The Ivy Cambridge Brasserie
Lovely service superb
As always, great food, service and environment. One of my favourite places to dine.
Gorgeous decor, pleasant staff, delicious flavours, good menu, acceptable wines. Service and kitchen slow. London prices and aspirations without the efficiency but understandable in a backwater like Cambridge.
Food and service excellent as usual. However the tables are very small and close together. The restaurant is also very noisy with a large party going on.
Excellent meal with girl friends. Great food with good & friendly service. My favourite lunch place.
We enjoyed a lovely evening in The Ivy Cambridge. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and gives the impression of vintage with a contemporary twist. This makes for comfortable but elegant dining.
The food was really nice with a varied selection and well presented as was the very tasty gin and tonic I had! The service was attentive and we were not kept waiting at all - although the place was not full to capacity which may reflect the fact the food came too quickly at times. This is the only critiscm we had though and wouldn't put us off going again in the future.
It was my birthday celebration. Food was excellent, surpassed only be the superb service by Yannis. He was entertaining, helpful and efficient.
Not our first visit and wont be our last. It was a busy Saturday evening, but there were plenty of staff who were attentive and helpful. Food was good - Monkfish Curry excellent!
Excellent meal, great service and lovely atmosphere. Definitely one to go back to!
A firm favorite in Cambridge...
This was my third visit to The Ivy in Cambridge and it's definitely at the top of my location list for lunch with the girls. Great service, food and ambiance. As he said "I'll be back!"
All good, food was excellent and staff really good. Seating was a slight issue...I had booked in advance and was given a table by the entrance, which I didn't want and was moved straight away.
We had a lovely birthday meal with swift service and excellent food. Portion sizes were good and combination of flavours was excellent. In a colourful environment the ambiance was good, it was busy so there was a noise level that comes with that but it wasn't loud, a nice buzz.
Our lunch was a treat from my children and I must say The Ivy delivered on every level. From start to finish we had a really lively experience.
Great service and great food. Really enjoyed my relaxed lunch and I love the background music and hubbub. Would love to see some dairy free choccy puds on the menu at some point.
The food is good and interesting, though a little expensive as no potatoes or vegetables were provided with my fish. Which compares poorly to other restaurants of similar quality in Cambridge. Our waitress was very efficient and pleasant but some of the other staff were very OTT and really pushing the up sell
Fantastic first visit, shall definitely return when next visiting Cambridge. Our waiter Connell made the evening as he was fun, polite, talkative and very attentive.
Too noisy, poor service. Food very average. Will not be returning unfortunately.
We really felt looked after - a very special time! Thank you.
We enjoyed a lovely evening at The Ivy on Saturday. The surroundings are beautiful, the staff charming and the food of course, delicious.
We have visited The Ivy since it opened quite often but on our last visit we were very disappointed with the portion sizes we felt dishes had been reduced insize and not good value.
Awesome service and a surprisingly affordable price!
Disappointed that a surcharge was added to the Minute Steak on the two-course menu. This is very misleading and if a surcharge is needed the steak should not be on the Two-courses for £16.50 menu. Five of us had this and none of us spotted the surcharge in the very small print on the menu. Such a shame as we have had a lovely experience previously. You are better than this.
Superb food, and the service was simple brilliant. Sometimes great food can be let down by poor service, not here, they could not do enough for us and the food was some of the best I’ve ever eaten
The ambience and the service are spot on my liking. The food so far that I ordered - main course, monk fish curry, sea trout, steak and the set menu are all very good. And so is the starter- prawn tempura and crispy duck was lovely. Can’t complain.
Every time I come, it feels like they know me which is very nice, very welcoming.
I love the deco, it’s a happy colour. I love colours.
My daughter and I just wanted a little treat, but we were very disappointed. The food was dry and overcooked, the restaurant was incredibly noisy, and not in any way relaxing. On top of that, the price was absolutely exorbitant. I have been several times before, but the standard has certainly dropped now.
It was a great lunch with delicious food and attentive service. We will be back.
Superb supper here. Chef’s special, fillet of beef, was amazing. As with other Ivys, you can be assured everything will run smoothly. From the welcome at the door, where after simply saying ‘I have a reservation for 4 at 8pm’ they replied ‘of course, your guests are having a drink at the bar’. You know that they will come and find you when your table is ready, so no watch checking. Just relax. You know the food will be tasty and arrive hot (so rare these days). You know the staff will be charming and friendly.
Main course only luke warm. Complained and very quickly received new piping hot veg and sides. Service always Superb and food high standard
Very pleasant place to lunch
The food in this restaurant is outstanding and I cannot fault it, nor the décor and ambiance and would recommend it highly to anyone who enjoys excellent food in lovely surroundings. The service throughout the evening was attentive and my party could not complain at all.
The only niggle with the evening was when the time came to pay the bill. Service is included in the bill and as it was very good, I had no problem with this. What I did not have was change to pay the bill exactly, so paid the extra with a £10 note and a different member of the waiting staff to those who had served us all evening took the money and said she would bring the £7 change. We all sat and waited and waited and the money did not appear. In the end I had to ask a member of staff for my change, which was then brought almost immediately.
Just be aware the tip is included in the bill and if you are expecting change, unless you want to leave a greater tip, you may need to actually request the money back, as it is not given automatically
We love this place. Consistently great experience from food, service and atmosphere. Love the smoked Negronis!
Wonderful ambiance , great food and made to feel welcome. As it was our friends birthday a dessert complete with candle came for her completing a special day. Will definitely be returning.
The restaurant was newly decorated and attractive. It was very large and not full. We were given menus and seated, but no one came to take an order for 20m, and we could see 2/3 staff chatting by their computer screen, and had to call someone over to take our order. This slow response continued.
The food was good. The menu was catering for all, with snacks and sandwiches featuring along with dinner items.
There were nods to fine dining practices, such as someone to meet you at the door and take your coat, someone removing crumbed from the table cloth between courses, etc, but the quality of the food didn’t match this. The best thing on the menus was the capacino cake, which was delicious.
OVERALL IT WAS VERY PLEASANT EXPERIENCE. I WOULD RECOMMEND IT TO A FRIEND
Very relaxing atmosphere. The decoration of the restaurant is very good. Staff are excellent and service is very good. Good choice of menu and with good presentation of tasty food. We have also just walked in without booking (after a day in Cambridge) and the staff will try and obtain a table for you. We have eaten here on several occasions and will certainly do so again in the future.
We all loved the ambience, decor, service and food here. Two of our party are vegan and our choices were delicious especially the salad starter! The cocktails were also amazing!!!
Friendly attentive service. Decent food (afternoon tea) and prices. Spoilt somewhat by the 'thumpy' piped music everywhere. After all, people come to afternoon tea for a relaxing chat over tea, not a disco. Noise level is quite high anyway because the ceiling is rather low. If you want music, try some quite classical music during the afternoons.
We had a wonderful lunch and were really looked after and made to feel special! It was our first visit but will definitely be going again. All the staff were friendly ,Welcoming and efficient .
Our waiter Yannis was exceptional! We could not have asked for better service, he was friendly, knowledgable without being intrusive!
He also takes a good photo for you !!
Very enjoyable luncheon. The only downside was the noise from the chat of people eating exasabated by the tiled flooring and the music was competing. !!
lovely food, really good service and a beautiful atmosphere.
The food could use more flavour. The chicken and pasta was a bit flavourless. The atmosphere was brilliant. Enjoyed the dining experience very much
