The Ivy Cambridge Brasserie
Everything was just ok ... why call it brunch and only have 4 brunch type items on menu? Ordered side of bacon .... received this pretty pathetic microwaved slice of bacon. Service was slow and starters were offered after the main course. A/C was too high, so room was really cold. Drinks took ages. Really disappointing,
Great food, poor service but this was recognised and addressed
Impeccable service! Good food and a nice relaxed atmosphere. Food was great quality and the price was good too! Can't fault it
Excellent ! Wonderful cocktails at the bar, attentive staff, great food, all experienced in lovely ambience - look forward to going again !
Attentive service, delicious meal, beautifully presented and every course had great flavours. Both our mains a little in the cool side but ate it. Pricey so not your weekly eat out but definitely one of my favourites in Cambridge.
Our family of four visited the restaurant to celebrate Father’s Day early and we all really enjoyed the experience. We couldn’t fault anything; the food was extremely tasty, the ambiance was lovely and the service was excellent. It wasn’t our first trip and it won’t be our last.
Food is good but not amazing, service is excellent smart but casual. Ambience is everything. All in all a good package, but I would expect more from my food for the money.
I took my grandson out for lunch; both of us decided on a 3-course menu choice and we felt it was a good combination, although I would have preferred more of a choice. The starter - marinated salmon and cucumber slices - only came with brown toast. There was not option for biscuits or sour dough bread. My fish and chunky chips were ok, nothing to rave about. My grandson's vegetarian dish and his dessert cheese plate were greatly enjoyed by him, whereas my dessert of white chocolate with morsels of raspberries was too rich, and tasted of whipped cream and not a very fresh version of it either. The atmosphere was pleasant enough, the waitress - with a very heavy Spanish accent which was difficult to understand - tried her best and was helpful and attentive to filling our glasses quickly. Despite all this criticism, it was a very pleasant lunch.
An excellent lunchtime catchup with a friend. Food just right, will be dining with you again.
A very nice and quiet ambiance with good food to choose from
Was very impressed by my first experience at The Ivy Cambridge. Warming welcome, staff well presented and friendly and gorgeous interior. Food was amazing, if a bit pricey but you get what you pay for and this certainly was top quality. Great place to have an intimate romantic meal but assume it would be suitable for larger parties too. Would definitely recommend to friends and family.
I went here with my son and elderly mother so 3 generations of diners. My son and I enjoyed our meals, my mother not so much. She could not see the menu (small print) and could not cut her steak very easily. I thought the starter and dessert were better than the mains - I do wish that main courses did not require you to pay for vegetables and potatoes as extras though. Great service and a buzzy atmosphere-just wouldn’t bring my old mother here again!
Delicious food. Expensive for regular visits but lovely for a treat. Staff well trained and friendly. Warm and welcoming interior. Interesting artwork. Lovely lighting.
Fabulous food and the waiters couldn't do enough to make sure we were having a wonderful time. Glad we celebrated there.
From the welcome to the decor, through to the ambiance, high quality food and wine, it was a really pleasurable experience.
Good value for money as well
Will definitely be returning
Loved our first visit to The Ivy Cambridge. had all the unique style of the original restaurant in London and the service was impeccable without being obtrusive. The food itself surpassed our exceptions and portions generous. The salted sourdough was to die for, and the Shepards Pie was fabulously moreish. Cant wait to return to try other dishes on the menu. Now my favourite go-to restaurant in Cambridge. Thank you.
Family lunch to celebrate a birthday. Lovely service and food came at the right time. Nothing to complain about.
Amazing restaurant with staff who are so attentive , our waitress was lovely and food came out super quickly. For how high the standard of food is the price is actually more reasonable than people may think. Would definitely come again.
Delicious food, excellent table service, good value for money, a great experience, a perfect evening.
Fabulous atmosphere, great food and service. A lovely restaurant to meet up with friends!
Even though our table was ready we had to stand at the bar and wait, there was no seats available and it was packed. I also have a tomato allergy, we did inform the waitress but the food came with gravey which had tomato in!
Lovely as always but service was slow today.
