a little too long - but tasty and well presented.
Service - post main course, we felt a little neglected - plenty of staff, plenty of empty tables, so not busy, but restaurant team too busy talking in groups at their stations and perhaps preparing for the evening service - either way, dessert, coffee and the bill took far longer and my lunch companion missed her train as a consequence. Value - it is The Ivy - £225.00 for 3 course lunch for 2 with glass of champagne, glass of wine each and large bottle of sparkling water. 12.5% service charge automatically added to bill.
A lovely dinner with my teenage son on a cold night. The atmosphere was warm and we both found plenty to enjoy on the menu.
My husband and I enjoyed a lovely lunch here. It was our first time and we will definitely be returning and recommending it to other friends and family. The food was amazing and we very much enjoyed our surroundings.
Very comfortable , buzzy atmosphere Very pleasant / enjoyable
Gift from employer, truly enjoyed the food, service was first class, will be back
Fantastic setting and the tables are well spaced out, took time some times to get a waiter, the starter was very nice, the Italian chicken breast with an egg on was slightly bland, the dessert was very nice but lacked in meringue, okay value pretty much the same as most good restaurants, a good varied menu, so over all I would change my selection and I am sure it will be fives all the way.
Decor beautiful. It’s somewhat noisy but not enough to put me off eating here again. Food was very good. Service a little slow at times. However, I will eat here again.
Lovely atmosphere. Food was not piping hot which was disappointing.
I have eaten here a number of times and I cannot fault it, the staff are welcoming and the food is amazing!
5 of us cramped onto a small table with no room to move let alone eat. Service was slow and inattentive when nothing very special about the experience.
Fabulous service fabulous food the desserts were amazing! Highly recommend for a lovely meal with quality food and drinks
Love the Ivy Brasseries. Have visited several of the London ones, the one in York and the one in Norwich and was therefore our restaurant of choice for our recent visit to Cambridge.
The restaurant was lovely as was our waitresss. However, this is the first time I have left an Ivy restaurant feeling a bit disappointed. There were four of us and we each had three courses. Two diners thoroughly enjoyed all three of their course .. two diners had the scallops which although nice did not think these were value for money, followed by the shepherd's pie which tasted delicious but really was not hot enough. In hindsight we should have returned them both. One diner had the special snowball fight dessert .. this was just so bad on all levels .. presentation it looked like a plate of sick and was completely tasteless it was so bad the four of us could not stop laughing .. so at least it caused some amusement.
Will not stop me visiting the Ivy Brasseries in future and hope my next visit will be up to the usual supberb standards.
Lovely meal in lovely surrounding and our waiter was so friendly.. Very enjoyable.
Only criticism would be is that the main came up as soon as they cleared our starters away.
A little break is needed. Other than that-wonderful
We had the best of evenings. We felt looked after but not rushed. Thank you for the surprise birthday cake for my daughter too. Really called the night. Loved the bar area too.
From entering the restaurant all the staff were efficient and courteous. The table we had at the far end of the restaurant on the banquettes was very well placed for us. I have to say it is very rare to find a restaurant where food and service is first class. If I had to put a negative (please note this is not a complaint) is that we had to wait a little too long for our first drinks and the sauce with the chicken Milanese should have been of a runny consistency.
It was our wedding anniversary and our meal out at your restaurant certainly made it an enjoyable evening and we look forward to a return.
Pre Christmas catch up with friends. Pre booked the reservation online, very smooth service. Great menu, beautiful decor, lovey ambience, and tasty food. All a little dampened by the waiter who came to take payment of our bill, who did not engage with us at all and completed the transaction without uttering a word other than “thank you” at the end.
Very very relaxed time had. Ambience was chilled but busy. Fillet Steak and Shepherds Pie were another level, recommended. Even the Sour Dough Bread was a treat by itself along with the indulgent Butter. Chocolate Bomb and Apple Tart Flambé finished the meal off a treat. Staff are highly efficient and non intrusive. Beautiful surroundings with a scence of privacy and comfort. Will be back without a doubt.
Seating was comfortable, tables not close together(St. Albans had tables too close to each other), waiter attentive and friendly with good timing, tasty well presented food and wine... lovely Saturday lunch with friends.
We had a lovely 'girls' lunch - the service was excellent and the whole experience very enjoyable.
Somewhere a little nicer than the high street chains and perfect for a celebration meal
Very good, we arrived an hour earlier than expected and they had no problem accommodating us. Service was excellent along with the food. My only slight negative is that I am quite tall and we were sat a a table to two and the chairs are quite low, I should of ask to be moved but we were enjoying sitting by the window watching the world go by so that's my fault.
high end lunch or more reasonable brunch - very good. AS ALWAYS the staff make the place what it is and they are very good -attentive, humorous and efficient.
Lovely atmosphere and we were very well looked after, came out with a lovely little cake for birthday which was a nice touch. However I feel like “ordering well” is a must. Overall nice meal
I would definitely recommend this place to a friend, particularly if they will bring me with them! We had a great evening here, the food was very tasty, especially the chocolate bombe dessert.
Great service. Outstanding food and the drinks were great
I would recommend The Ivy, however I would advise them they only have two hours at the table. I was not advised of this and was asked to have coffee in the bar area. The bar area is not particularly comfortable so we decided to not have coffee and leave.
The other thing I would say is that we had left our coats and shopping when we arrived and although they do state they are not responsible for our goods the bags had been damaged as they had been moved and with a lot of the shops using paper bags this was an issue. Especially on Black Friday with lots of shoppers out and about.
Apart from this the service was good if a little too attentive and seems to make you hurry if you allow them. We had booked for 5pm and I understand they would have tables booked after us but there was tables empty so they could have seated these tables first and then we would have been happier.
Lovely ambiance, decor , staff and wonderful food. Marked it 4 star because the lighting is terrible. We needed torches to read the menu, as did other diners. We had to move tables as our table was not lit at all by ceiling spots and is was so dark we could not see our food. The light in the ladies was so low I believe it is a health hazard. The food was incredible, veggie shepherds pie a triumph, tossed Asian salad fabulous as was the jack fruit bang bang salad. Brilliant early evening dinner but please address the lighting issue.
As usual from the welcome to the good bye a wonderful experience. My friend and I had the superb Sheperds Pie and vegetables with a nice Malbec. I had the apple tart for sweet which is one of the best I have experienced in my travels. The restaurant was nearly full at our lunch meeting which made for a great experience.
Lovely restaurant, great atmosphere, mouth watering food
Excellent service frrom greeting through to table service. Always felt looked after and was asked how the meal was straight away. Food quality was excellent. Fresh , hot and well presented.. I had the special fish of the day. The crowning glory is always the chocolate bombe dessert. !!!
We had a wonderful meal at the ivy Cambridge. The best table at the window, food, service, wine, always of a fantastic standard.
Excellent food and service
Exquisite food - understated, cooked with love. Service excellent and not too much, just enough. Would be here every week if I could afford it. Thank you
