Really disappointing due to the service. We tried and failed three times to grab our waitress to just ask for bread. Then (there were four of us) we asked for more butter as we were only given a tiny amount. It didn't come. Had to ask again. Then the bread came before our wine and water. The starters were good. They forgot one of the main courses. Apparently the black cod was out of stock. They did at least not charge us for the replacement meal. For the first time in about twenty years I considered not leaving a service charge. Such a shame as the food and wine and ambience was great. But the worst service I can ever remember having in a really long time. And unfortunately for that reason I wouldn't be going back in a hurry.

We were late for our booking, we called 4 times, on the 5th time they’ve picked up and told me it wasn’t a problem, they will hold our table for us. When we have arrived, we were told that because we were late, they have given us a table all the way in the garden - that was quiet, no music, no atmosphere whatsoever, it was cold, we had our dinner wearing full winter jackets which wasn’t pleasant at all. The host was really rude, just kept saying that it’s our problem that we were late and she can’t do anything for us, so we had to eat it the cold, pretty much outside, on the 1st of December. Thanks Ivy, never again.

Poor service. Waited 30 mins with menus open waiting for starter order to be taken. It was only when I waived we were ready to order did the waiter come over. No napkins on table - they only arrived with main course after mentioning it. I have been to many Ivy’s (Richmond, Chobham etc) and like to mix them up, but I don’t think I will be coming back to Chelsea for a while on this showing.

Overall, a very pleasant experience. We were sat in the Glass house; however, I found the seating too cramped, might as well sit with the couple next to us. The service could have been better; however, rest assured our waiter was marvellous, he had far too much to look after on his own. The food was very good but could have been warmer. Most certainly will go back again.

One of the worst places for service I have ever experienced; far from conducive to the venue and brand it purports. Server had no interpersonal ability and was generally dismissive and we were an inconvenience to her. Starters never arrived, then did so part way through main course. No attentiveness. No one checked on us, checked if we wanted any drinks or dessert and instead trotted out a litany of well rehearsed excuses for the omni-shambles that was taking place. For a very high end restaurant this was simply unacceptable. Don’t be seduced by the external Christmas decorations - inside it is shambolic

I booked a table for breakfast at The Ivy Chelsea Garden as I do every year to celebrate my mum’s birthday, unfortunately we had a very bad experience last year but I was willing to return as we love the restaurant and the ambiance, especially at this time of year and that was the first bad experience we have had in many years. We arrived very early for our booking but as the restaurant was very quiet, the host kindly seated us in the main room. When our waiter arrived to take our orders I did mention that we had a bad experience the last time we dined to give him the opportunity to make sure the same thing didn’t happen again …unfortunately it did, resulting in us having to leave without eating. Our drinks arrived cold, followed by our food which were also cold for all four of us. When I made the waiter aware he was very defensive, dismissive and rude - not something we should expect from The Ivy Collection. I went up to the till point to ask to speak to a supervisor who apologised and said he would make good our situation, only for our waiter to return with our drinks that had clearly just been heated up and not been made fresh, he also continued to be incredibly rude, placing the blame on the kitchen and taking no accountability himself. At this point I was so upset that this had happens for the second year running I asked to leave. The waiter returned a few minutes later confirming that his manager agreed we could leave and we were ‘dismissed’ from our table. I apologise to bring this to your attention, but as this has happened twice I really feel important to raise my concerns. I really enjoy dining at your restaurants, in fact after leaving the restaurant we managed to book a table at Harry’s Dolce Vita where the service and the food were exceptional! Unfortunately it has really put me off returning to or recommending Chelsea Garden. Thank you for your time.

Beautiful restaurant, great atmosphere, however the Afternoon tea, an absolute rip off. And other than this, no one came to explain the Afternoon tea as should have been. The waiter just put the tiers on the table and left. And to our surprise, only 3 little pieces of so called sandwich….few cakes, which is fine, and when I asked for more gem, which again little and tiny, they made me pay for it. By far the worst Ever experience! Never again! Ivy Chelsea should be way more attentive with their customers! Not happy at all this time! Shame for the the waisted money and time, and was a gift for someone visiting from abroad. Disappointed!

This is not the first time I go for a Sunday brunch to The Ivy Chelsea Garden. Happy with the service which was smoother and quicker than usual (maybe because we had a reservation at 12:30 which is not too late), food is good and the prices are in line with the offer.

Came here for brunch on a Saturday afternoon. The restaurant was crowded and we had to wait for our table despite making a reservation beforehand. We were then seated next to a rowdy table which is the worst place to sit next to with a baby. Our food took ages to be served. When our food was served, we found a strand of hair in our courgette fries. Told the manager and got replaced with a new bowl of fries. Then we were served with our mains. And we found another strand of hair, stuck with the batter of the fish and chips. Told the manager again, and got replaced with a new plate of fish and chips. We have been looking forward to come back to this beautiful restaurant but ended up with such a disappointing and unpleasant experience. We paid for the full meal and it was definitely not worth it considering we were served food with hair TWICE and they took incredibly long time to serve the food.

I requested a specific table in a quiet corner. This was ignored and we ended up on a table next to children playing on their games. Service was slow (we had to go up and order our own drinks at the bar on arrival as we were left sitting on a sofa for a long time). The food was OK (nothing to write home about). The place was packed / busy.

Pretty Chelsea restaurant with noisy and fun front room for those who want to be seen, if you love flowers head for the Garden room or even sit in the garden where you can be joined by the Cigar smokers. Good simple menu with dishes we all love, like superb fish and chips, at the right price. Not many notches above the avarage pub price but sooo much prettier! Good, very friendly staff and efficient service keep the show on the road, "please wait at the bar" and on the dot, our reservation was for 2.15pm, we were asked to go to our table. The only draw back is the tacky decoration outside in the King's Rd. I understand it draws Instagrammers and makes some of us smile, sometimes, but.... plastic golden ornaments .... in 2022 .......seriously? In this case the restaurant is so much better than the outside will lead us to believe. Well done also for having gotten your staffing right, when you opened your front of house and others were simply awful and put a lot of us locals off. You have now won me over!

Can’t go wrong with the Ivy anywhere, however service was a bit disappointing at Chelsea Garden, unfortunately. Took a long time to get service after we were seated. The waiter in our section kept ignoring us as we tried to catch his attention. Turns out someone else needed to come over and talk about the menu but she was busy chatting with the table next to us. Eventually we got served. Food was ok, nothing to write home about. But I think the damage was already done.

We were excited to visit your restaurant again after a long time. but we did not like the taste we ate for breakfast. especially the waiter who took care of us was very indifferent and cold. I don't think I will come again. In addition, we had dinner at the Ivy ASIA Restaurant 3 days ago. The service and food there was amazing. I hope you maintain the quality of it.

I think diners need to be informed if they are seated in the area where they have to leave the table early (outside) because of residents. It's quite cold in there too and noisy when it's raining. Would have preferred to have been seated inside with no time pressures. Would appreciate being told at time of booking. Thanks.
