We had a lovely dinner & cocktails last night at your Chelsea restaurant. Usually, we go to Brighton, but booked Chelsea, as we were at The Chelsea Flower Show. Everything was perfect. The garden is stunning!! My only disappointment was that you don't sell the hand sanitizers on the tables. It smelt amazing! See you again!
Lovely service, food was a bit hit and miss but ambience of outside terrace was perfect
Crowded, loud, poor service, expensive. Food mediocre.
Lovely meal and excellent service. However, lighting dimmed during meal to point it was difficult to see what we were eating and our table was on the walkway through to the outside and waiters were whizzing past quite literally every few seconds. Appreciate busy week with Chelsea but we booked our table some weeks ago so this was a little disappointing.
Lovely evening. We understand it’s a popular restaurant but always feel a little hurried.
The waiter wasn’t good enough ! Very disappointing ..
Quite expensive for the food quality!
The staff very nice and helpful!
You must go
Ivy delivered my husband’s meal and not mine - what sort of restaurant does not serve everyone at the table together.
The waiter kept telling me mine would be along soon - later transpired he had forgotten to order it and didn’t even know what it was. Sent the first meal back to give them the chance to behave like something better than a transport caff. We eventually got both meals served an hour after we had ordered.
Full marks to the Ivy for spoiling a special birthday treat. Thank goodness for the supportive fellow diners who were equally appalled.
Love the restaurant have been many times before. My soup was really watery compared to my companions which was thick and mine didn’t taste great as aresult. We also felt very rushed there were about 3 minutes between clearing starters and serving mains. Went elsewhere for coffee and dessert so we could relax.
Nice reception-- we got to sit at the bar while we waited for our table. The ambience was romantic and energetic, even during the day. Staff were friendly but service was a bit slow-- will put this down to the fact that it was very busy. The food was delicious and innovative, a bit on the pricey side, but the restaurant is definitely selling an experience alongside the food. It was a lovely meal! Would definitely recommend The Ivy for dinner parties and fancy brunches.
We would like to say what a good time we had a the Ivy.
The food was very good, as was the service and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
The only criticism we have is that there are not enough gluten free options on the menu and as my wife is Coeliac, it made the choices of food suitable for her, more difficult.
Taking this into consideration, we still had a very good meal.

The Ivy boasts a truly charming garden in Chelsea, where we had lunch just before the Chelsea flower show. Service was just a little slow but given the difficulty restaurants have in recruiting and maintaining staff it was acceptable. Food was, as always, very good. If you want to sit outside you will need to book. Lovely lunch and afternoon.
Outstanding service and delicious food! have ordered truffled wild mushrooms for starter and grilled sea bass as a main. Decent portions left not much space for the pudding! However, I couldn't not miss their creme brulee - the best I have tried so far!
Our food was lovely. Our waiter was excellent, really efficient and helpful. One member of the front of house staff though was extremely rude and disorganised, which made the start of the experience not pleasant at all. We were running a few minutes late and out of courtesy called to say we were in a taxi and would be (at the latest) 10 minutes late but we were coming. We were informed in a very aggressive tone that if we reach 15 minutes, the table is gone. Fair enough but the tone wasn’t great. As it was, we were 7 minutes late and when we arrived, told our table wasn’t ready and we needed to wait at the bar. No one offered to take our coats, we were just shunted into the bar with everything in tow. We waited for about 10-15 minutes for the table to be ready, by which point, the same member of front of house told us we could only have the table for 70 mins (we had pre-booked months in advance) and would have expected 2 hours as a normal sitting but we didn’t contest, we were attending the flower show anyway but it was odd to say the least! As it was, our waiter took his time and we hadn’t even been handed the menus for dessert by the time we were supposedly meant to be ejected! No one attempted to move us after 2.5 hours so I have no idea what all the fuss was about with the front of house team member, especially as there was plenty of empty tables?! Bizarre experience.
Have eaten here and at a number of other restaurants in the chain many times before and never had this experience so I hope it’s just an isolated incident. If you were coming for something special though like a birthday and that’s what you were met with, I’m not sure you would be quite so forgiving! My advice would be to speak to the restaurant in advance and be sure of how long you have the table for and make sure it meets your needs before you come to avoid any potential stress.
Great service with everyone working hard. Nothing was a problem and the server remembered it was my partners birthday. Food was beautifully presented and tasted as good.
