                                                                            It was my friends birthday we naturally wanted to make it special so we chose the Ivy. We have been to the ivy many times and the staff were very friendly. However I found it to be total snobbery that we were not allowed to bring in her balloon (which was a gift) nor bring a cake and candles. It is a fairly common chain restaurant after all, so it seems bizarre to have a strict “balloon policy”. We chose the Ivy as we thought it would be the best setting for a birthday. After having 1 single balloon and a cake refused we won’t chose the Ivy for a birthday again.

The meal is what you would expect from a fast food chain. Very expensive for what is was, a real disappointed after visiting the Ivy in London

It was a generous portion. My husband had the korean chicken which he said was very tasty and again a generous portion size. The service was good and as we were leaving all the staff wished us a good evening.

Very good value for money. Only one minor criticism, 10% service charge is automatically added to the bill. Would much prefer to decide for ourselves how much tip to leave.

                                                                            A friend and I had the set menu at £17.95, for two courses. The food was tasty but I would have liked a wider choice, there were three choices of starters, mains, and dessert. The staff was all very well presented and we received a welcome warm. Table attendance offered good information when they were queried about the menu. We asked for 'some' bread, and we chose sourdough, which arrived as a small loaf and not individual slices. However, the uneaten bread was taken home! The overall atmosphere was warm and welcoming.