Excellent service- delicious food. Good menu. Rather noisy for deaf friend
Visited with my daughter who lives in Cambridge was pleasantly surprised by the relaxed and not so stuffy atmosphere , we were a little early so ofcause had to indulge in a tasty cocktail whist we waited for our table . We had a lovely meal of cottage pie that was delicious , we loved the extra little jug of amazing concentrated style gravey , very tasty , with perfect veg .followed by . beautiful little chocolate truffle balls that melted in your mouth , quite scrummy and when I visit again in a few weeks will be visiting again , cannot wait !
The Ivy Cambridge holds on to the essence of its London parent. It is less intimate but the food, menu and service are all good. Not inexpensive ( the wine starting at a fairly high clip for a bottle), but a good place to go.
A very pleasant experience at the Ivy. The only crisitsm is we were forgotten about after our mains and had to call down a waiter for desserts who had to get someone else to take the order. This toke a while. Food brilliant as always though.
A lovely lunch with my son.
Only criticism would be that the tables sit too close.
I love the decor the music and ambience . Staff are wonderful, professional and attentive but also discrete . Food is generally excellent, although there are occasion bumps and less good dishes. I have had some better food elsewhere, but as a package the Ivy is a great choice. Never rushed so can spend hours in a great atmosphere . The Ivy Tea is delicious , one of the best teas I have tasted.
Such a relaxing evening. Service was great and always with a smile. Stayed much longer then expected as we were so comfortable and enjoying ourselves.
Would never have any hesitation in recommending the Ivy Brasserie to anyone. You feel special from the minute you walk through the door with the staff present to cater for your every need. You are presented with the wine list and menu and given adequate time to peruse over both before being courteously approached by the staff to assist you. The meal continues at your own pace and, in a world where rushing and stress are part and parcel, it is relaxing to be able to sit back and chat and eat delicious food with some special friends.
The food was top class and we had not intended stretching to desert but when two young lovers on the next table were presented with theirs we simply had to follow suit.
The final bill was not cheap but then if you want something particularly nice then you have to pay for it and it was definitely money well spent and a hugely enjoyable evening for all.
Basically, can't wait for my next visit!
My favourite venue in Cambridge, looking forward to returning soon !
Visited with husband, baby and 3yr old and staff were very friendly and helpful. Decor is classy/chic and made a good setting for a celebration meal. Delicious food in good portion sizes and staff were very attentive to our needs. Live Jazz on wednesday evenings make the occasion all the more special. Wonderful place that I would not hesitate to revisit and would highly recommend.
As always, very friendly and attentive. There is nothing hurried in the service, but it is precise and no one is kept waiting. The food presentation is a high standard, and satisfies a good appetite.
Very efficient service and friendly and very good tasty food.
We had a fantastic time at the Ivy for afternoon tea. Our server was training, but was faultless- very friendly and professional. The teas, champagne, and food were all delicious- especially the Earl Grey and the scones!
We only had a few small ‘complaints’ (and I say complaints in the lightest terms!) The silver teapots were beautiful, but could have done with some small towels for the handles, as the handles were extremely hot when pouring. When leaving, we paid in cash, and the server (not the lovely lady who was training), handed me my change back into my hand rather than back onto the table on a tray or in the receipt card which was really awkward. When we went to go out through the inner doors, we opened the door ourselves despite two young male servers standing right inside the doors. Lastly, as we were leaving through the outer doors, we noticed that a customer had been allowed to put their shopping bags on the platform in the window display, meaning they could all be seen from the window outside.
As I said, only very small complaints, but the difference between 4 and 5 star service!
Great food and service was ok. We obviously had a new joiner who was new to the role, so not as slick as I would have expected.
Some thought could be given to staff walking through the restaurant with bags of rubbish as it doesn’t make for a good dining experience.
Already been recommending to my clients , food and service was excellent
Mediocre food , atmosphere and service.
Unfortunately the resounding welcome we received on entrance was the highlight of the evening. Why people (sheep) flock to this place is far beyond me when one could go to an independent restaurant, get far better quality food, a more personalised service and have a better experience. Do away with these chains that charge far to much for food that you can cook yourself or get at a local pub!
Always enjoy our time here! Menu choice, food, atmosphere and service are always excellent. highly recommend to anyone who wants a great night out.
