The Ivy Cambridge Brasserie
Another excellent dinner at the Ivy - this time, the lobster linguine was especially great, and the chicken milanese was delicious (as usual - I think I have it every time!). Lovely dinner out, and it felt very safe and relaxed given the circumstances.
Was a birthday celebration for my mother who had never been before. Food was stunning and lovely touch with the little birthday sponge and candle (as don't remember mentioning it was her birthday?).
Our only complaints were my husband initially ordered the crab special which was put through to the kitchen to be told you had run out at lunch. The waitress should have known this, she also asked me if I wanted my main with the starters! as I hadn't ordered a starter of course I wanted to eat my main with everybody else's mains. Our grown sons were then brought their main meals with the starters which wasn't asked for ! we didn't send them back just minor detail that needs ironing out.
Solid reliable bistro food with great ambience, good drinks and good service. Never disappoints.
Great service, food and atmosphere, will definitely return.
Had a great time. Kids meals were very good too and reasonably priced.
The venue is lovley, looks small from the front but is really deep. The food came quickly however we wasn’t rushed which was nice.
FABULOUS. Couldn't fault the food, service or aesthetics
Food was lovely but the service was perfunctory at best and verging on rude at times
We went on Saturday evening and had a lovely meal. However, it did take quite a while to get the drinks, but as it was the first night all the staff had to wear those silly face masks and the coped very well. 5 stars to the young lady who was doing the taxi's orders when we left. She had a real job on but handled it very well.
The only downside to the night, was the 4 'morons' on the table who complained that there steaks were not cooked properly having eaten at least half on them. When they were served with 'freshly cooked' steaks they hardly touched them. They were what I call 'professional 'get a free round of drinks' a...holes.
Staff serving at table very polite. Rushed meal with no time between courses. Told to leave table 1hr 15 minutes after ordering food. Food very greasy. Overall not what I would expect. Inferior to experience in other Ivy restaurants. Will not be returning.
Perfect venue for my friends 60th birthday celebrations. Service, food drink and ambience was all excellent!
Excellent food and fun atmosphere however, there didn't seem to be much social distancing going on and I felt the bar area was too busy. Service was mixed - restaurant manager was excellent and really took the time to speak to us and make us feel special. However, I felt the waiters were not personable and service was often slow and felt ignored. I always enjoy my trips to the Ivy and these comments certainly won't deter me from visiting again but there is certainly room for improvement and I expect more from such a well reputable place with high prices.
Beautiful meal; lovely place, brilliant service and reasonably priced. We both had the steak and it was incredible; one of the best I had tasted and cooked to perfection! Will definitely be returning again soon.
Easy booking, great service & gorgeous food all made it a fantastic dining experience.
Had a lovely evening taking my sister and her husband to The Ivy which they both thoroughly enjoyed and This was their first visit. The food was nice and the staff were very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommend visiting and sampling the food. Have also been there for afternoon tea which was also really nice. ...............................................................
We had a fantastic meal. We've been to a few restaurants since lockdown was lifted and this felt by far the safest!
Really lovely afternoon tea as always. Should highly recommend.
First time to the Ivy,loved it,will definitely be back.
First time visiting to celebrate my parents 50th Wedding Anniversary. Everything was amazing. All staff were friendly, very attentive and polite and couldn’t be more helpful. The food...just wow!! Couldn’t fault any of it. We all had a fabulous time and shall definitely be booking again.
An excellent meal. The usual high standard with attentive, friendly waiters. Our choice of venue in Cambridge.
Extremely limited dairy & egg free options, the waitress offered eggs benedict or eggs royal without the eggs or sauce!
This is an excellent venue for all dining experiences, I rate it highly.
Too many waiters so they could not find our white wine bottle and said it was finished even though only two glasses had been poured. Got settled. The separate red wine served per glass was corked or the bottle had been open too long. Offered new wine, so fine. Otherwise cocktails, nibbles and food excellent and staff very friendly. Great ambience.
Classic food pretty well done. Could have been hotter. Nice atmosphere
Fabulous ambience, very 1920's. Service was fab, very attentive but not overly. Not too fancy a menu and all four of us enjoyed very much, even came up with a surprise for our guess to celebrate their anniversary. And to round it all off, not as expensive as I expected. Very Covid secure.
We really enjoyed our anniversary lunch at The Ivy on Friday, the food was fantastic, our waitresses were attentive and very helpful.
We will highly recommend The Ivy to all our friends, we can’t wait to go again
Extremely enjoyable - well done Ivy
Good experience during covid 19 service excellent, was nice to dine somewhere that felt safe and normal, food excellent quality.
Love the cocktails here! And the food was delicious!
Service was good. Waitress was lovely. Food was not up to standard for the price. Ive definitely had better elsewhere. Nice surroundings but can't say Id be back.
I booked a table for two people. We had intended to have a breakfast or brunch type meal but didn’t realise this was not available. The restaurant opened at 11.30am so it was lunch service only. This was a bit disappointing as we felt it was to early to eat a lunch at this time of the day. We ordered the Cod which was excellent and we couldn’t fault the service. The only other issue we had was that my friend ordered a pot of tea but unfortunately her cup had a lipstick mark on the inside. The waitress exchanged the cup immediately, but this should not have happened in a top class venue such as the Ivy. We did enjoy our meal and the service was first class. I would certainly go back as we have both visited this venue many times before and we were both happy in that we were trying to support the restaurant trade in these uncertain times.
Food was fantastic and staff were lovely
Very Art Deco interior with a good choice of food!
Really great food and service, had a lovely time for my birthday - they even brought me a cake! Only comment was from my mum who thought that the steak wasn't quite medium rare. Had a great time overall.
Perhaps the best restaurants in Cambridge with fantastic food and great service
Excellent food and atmosphere. Service initially a bit slow but improved as the meal went on.
In general good. Service needs to be polished a bit.
The ivy is one of my favourite restaurants right now food is always good and lovely ambiance
We were celebrating a birthday and it was my daughter’s first visit to the Ivy. I wanted it to be special and it was... we had a lovely table with plenty of space around us and a view- it felt like we had left Cambridge and were having dinner somewhere chic in Europe. The service was impeccable and the food perfect - right down to the happy birthday profiiterole. Thankyou for a delightful and memorable evening.
Excellent experience as always. Keep up the good work!
Great service and very tasty food.
Only downside was the atmosphere / noise level due to the family seated next to us.
