    We had the afternoon tea, as a birthday present to my sister. Only one of the four people who served us during our stay had the right attitude and attentiveness. One was quite ignorant, one was abrupt, and another completely clueless. The sandwiches were ok, but the sweets selection was dreadful apart from one. Some simply had no flavour, and others were messy to eat. To cap it off, flies swarmed around our table and settled on our food. I told a member of staff, who didn’t care. We decided to take the scones home, as we just wanted to leave. One of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in recent years. I won’t be returning. My sister’s birthday tea was a massive disappointment, with money wasted.

    We discovered The Ivy on our last day in Cardiff and could not have had a more wonderful experience to end our visit. We were treated with kindness and care. The meal was delicious and ambience lovely. Thank you to the gracious manager.

    We went to The Ivy, Cardiff to celebrate a special birthday. From the moment we set foot inside we were made to feel welcome and “special “. We firstly had cocktails at the bar and the tw young men working behind the bar were very sociable and extremely professional and certainly knew how to do their job well. When we went to our table to eat the service was impeccable throughout our meal. The food was truly delicious and presented beautifully. It was simply a truly memorable occasion . The beautiful surroundings and ambience made it perfect.

    A colleague and I came here at the recommendation of a local. We are from the US. It was the best recommendation. From the ambiance to the service and the food. It didn’t disappoint! We loved it some much that we will go back.

    Thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon tea - I had the gluten free option which was very nice but would have preferred to have more of a balance of savoury and sweet. There were only 3 finger sandwiches but 6+ cake/sweets. My friends had the ‘normal’ afternoon tea and they had similar comments - they enjoyed their food but would also have preferred more of a balance between savoury and sweet.