Warm welcome, excellent service and good food at a reasonable price.
The Ivy Chelsea Garden was far from the usual standard of service on this occasion. A senior member of staff came to our table at 1.50 and said ‘you won’t be able to order deserts as we want the table back at 2pm’
I was not aware of this and despite being told the reservation states it upon checking my confirmation there is no mention of it
It was a very rude way to be informed and if the restaurant wants the table back promptly they should ensure the initial service is also prompt.
We had to ask several times to place a drinks order and wait a considerable time for our mains to be ordered and served.
On this occasion totally unacceptable service
We were completely stressed after an hour and half car journey from North London to get to the restaurant as the traffic was horrendous. We were given a very warm welcome and assured our table was waiting for us. The food was delicious, service very friendly and our table in the garden was really lovely with a great atmosphere throughout the restaurant. We were a party of 6 with friends visiting with tickets for Chelsea flower show afterwards. The Ivy Chelsea Garden was the highlight of our day. Highly recommend.
A beautiful place serving stylish delicious food. Perfect for a special occasion.
The Enchanted theme for the flower show was beautiful.
A lot of staff everywhere standing around, but not very impressive service.
Great food, welcoming atmosphere, we had a wonderful breakfast.
Oder was incorrect 2x others ate why waited and the cheek to put a service charge on the bill - rubbish service
Left waiting for more than half an hour for a reservation at 20.45
Wonderful vibrant experience. Perhaps the tables were a little close together but overall fabulous
Fantastic location, excellent service as always !! a must do !!
The Ivy garden goes all out for Chelsea Flower show week with wood nymph models wandering around and the ladies loo ceiling covered with flowers. Place was really busy which showed in the service but food was good. Great fun atmosphere with clientele including a lot of show goers.
Had a lovely lunch with friends. Great service & food.
Beautiful restaurant, good food prepared well and waiters are, in the main, friendly and efficient. The only thing I find a bit disappointing is the unfriendly reception you seem to always get upon arrival, both here and at the other Ivy cafes. It’s a small thing in the context of an otherwise great restaurant.
Wonderful outdoor restaurant, excellent service, delicious food. Will definitely visit again
Not great we were rushed, they brought our main courses out before we finished the starter and brought out the bill with our deserts.. bill had drinks on that weren’t ours so after getting that sorted which took ages, we left but only to be trapped at the reception entrance with a stampede of people pushing us back into the restaurant and some eager women trampled all over my feet. Shoe was damaged. Not happy won’t return.. this place is not for locals.. go elsewhere to relax and enjoy a better environment that’s not full of desperate people showing the world they are at the ivy via Instagram
Fabby food (I had the tuna with mango salsa & the devine apple tart) & good service! Restaurant looked gorgeous too, Chelsea Flower Show week and the outside looked amazing.
We had to wait for our table and once seated it was clear the waiting staff couldn't get us through quick enough. They cleared my fellow diner's plate while I was still eating and then hurried us to place a desert order before we could even read the menu. Definitely not an enjoyable dining experience, they appear to be prioritising diner turnover rather than quality.
The food and level of service were both impressive. We sat outside in the enormous garden at the back of the restaurant and were looked after brilliantly by very attentive staff. We would definitely like to come back as we were so impressed.
Booked the restaurant for our wedding anniversary and it didn’t disappoint.
We were early and the restaurant managed to fit us in and showed us to our table.
I reserved a table in the garden which was very nice considering the weather was great.
Ambience was good along with the service and the food was delivered promptly considering how busy it was.
We will return again for sure.
Beautiful restaurant, fabulously decorated for the Chelsea Flower Show. Fab , helpful staff and good food.
Very pleasant lunch time no pressure to leave service on point food and drink as expected
Being during the Chelsea flower show it was looking stunning
We were well looked after and staff were extremely friendly and helpful
Lunch inside yesterday but wish we could have had outside but that didn’t detract from the fact that the staff were absolutely excellent, very attentive, very welcoming, nothing too much trouble. I do so
Love The Ivy Kings Road and have missed it’s ambience during covid so really glad to be back. Thank you everyone it was beyond first class and that fig and pistachio feuillete was beyond sensational. Glad to see long serving staff back and all the best to new staff too. Will be back soon 👍🌹🌹🌹
