The Ivy Cambridge Brasserie
We had a lovely time! Thank you very much for making my Dad’s birthday so special, it really made his day. All the waiting staff were kind, thoughtful, and helpful. We would love to return!
Very good service. Varied menu, the food was excellent. Nice wine. A most pleasant evening
Great decor , Great Vibe , Great Food , Great Service
It was ok. We where a big table, so I would like to go back with a smaller group to see if there is a difference. The atmosphere/ decor is cool giving an upper class feel and staff where polite and friendly. However service was very slow. It took a good hour before our order arrived and some dishes came lukewarm and dry giving the impression that they had been sitting under a warming light waiting for the rest of the food to be ready. Overall I would recommend with caveats
Fantastic service, beautiful decor and food is spot on
Restaurant was out of its specials, premium steak and main offerings. It started off service by giving us a long list of what was not available. Not a great start and then because we commented their staff was excessive in questioning us throughout the meal. We could barely swallow without being asked by 4 different servers if it was okay to the point of ridiculousness. It was a relief to leave. Such a shame because my first experience there was so good and I took family to share something similar. Maybe daytime is better than evening.
Lovely meal shared with friends. Could not fault a thing thank you
Very nice brasserie in the heart of Cambridge. This is a place where you can feel very special and informal at the same time. Restaurant is very nicely decorated with graphics and posters in the 80s style. The service is extremely nice and not intrusive. The selection and quality of cocktails and other drinks is impressive and everyone will find something to their taste on the menu, including vegetarian options, variety of see food and meat-based dishes. Highly recommend this place for any occasion from a friends get-together, romantic date or family celebration to a business meeting.
Always amazing service and food. My only disappointment was that the sauce with the salmon fillet had changed, and none of the staff knew what it had been before! It was a pea puree and it was delicious. I'm not a fan of the room temp cream sauce that's served with it now.
Good place to relax !! For sure i will come back !!! Keep doing what you do!!
Overpriced less than average food , couldn’t even make an authentic aperol spritz ... really spoilt our 48 th Anniversary
There's something not quite right in some of the Ivy branches when it comes to the slick, attentive service you'd expect. Too many staff in red dresses and smart jackets just not picking up on whether the drinks arrive in a timely way (preferably before the food arrives) etc etc. Rather than getting the comforting feeling that someone is on top of the service, the opposite is true in that there is too much avoiding the eye of the customer. And really, when you ask for the bill it should arrive without any further ado. It's not good to observe the waiting staff and others milling about then having to ask again for the bill again. I've experienced exactly the same in the Kings Cross location. The food is good and the atmosphere relaxing so just a bit more focus on the customers at the tables and less on the processes please.
The food and service were excellent. The ambience lovely and the little fresh cream and raspberry bun with a candle to mark my birthday was a lovely subtle discreet and thoughtful touch.
Would definitely go again.Everything about it I enjoyed ,great atmosphere
Not a good visit this time round shame as it was precooked for a birthday treat well early would not recommend for special events celebrations though ok as a casual pop in venue.
A special birthday treat! Everything was impeccable, beautiful, tasty and hugely enjoyable. Look forward to our next visit!
Food and service excellent.
Don't always agree with having the service charged imposed on the bill.
I prefer to decide what service is worthy of
Food was amazing. Really lovely atmosphere and was cozy. It was my boyfriends birthday and they gave him a free cake! Very happy
The Ivy was busy and quite noisy but not a problem for us. Service was very attentive and friendly. Food was very good - we variously had lamb, sole and fishcake all of which were excellent. Our 24yr old son got an individual complementary birthday cake. The Trinity cream and chocolate bombes were also excellent. We will be visiting an Ivy again when we are near to one.
Absolutely 1st class service, from the welcome, bar service, waiters and food was fantastic
Food was wonderful. Service needs a lot of improvement. Used to be excellent but, has gone downhill.
Love to coming to The Ivy, always delicious and great service!
The best fish and chips I have had in a restaurant
Very impressed, great food and service, lovely lunch with friends.
I took my mum for her birthday lunch and we had a lovely time, the staff were excellent and the touch of a birthday cake was so sweet. It's my third time in the Ivy and it did not disappoint.
Good food in a pleasant atmosphere and ambience. Service prompt with minimal wait even though it was quite busy for lunch.
An hour wait between starter and main. The mains had clearly been sat waiting for an age before coming out to us. The waiter apologised for the wait a couple of times, we told him were disappointed with them, but no offer of a drink or something off the bill. Frankly, pretty poor considering the price. We felt we were paying for the decor.
I love dining here. Amazing food and always great service!!
A lively bustling restaurant but the staff are calm and are able to serve everyone. Our tuna starters were delicious & light. My husband then had a great plate of fish & chips & I had the salmon. The only downside were the chips which were not very crisp.
Food rather disappointing as two out of four of the mains on the early evening menu were unavailable. One of our mains came to the table cold in the centre. Very slow service and quite expensive. Overall not a good experience and very unlikely to return. Sure there must be better restaurants in Cambridge.
Busy Valentines night - more full than I have seen before. We were not Valentines and were very pleased at continued good service and acceptable time between courses.
Eveybody enjoying the atmosphere. Great venue in Cambridge.
Lovely meal, as you would expect. Always good service and food
Beautiful food, but as expected very small portions for a very big bill.
Food was outstanding apart from 1 main, chicken dish with Moroccan sauce. The chicken was very dry. We chose not to raise at the time as didn't want to spoil an otherwise wonderful evening and fabulous food, exceptional service.
Superb in every way as usual. The staff were charming and perfectly obliging . Fillet steak as good as it gets outside Scotland.
Highly recommend this restaurant. The food is lovely especially the chocolate bomb. To die for. Lovely place to have lunch before a show at the corn exchange which is what we did
The Ivy is lucky enough to be very fashionable at the moment, the food is very good, but as usual with so many restaurants the price of the drinks are too expensive!
Service was very rushed!
One item on specials was unavailable, shame.
Shepherds pie came on it’s own,no veg.
Pudding selection was dire.
Loved the atmosphere with very helpful and friendly staff. Thoroughly enjoyed the food and drink :)
A delight from start to finish. The service was prompt, effortless and charming. The food was exceptionally good.
